I am currently in Disney World experiencing my first vacation with the FastPass+ system. Unfortunately, I didn't have any time to research or plan ahead and discovered the new system when I showed up in the parks.

The idea of being able to manage and book Fastpasses over a smartphone (which I don't have) or on the internet seemed cool. But for the life of me, I am stuck with one serious problem. I CAN'T SEEM TO EVER GET MORE THAN 3 FASTPASSES IN 1 DAY.

In the old system, I always showed up and park open. Then immediately ran to the rides I needed FastPasses for. At park open, the time you needed to wait before you could get another Fastpass was only 15 or 30 minutes. Normally in the Magic Kingdom, I could have 5 fastpasses by 10am. And in a given day, I could get 15 or more.

Under the new system, I am stuck to 3. As they do not let you get a fourth until you have used all three. Or at least time has expired for all three. This doesn't sound too bad, except that whether I try to book my first three FastPasses for the day, at least one of them is after 6pm. Not much time to get any Fastpasses after that.

In my experience, this has severely reduced the number of rides and characters that I am able to experience in a day. Even in an off peak time when the crowds are low.

More frustrating than that are the restrictions on the Fastpasses. Namely, the categories such as in Hollywood Studios. I am unable to get a Fastpass for both Toy Story Mania and Fantasmic in the same time. This is especially painful as all of my previous trips I would usually get 3 Fastpasses in the same day for Toy Story Mania alone. That is completely impossible now.

Also.... i really miss the paper print outs. They were always such great items to add to my scrapbook/photo album for my trip.

Is anyone else angry about the change? And hoping at the very least that they would increase the number from 3 to something reasonable like 10 or higher?

You can edit the times you are offered, and it is now possible to get 4, 5, 6, or more FPs if you study and work the system smartly. I am not a fan of the concept either, but it is here to stay and we can either use it the best we can or get used to standby. I don't think "10 or higher" is a reasonable starting point for everyone to get FPs. The old system gave out FPs a minimum of 40 minutes out, and I am dubious of your claim you could amass 5 of them by 10:00a--even with a 7:00a EMH start, you couldn't start getting them until 8:00a, so I'm thinking 3 was the best possible number by 10:00a.

I honestly can't tell if you're trying to be funny or not. Either way, you've guaranteed yourself a long thread full of heated debate that'll probably get shut down by mods eventually and result in myself earning another demerit(?)

In the years just Pre FP+, you weren't able to hold multiple FP's at a time, either.

I like it. We're not rope drop people so it works great for us. Plus, I got fp+ for a&e meet and greet.

I am totally serious.

I have been off of the boards for a while now, and came back because of my anger/frustration over FastPass+. So I haven't read much about it.

I feel like a Disney World newbie all over again. All of my previous strategies for maximizing the number of rides, characters, etc has been eliminated. And I am stuck in longer lines with more wait.

And I can't figure out a way to play the system to my maximum benefit. Maybe i am just late tot the game and needed to book my FastPass+ months in advance like ADRs. If that is the cause, I find it sad. And really feel sorry for the folks who don't plan at all.

I found that you could. Because previously if your time was 10am to 11am, you could come back at 5pm and use it without a problem. As long as it was after the start time.

Hence my strategy of collecting a bunch at park open, then using them all only in the evening when the crowds are at their max.

That "loophole" was closed with Legacy FP a full year before WDW got serious with FP+. Times have changed.

That's nowhere near true. Before Disney rolled out FP+, there was legacy FP. In that system, you could get your next FP when the window for your current one opened or two hours later (whichever came first). It was very easy to hold multiple FPs at one time.

I've also heard there is a new ride that might be opening in Fantasyland sometime between May 2nd and 2016. Rumor is that it has something to do with short guys digging for shiny things......:confused3

I wonder when you went that you previously got 3 fp- for TSMM? The advent of FP+ was the first time I was able to ride in some time. :goodvibes

As hard as it is to believe, the OP may not be pulling our leg. The last post before today was more than 3 years ago.

Sent from my IPad using DisBoards.

Ok.....WAY off topic, sorry everyone.....but your photograph gave me the giggles.

Looks like 3 Lime Lifesavers.....1 New and 2 Partially consumed. You know, the ones you spit out in your Mom's hand so you don't swallow it on a ride and gag.

Or maybe it's just 2 am and indigestion!

I now return the screen to the original topic. Ct hank you for your patience at 2 am.
