I Have Done Nothing to Get Ready for Holidays-Now changed to *See my Tree* thread

Oh yes!! No Noodles is much better than Burnt Noodles... LOL...;) No noodles tonight... SURVIVOR is on!! There is not a noodle safe on Thursday night...:)

I bought a gift during DISCON and had it shipped. Other than that and sending a secret santa gift, I've done nothing.

We're going to Texas this year so no tree or decorations for us this year.

Mooove over...i need to join you on this couch....not much done at all.

Few gifts, no tree, no wrapping, no baking.

Need to make a large gingerbread house for 2nd graders to decorate. It will either go to a nursing home or the military base.

I have never written a Xmas card at all. this yr. I sent a few email cards to friends but that is it. I have 3 gifts bought, my house is decorated inside but that is it . :D

I made a ton of cookie dough at the beginning of the week and there they still sit, in the fridge (chilling;) ), waiting to be baked. Just didn't have time to get to them!!!:o

I haven't done much yet either. Had lunch with a friend today and she commented on how I'm usually done by now.:D

I can't seem to get in the spirit. I think it's because this is the first time in 18 yrs. we have no "believers":( There isn't the excitment that I'm use to going on here. Guess I'm going through one of those "my babies are growing up" things.

Have to get it in gear. Plan to shop all day tommorrow.

I have done NOTHING! I have very little to do & I haven't even started. My BF bought Christmas cards (Disney ones - I think he's a keeper ;) ), but they haven't even been opened yet. We haven't bought our tree. I feel bad because about 1/2 my family is spending Christmas in Switzerland & I don't think they'll get my Christmas cards in time.

My BF & I don't exchange gifts & my siblings asked for money so the only actual present I need to buy is for my friend's 3 year old (her B-day is right after Christmas).

We got a tree.

My little tree

No joke. :) I just don't feel like digging in the basement and pulling out the big one. And the bags next to it... presents. Since I have to buy my own this year, no sense in wrapping them.

I keep thinking I should bake this weekend. We'll see...

I wasn't gonna post. I'm too tired to post. But eeyore74, you again made me laugh out loud and I just had to post. I LOVE your little tree but I was thinking "Gee, she could have removed the Walmart and Target bags away for the picture" and then I read why you didn't. ROFL!!!!

It's 10:10 p.m. Friday night and I've just returned from a trip into the city. Took the 10:15 a.m. train in. I never Christmas shopped in the city before but my husband works downtown and has been telling me how they are still hurting for business down that way. SO.... off I went to help in my little way!

I bought 20 presents, most of which stayed in my husband's locker at work because after he got off work we were heading uptown to see tree and do some more shopping and we didn't want to drag everything with us. (Also stuck in his locker are the Christmas cards I bought planning to write out this weekend!! LOL) I certainly hope Monday does NOT bring that threatened transit strike or I'm stuck!!

Out of those 20 presents, the only one I charged was the one thing I bought for my hubby. I bought two items for my son so out of those 20 presents, only three are for my immediate household. The rest were for *relatives*. DH and I both come from big families -- good thing we don't buy for all of them but I still have a few more to get.

Soooo, I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now. I won't think about the cleaning and decorating and tree hunting and baking and gift wrapping and card writing and all the rest of those things that yet have to be done.

We should continue to use this thread to post our updates. We may be procrastinators but we do get things done...eventually!

I hear you Tulirose! :)

I'm further behind this year than usual. No tree (hopefully today), no outside lights up, only half my shopping done, nothing wrapped, and the few things I did try to get yesterday were already sold out.

I do the shopping for my parents (their gifts to the kids, & grandkids), my Father's shopping for my Mother (or she gets really bizarre stuff..lol), and organize my siblings in the name draw. For some reason, they call me to find out what to get for their gift sib, instead of the recipient!!! Then there's my own gifts for family, friends, and DH's family.

I can feel that old familiar Christmas panic mode setting in. By the time I finish my pot of coffee this morning, I hope to be in warp drive!! ;)

I'm so glad it's not just me. The funny thing is, somehow, it always comes together in the end. :)

Save some room on that couch, okay? :)

Good morning prcrastinator buds,

Yesterday was payday so i got a awful lot done yesterday. Still need to get the tree and do all the wrapping and get that gingerbread house made.

Need to get three boxes ready for shipping also.

