Monique you will beat this! We'll be with you through it all! I was early 40's when diagnosed with stage III and my kids were 17, 14, and 4! PM me anytime! I had a rough go of it, but you CAN do it, one day at a time!!

I was recently dx'd with BC as well - my surgery is scheduled in 10 days.

As I don't have children, I can only guess how that adds to your anxiety. Please try to keep positive thoughts & have faith in the advancements made in treatment. My mother is a 16 yr. survivor and still going strong at age 87!

I can understand your fear. With kids it makes it worse. My mom is a two time survivor and last time was pretty scary. You will beat this, just stay strong, but don't hesitate to lean on those who offer help.

First to you. May I suggest that you contact the local American Cancer Society near you or you can call 1.800.ACS.2345. ACS has a program called Reach to Recovery, where you are able to meet/speak to a breast cancer survivor whom is similar to you in experience. It is a great way for you to get additional support. ACS can also help you with transportation, counseling for you or your family if you are interested, and really navigate you through local resources to help you and your family cope during this difficult time. Take each day at a time and STAY POSITIVE.

I too am going through the fear. I just had a breast biopsy on Tuesday, I too am very scared. I am awaiting the results hopefully I will hear on Monday.
