I got Blacklisted at WalMart!!!

I got the lecture from Walmarts both her in Wa and in Idaho. They check our IDs each time. However it never seemed to matter if I had a receipt or not, they were almost always rude and reminded me of my "privilages". I can undertand the constant returns of large ticket items but small ones (children's clothes [from gandparents], toys malfunctioning, or housewares [that don't compinet you place]) should be retunred ithout too many questions, with or withou a receipt. Running ones ID is fine as lng as thee is not set limit. I mean hey already know where you live or your license number so why not let you return the goods for store credit?

3 returns in a 30 day period.....Now I'm on WalMart probation for 6 months. :rotfl2:
I'm sorry but this is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. My 3 returns this month didn't even total $50. What a joke! Meanwhile......the woman in line next to me was returning an artificial tree & that was ok :sad2:

I say ............ screw 'em! :furious:

I'm dreading my returns w/o a receipt I have to do. So far, it's only four things (two different stores) but I can't/won't ask for a gift receipt, so I'll be making the returns sans receipt. I'm waiting for my gift from my ILs to see if that needs to be returned/exchanged so everything can be done at once.

Today, though, I made exchanges/returns to Sears, Bath & Body Works, Piercing Pagoda and Bed Bath and Beyond without any hassle, with receipts. And it was my second return to BBB in a week.

I feel your pain. DH and I had been doing home improvement projects in the bathrom to be exact and several times either over brought or I just changed my mind. Well Home Depot, now has to get a supervisor to check our returns!!!!:rolleyes1

LOl, I hate returning things anyways...so I can't imagine having three in one month. Do they count each item returned or the amount of times you come in and return items?

I wish I could somehow get myself blacklisted at Walmart. Every time I go there, it is so awful that I say I will never go back....and then I always do. I can't help it, it is so close to my house......:rotfl2:

Wow!! This has got to be a store-by-store policy. I return stuff to Walmart CONSTANTLY. I always have receipts, and have never been asked for my driver's license. If my Walmart had your Walmart's policy....I'd be on the PERMANENT blacklist for sure!!!

I'm also really glad Lowe's doesn't have that policy....we return probably about 30% of the stuff we buy there....I guess we are just really bad Lowe's shoppers. And, to top it off....because it is usually DH who pays there...we NEVER have receipts.

It's so funny to see the Wal Mart haters and the "one more reason not to go there".... Target's return policy is WAY more restrictive - seasonal items, even defective ones - are returned at current clearance price - receipt required. It would suck if my $300 pre lit tree broke and they wanted to refund $75!

Anyway... Wal Mart's return without a receipt policy is one of the most liberal ones out there - and they'll usually have a supervisor override the code. My friend who got married recently had to explain a higher # of no reciept returns, as her license # was restricted - explained to a mgr and it was fine.

I have an acquaintance who is not a poor individual, and she should know right from wrong. She is a teacher, but doesn't behave like one. She lives in a $900,000 house, so is obviously not needy. Here's how she abused the return policy system...

She bought clothing - weekly - from Boscov's, Penney's, Macy's, etc. She would purchase the same look-alike clothing from TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc. She sewed the labels from the good clothing into the "look-alike" clothing, then took it back to the major department stores, with a receipt, for a return. Penney's was the first to notice. She was never arrested for this, but one by one the stores stopped her return privileges.

I wish they had arrested her! I cannot believe anyone would stoop so low.

She sounds like psyco-path with waaaaaaayyy too much time on her hands.
Scarey to think she is influence children!

O...M...G... what a total thief! Funny thing is, she probably saw her crimes as victimless.

Unreal!

I know HD has had HUGE problems in the past with returns, and lots of issues with theft. DH is a manager there and you'd be amazed at some of the stuff that happens. People return toilets that they've had for years that broke. I mean, sure, if it broke 3 days after you installed it, absolutely I'd be mad and want a new one but after three or four years cut your losses and buy a new one already. At least they are allowed to have a manager override it unlike some places, and if you are in there a lot they may recognize you as frequent customers and give you less hassle.

yes, but the reasons just keep pilin' up!!!!!:rotfl:

and really - the example you gave is just seasonal and with the example of the tree - they would just have you go through the manufacturer, which is probably as it should be!!!

I have done tons of returns to Target and never had a problem...a

nd, no Target isn't the far and away optimal answer, but in many ways is light years ahead of Walmart - in other aspects, they are just the lesser evil.....

Guess I must have missed the "pile" - LOL..

I love Walmart - and never have any problems with them whatsoever..:goodvibes

oh really??? so, you've missed the dozens of discussions here??? I don't mind if you disagree...but come on now.....

.

Are you sure about that? I just returned something I bought online (not even in stores) and it had been reduced but I got the price on my reciept.

I was really happy because I did the return on line and just kind of dropped it off at the store. I couldn't have been happier with the process?

Does Walmart post it's 3 returns only policy? I haven't shopped there for 10 years.

LOL.. None that weren't applicable to other stores as well, so the "reasons" just don't hold water with me..:rotfl:
