I've been in your position too. Although I was only 9 weeks. It was my first pregnancy. I had my D&C the day after Christmas (on a Friday) and on Saturday drove 2 hours for a family party. I was fine physically. Emotionally - that took a bit longer.

If you are like me every year on your due date you'll remember this baby and be very sad. And no one else will remember. Even though I have a healthy happy 9 month old now I still think about that pregnancy. I just wanted to tell you this so you will know its perfectly normal to remember this angel.

Yesterday at our routine prenatal visit they couldn't find an heartbeat for the baby. While I like to believe they were wrong, I saw the ultrasound myself and it was quite obvious.

Since we are into the 2nd trimester they have scheduled a D&C for today. So if anyone could send a little extra pixie dust my way I could use it.

I've never had any type of surgery or 'proceedure' done and I'll be put under which is very scary for me.

I'm also quite worried about DS4 who will be shuffled between friends after school today (we have no family near by).

For the most part I'm ok. I really belive things like this happen for a reason and that something wasn't right so this child couldn't survive.

We are also scheduled to go to WDW on Sat. The Dr seems to think that will be ok but I don't know. I don't want to further disappoint DS, who was so excited about the baby, but I don't know if traveling thousands of miles is wise either. We are taking a wait and see attitude about the trip.

I'm so sorry. I had to have a D&C with my 3rd pregnancy. It was so heartbreaking. I had lost another pregnancy just before that one. Disney will probably do you good. Just don't push it. If you need someone to talk to please PM me. The bleeding after the D&C lasted over 2 weeks for me. The cramping kicked in about 2 days after the D&C, and lasted a couple days.

I'm so sorry. This happened to me years ago with my first pregnancy. The D&C precedure wasn't bad at all, but emotionally it was hard. Try to take one day at a time, rest, and take care of yourself.

I lost two pregnancies and had one D & C. I remember feeling pretty crampy throughout the procedure and for a little while afterwards. I can't remember how long I bled. What I do remember is how strong I thought I was being, until they took me into the OR and gave me some medicine to relax - then I lost it. The nurse was an angel: she brought me warm blankets because I couldn't stop shivering, and she told me it was o.k. to cry, that I didn't have to be strong.

I'm looking forward to the trip, I'm hoping we can still go. I know it will do us all a world of good to see DS having a great time at WDW.

We aren't planning on any parks until monday and dh said I could get a wheelchair. He was only 1/2 kidding. We aren't commando people so I'm hoping it'll be ok. I just hope I'm hungry because we've got a lot of great reservations!

I know I won't forget this baby. It'll just be another of the countless angels I know are watching over me.