I have decided not to bake....2 out of the 5 of us in the house can't eat any baked goods so it's better that I just don't do it.....what a relief!!!!!!!!!

here's hoping that this weekend is a good one and that on monday we all feel a little closer to being done.

Cookie dough in the fridge here, too, now. Hoping to rope DH into helping bake them tomorrow.

Decided mom gets flowers for Xmas. Now just have to order them. Still have to get a gift for brother and send my nieces' gifts out.

I really want to get the neighbors a new string of lights. We're in condos and they have one small string of icicle lights but have of them are out and it's starting to bug me. lol

I finally did some shopping todday.

Ricola, you braved MoA on a Saturday??? I can't DH near that except twice a year in slow times.

Are you done shopping though? ;)

Looks like I need to join the Thread Killer Support Group. :p

I keep waiting to hear everyone getting caught up - and therefore inspire me to do so, as well. lol I'll just assume y'all are too busy to post about it. :D

One more week to go! I might get Xmas cards out by Friday, unless my hand falls off. (I'm also catching up on wedding thank yous.)

Happy Holidays!

Eeyore you are just too funny!! I was gonna write a reply sooner but...well, I had decided to do it a little bit later and...well, later never came 'til now! *Big Sigh* that's the story of my life. LOL!!

Got a tree over the weekend. Lights are on it. The tinsel garland is on it (I learned decades ago that I can't have real tinsel because the DearKitties eat it and get sick). The beaded garland is on it. I started putting the ornaments on it today. DS's GF was gonna help tonight with it but I'm not sure why that didn't come to pass. I have literally zillions of ornaments (and each and everyone of them is special) for the tree and we got a smaller tree than usual this year. Hope they all fit. I'm almost done hanging the special ornaments. Last to go on are all the ball ornaments but I'm done for the night with it. My tree always takes forever to decorate. (Well, maybe it's because I am just slow and I'm the only one who decorates it - some times and only some times, I wish I had a daughter, this is one of those times...a daughter would be interested in decorating the Christmas tree).

Went on a shopping marathon Saturday and Sunday. Everything shoved in bags in my closet. Not sure what I got who (or should I say who I got what?!). Many of my Christmas presents are still in Manhattan because DH didn't go to work today due to one of our kitties needing an emergency visit to the Vet this a.m. (another story for another post at another time)

Christmas cards still not written out. No lights up outside yet. (Besides, that's hubby's job!) In previous years I would bake tons of cookies and give as presents. Didn't do that last year and I don't see it happening this year.

Am I inspiring ANYONE out there yet??? LOL :teeth:

How are the rest of you guys doing? Is that cookie dough still in the fridge? How many days left?

Oh -- Went to a St. Nicholas Day celebration at our church today. I help out with the first graders and this year there was a short video and it reminded us that that the Christmas season STARTS on Christmas Day and so it is perfectly okay to send out Christmas cards after Christmas. Sounds good to me.

Tomorrow night is the office Christmas party. They have it at a really nice place. Dinner. Dancing. Spouses (or a guest) encouraged to be brought to this shindig. He even hires a comedic magician. All free. And, believe it or not, I do have a dress to wear for it. Got it a while ago. So, I'm not totally hopeless.

I hope your kitty is ok!! Duncan dog sends healing licks.

I used to help my mom with the tree - brother and father couldn't care less, so I understand that. I added an ornament to our little tree - the Beast castle from Hallmark. I really need to find a mini set of lights for it. lol

I got our cookies baked and iced. DH was nice enough to rub my lower back - the counters here are shorter than normal or something. Still have to make the Santa cupcakes and figure out if I have to cook on Xmas or not. (I think we did Boston Market two years ago. Last year we were able to go to my home. *sniffle*)

I like that we can send cards after Xmas. :) That helps!!!

Let's hear more!! Keep us motivated!!

Oh No Eeyore - Ya did it again! No one posted ALL DAY today.

Well, I just hope that is because everyone is SO busy doing everything that needs to get done and they will soon come back here and tell us of all their great accomplishments (or things left to still do!).

Me, I did nothing but went to work - got a bonus check today ($50 bucks more than last year, nice. ;) ) Just got home ('smatter of fact, my coat is still on. I must be crazy).

I plan on relaxing a bit before I get ready for the party tonight at 7:30. So, I won't be reporting any new accomplishments for today.

Oh, and thanks Duncan dog for caring about Oliver. He is on antibiotics right now and doing fine.
