I am using my first non-CM book for our first trip. I bought a blue leather one with a medallion of the castle on the front at the scrapbook store at DTD. I found that the pages were a really thick plastic that did not lay flat. I bought regular (the cheapest) refill pages at Michael's and they work much better. I have about 30 pages in my book and it lays perfectly flat. I gave the original pages to DD to use for crafty items. At least they won't go to total waste!
I was in a 6 x 6, A-Z Disney Character recipe SWAP. I wanted to put them in a Disney albulm & since I had this one I thought it would be so cute. Its going in my kitchen. Since I couldn't find the refills, I ended up buying a 6 X 6 plain one in red. GRRR. I use to buy albulms I liked & then never scrap. So, I have all these albulms I need to use up. And since I'm scrapping again, I've realized how frustrating they are. Its been too long for me to take them back. GRRR
