I have a question for the moderators

you guys must have good memories to know who said what when. i couldn't keep track of that .....i have a hard time keeping track of my own life let alone someones elses, and if i could i probably wouldn't. there must be more important stuff to focus on?

How true is that!!! :thumbsup2 I would rather take each post and poster at face value and not try to dissect every little thing they have ever said to see if they are 100 percent consistent.

Someone would have to say something REALLY terrible to make me even THINK to report a post. I mean Come on are we grownups here....or is this the Sesame Street Board:confused3

I want to say just once, for clarification, that while I don’t believe that what I posted to earn my points amounted to a major personal attack, I did post a remark that was both sarcastic and snarky. I make no apologies for what I said and I wouldn’t take it back even if I could. The comments I did make were a result of careful consideration and showed great restraint on my part.

I accepted my points with no complaints to the moderator “team” that gave them to me. Whether I earned them is obviously a matter of opinion. t.

And my Mac and cheese comment was after a poster worried and posted for 6 hours about her mother trying to trick their vegetarian guest into eating meat-To me the time might have been better spent for the OP herself to make a couple alternative dishes to serve her friend instead of posting all day about it.:confused3

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Unfortunately what you failed to realize:lmao: , is that people who post continuously for 6 hours about a "problem" that could easily be rectified by using a little common sense don't really want logical solutions to their problems at all. It's the DIS "pity party oh-woe is me phenomena" and no amount of reasonable suggestions or practical advice will be considered.

I've seen the pattern occur many times over the years and try to avoid those threads like the plague! They're a trap I tell you, a trap. :rotfl2:

I got slammed on that thread, too, Loverly. I think Darlak got zapped on that one as well, if I'm not mistaken. At least we're all in good company sharing the humiliation.

Amen! I think I might have to start using the ignore function that I've heard about. Might keep me out of future trouble.

Nope, I got my points on a thread about the influx of porn here lately. I believe that I might have suggested that a certain pot-stirrer was probably next going to suggest that those she believed were responsible for the porn were responsible for the Kennedy assassination.

I'm not mentioning a closed thread. It's a gone thread. As I said, I certainly don't deny the sarcasm or snarkiness. I just don't think it rose to the level of a Major Personal Attack, but that's obviously not my call. I'm embarrassed to admit that I got sucked in by what was clearly an attempt to bait me and others.

Really? O my gosh.....looks like I got my PM's back this AM!
I think I will avoid that poster in the future-If i could get "Search" to work and remember her name@!;)

Then again, maybe they have a more sinister objective in mind by reporting everyone who dares to disagree with them. The real question in my mind is why is the simple act of reporting someone apparently enough justification to warrant points being issued? Is the intent of the reporter never questioned or even examined?

I believe this is the case - I for one had never gotten any points and I normally stay on the WISH events board where everyone seems so much nicer, has respect for others and not at all trigger happy to report someone. I recently got points (for a minor personal attack) but don't want to get into all the details since I don't want to get any more points or banned :scared1: There was a poster that accused me of a MAJOR personal attack in a thread where I called someone something - even though I wasn't even talking about that person - so how could that be a personal attack on them? Meanwhile it was ok for other posters including the one who accused me of the attack to say things that offended me. So I guess I will be better off staying on the WISH board and away from this controversial board! :confused3

I wish everyone could get along but I guess that is just not the nature of the beast - I also hope this doesn't get me in trouble as I am not trying to stir the pot and I am not trying mount a personal attack on anyone.
