This time I got my oldest to pose for me. It was a lot of fun. I know they aren't perfect - I can see a few shadows that I would rather not be there especially on the neck and chin area. I do think I am slowly improving - gosh I hope so. :rolleyes1

Like always let me know what ya think. :)

Natural photos are so often better than poses. I remember when I used that film stuff years ago that I wouldn't "waste" film on the poses. I would just fake them out with the flash test button on an extra flash and take pics in between the fake poses and get some really good shots without them knowing about it. You can't fake the smile a real laugh brings to the surface.

The last one is definitely the best. She's looking much more comfortable in front of the camera compared to her senior portrait shots, too.

I love #3, but also like the effects on #2. And I agree, the last one is great too. Heck - they're all good! :thumbsup2

My favorites are the second pic and the last one. I tend to like candids as well. But some people are stuck on traditional portraits. To each their own:goodvibes
DVC Jen, I'm fairly new around these parts, is photography just an insane hobby of yours, or are you trying to break into the business? You do great work.

LOL I dunno what I am doing Shannon - mainly just trying to get better.

love the last one as well...so i guess we're mostly in agreement:rotfl2:

Love #3....too bad you weren't zoomed out further. I've been reading up and apparently cutting off pieces of limbs is bad, lol. Not sure what the exact rules on it are (I have ALOT more reading to do,lol) but now I can see where this picture would have been awesome with her hand in it.

Beautiful subject too BTW! lol

Last one is my favorite :thumbsup2

The lighting in that shot is particularly flattering to her facial features. I would try cropping it tight to just keep all her hair in the picture also maybe?

Nice work all around- you are certainly improving and she seems more at ease in front of the camera.

These are really good. The last is my favorite as well. Just something about the angle and lighting that makes the shot. Well done!

I really like number 3 and 4. :) I think they could be cropped a bit so the subject is not so centered (could be just my taste) but the shot and lighting are very nice. I like her face in the last one but the limb cropping (at joints) does detract a bit.
