Yuck. I haven't been sick in years. Last week, DS came down with what they thought might have been influenza. Shortly after that, I started to feel bad. Weird stuff. Aches and pains, scratchy throat, fatigue, bladder pressure. Then on Friday afternoon, I could feel "the cold" start. Oh well, no big deal I thought. I made it through the weekend because I didn't do much but this cold has a lot of post nasal drainage that is causing an almost constant cough. Sunday night I slept pretty well and went to work yesterday. I was tired but made it through. Then last night, the dry hacking cough started and I was up a few times last night. This morning in the shower was a nightmare! Then, I got to work and made it all of about 2 hours. I had a HUGE choking fit. Tears streaming down my eyes, face red, shaky, heart racing. I just came home and laid down for awhile. That made me feel a lot better (and I'm sure my cube mates were THANKFUL :teeth: ). But GEEZ, I thought I was getting better yesterday.

I was coughing so bad I had to cancel an appointment I had this afternoon and, of course, now they are going to charge me for the appointment anyway. Guess I can't blame them.

A few people in my office have had this "hacking" cold and it seems to last 7-8 days. Anyone here have it? My stomach muscles HURT.

I hope you feel better. My DD13 is home from school right now with a cold. And I I am starting to feel exactly what you just described. My sister inlaw just got over the influenza bug. I hope I don't catch it.

Yeah, it is REALLY the weirdest cold I've had in a long time. I was just so achy and tired for days but nothing seemed wrong, then my throat was scratchy, then the cold. And this is probably too much info, but it is now somehow affecting my intestines. :confused3 No diarrhea but things just aren't "right." :rolleyes1 I think I may have swallowed too much mucous.

My coworker had this. It started two Saturday's ago. He finally feels 100% better TODAY!!! He also had some "intestinal" involvement.

I have the same exact symptoms you are describing...except with low back pain. The docs I work with are saying that it's sinus/allergies acting up. Scratchy throat is from the post nasal drip. Cough is from all the irritation and postnasal drip. Stomach upset is from all the phlegm I've swallowed, and all the meds I'm taking are making me even more jittery. I frankly have no idea why I have low back pain, though. I did urinate a lot more last night and yesterday than normal, and I am starting to wonder if I'm getting dehydrated.

I'm so hopped up on pseudoephedrine right now I'm vibrating.

Well, my coworker had the lower back pain. He said that the back pain went away after he, AHEM, had the intestinal portion of this thing.

Our pollen count here is astronomical right now, but this is not what is affecting me and my coworker. He's had a definite improvement. My, I truly believe, is viral.

I won't take the Sudafed because I know it will agitate my already fast heart rate. It would probably make me feel a heck of a lot better though.
