Yesterday at our routine prenatal visit they couldn't find an heartbeat for the baby. While I like to believe they were wrong, I saw the ultrasound myself and it was quite obvious.

Since we are into the 2nd trimester they have scheduled a D&C for today. So if anyone could send a little extra pixie dust my way I could use it.

I've never had any type of surgery or 'proceedure' done and I'll be put under which is very scary for me.

I'm also quite worried about DS4 who will be shuffled between friends after school today (we have no family near by).

For the most part I'm ok. I really belive things like this happen for a reason and that something wasn't right so this child couldn't survive.

We are also scheduled to go to WDW on Sat. The Dr seems to think that will be ok but I don't know. I don't want to further disappoint DS, who was so excited about the baby, but I don't know if traveling thousands of miles is wise either. We are taking a wait and see attitude about the trip.

Thanks

I'm sorry. I hope everything goes well today. Take care.

 I'm so sorry. I have been in your position and I really feel for you. The surgery is very easy...nothing to it. The emotional aspect is far worse. you probably will be okay to take your trip on Saturday. Just don't over-do it for the first few days.

:grouphug: So sorry for you - we went through the same thing almost when our DS was 4, my water broke in the 15th week. He didn't really understand it all, he just knows that he has a brother in heaven. :grouphug: Let me know if I can do anything for you.

Praying for you and your family.

I am so sorry.

I think you will probably be ok by Saturday if you take it easy tomorrow and go easy at first in WDW. I had a D&C many years ago for the same reason and my biggest discomfort afterwards was in my throat from being intubated for the anesthesia. That and the sense of loss.

:grouphug: and prayers for you all.

:grouphug: I am so sorry. Prayer said. Here's some PD, too. :wizard:

I am so very, very sorry. My most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family, with extra big hugs to your little son. May God give you comfort and strength. Please take good care.

I'm in the Austin area, and have been through this myself. If I can help in any way please PM me, or if you still have my email address send a note to me. P&PD... :grouphug:

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the opposite experience - began to miscarry while at WDW and flew home for a D&C while my husband and daughter stayed to finish the trip and drive our car home. I'm so sorry for your sad outcome - it will be better in the days to come.

We took a return trip to WDW a few weeks later, and I found it to be a very healing experience for myself, and a great way for my then 4 year old daughter to have fun and return to her "normal" self. We'd all been sad and mopy, so the WDW trip was a real booster. I know you might not want to go, and it's totally your decision - just thought you might like to hear from someone who'd had the same experience and found WDW was able to work its usual magic and remind me of the fun and comfort I could have with my daughter. And a few years later, we took new baby sister on the first of many family trips!!!!! I know that will happen for you, too.

P&PD for you. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. :grouphug:

I couldn't agree more.

I was also in the 2nd Trimester when they couldn't find my babies heartbeat.
You seem in a better frame of mind than I was at the time. I didn't want to believe that something like this was happening to me. I really didn't handle it well at all. The emotional aspect is far worse than anything else. After I had things back together I know in my heart that things happen for a reason. But it still hurts. :grouphug:
