When we were packing last night I realized I only have one good pair of New Balance shoes to wear at Disney. This time of year I usually just wear sandals or Kedswhich don't have the support I need for our trip to Disney....So tomorrow I am off to try and find some new tennis shoes of some sort. Any advice? I am not a athletic shoe type person so I have no idea which are best for Disney...Nike, Reebok, New Balance and so on. Any suggestions??

I'm a firm believer in New Balance... it's all we wear for sneakers.

But I just bought DS a pair of sandals yesterday at Kohl's. They're Ocean Pacific. We all tried them on last night and they were so comfortable that we went back and the rest of us got a pair. :) They're like walking on a cushion. :)

I used to get shin splints when I ran and sore knees until I switched to Nike Air. I usually get the Run/Walk or the cross trainers and I love them. No more sore knees or legs. I always get a new pair right before our big vacation.

Have fun, it is TOO long until I need a new pair!

I've never tried New Balance, but I love Easy Spirit athletic shoes. They used to make mainly shoes for old ladies, but the new ones are really cute. They're also extremely comfortable. They're incredibly light with great arch supports.

I have a pair of Nike walking shoes that are ugly (make my feet look fat) but they are soooo comfortable! They are much better than cross-training or running or basketball shoes because they are designed for all of that walking that WDW veterans are familiar with... I found these at Lady Foot Locker, though they are bound to be available in a lot of places.

Another vote for Easy Spirit. I bought a pair for my trip there last year and did not have any problem with my feet hurting at all. I just got another pair for my trip in September and really hope they are just as comfortable. I'm taking my old ones, just in case.

Its funny, the bottom of my feet and my ankles are what usually hurt. I'm going to try on some of everything...its a shame that you really can't know though until you have worn them for a while. I am taking my New Balance ones from last year but need 2 pair because I'm sure the day we go to Animal Kingdom John-Cole will make us ride Kali 4zillion times so I'll need more shoes...LOL!

... don't forget the bandaide for on the knee;)

easy spirit walk runs are the best things i have had on my feet i love them. i wear then to work. i walk a great deal. :D just try them on and you'll be hooked

Ryka shoes are also very good. Bought my first pair a week or so before our last trip and did the big no-no and wore them without having a chance to break them in. It was the first WDW trip that the bottom of my feet didn't feel like someone was holding a match to them. I swear by Ryka's.

You might want to go to the tips board, they have plenty of posts about fotowear. For sneakers I would suggest Nike run/walk, or New Balance. For sandals I would suggest TEVA,Mephisto, and if you have a walking store near you, They have a brand of sandals that I for the life of me cannot remember! They are pricey(like 89) but they are so comfortable and great for lots of walking. in fact I plan on using mine when I go next month.

I like Reboks and Teva sandals best. I try to take at least two good pairs of walking shoes with and change each day, or sometimes in the middle of the day.

I just bought my DD and myself Nike Airs Mine are crosstrainers and my DD look like the ones someone posted on here. (silver swoosh) I bought mine for the trip also!! :D Oh and her back to school!!;) On the day we go to AK I always wear sandals since my DD also Loves Kali River and its so much more comfy to wear them!! :D

Aren't you having a tooth pulled tomorrow, Beauty??? The realtor thing was OK....shoe shopping, too?....geez...you need to rest!!!:D :)

I've got a pair of New Balance 608. I like them. Pretty comfy.:)

A hint I got off of Deb's Disney site was to spray deodorant on your feet to help with blisters, etc. that like to creap up on you when you're walking around the World. I'm not sure if I just broke my shoes in good or if that actually helped. But none of us had blisters.:)

I can vouch for this. The day we FORGOT to spray our feet was the day DD and I developed blisters.

LOL Dorothy....yep if I feel okay after having the tooth pulled I'm going to look for some shoes...if not I'll wait until this weekend.

When you say deoderant do you mean regular underarm deodarant of foot deo.....I have actually never tried this but anything is better than the blisters!

Regular underarm deodorant spray.

I'll see if I can find the link to Deb's site. There's a lot of good helpful hints there (it brought me here;), she had a link to the dis).

I have two pr of New Balance that I use for work, home and Disney. They are the only shoes that dont make my arches and my ankles hurt by the end of the day.

Weird thing is I NEVER get blisters at Disney. I wonder if its because I wear sneakers CONSTANTLY. I wear them to work as I work for a doctor, I wear them out and about also. The only time Im not in sneakers is when I go to church and then Im in low heels which KILL my feet completely!

Just bought New Balance 991 for women, they are awesome and so comfortable.
