I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

I think you should be able to throw this together too! And... what a cool choice. I love the change :thumbsup2

Thanks! I like the change, too. After I picked up Reid from vacation bible school today, we picked up Ed for lunch. We were discussing over lunch what we could do to put the costume together & it seems very do-able. In fact, we already have some of the items.

Sadly, I am pretty sure that those two have been taken already. If not... Snow White would be a first choice for me. I have very pale skin and very dark hair. Oh well... I will figure something out.

Awww, man! Well, tell them if they don't want those princesses, then you get one of them. What about Princess Tiger Lily? Can you tell Peter Pan is big in my house?

:rotfl2: My dd has been too. She could never understand why other girls her age dressed the way they did or were as frivolous as they were.

I'm the same exact way!

Hahahah Mr. Smee! Love it!!!

Thanks! I think it'll be cute.

That's some kind of change I could easily live with! :rotfl2:

Great costume! And I am sure you will be successful putting it together. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think we'll be able to put it together fairly easy.

I like it... when you mentioned that Ed isn't fond of dressing up in costume, and then said he was going to be Peter Pan, I have to admit I wondered how that one was going to work.:confused3 :lmao:

Thanks! Yeah, I knew he wasn't overly thrilled about dressing up as Peter Pan. But, at least the costume I had found had pants & not tights! :rotfl:

I think this will be a much better costume, but are the Pirates going to be walking around with Wendy being their prisoner all night?

Unless Peter Pan jumps out of the parade to rescue Wendy, um I mean me....then yes, I will be a prisoner all night. :rotfl: Reid asked me today who was going to dress as John, Michael & the Lost Boys because he "needs more prisoners". :rotfl2:

If Reid is a fan of Jake and the Neverland Pirates, you could always go for a Mama Hook costume. :rolleyes1

I love Mama Hook! But I think I'll stick to dressing as Wendy. It's a wee bit simpler. :rotfl:

So fun MNSSHP:thumbsup2 Love the idea of eating right away to get it done early, we are doing that too.

Your plans look great, and cool on the costumes. I can't wait to see pictures from that night, :goodvibes

I remember when we did MVMCP in 2010, we waited until close to party time to eat. :sad2: What a nightmare! A lot of QS places were already closed. So everyone was pretty much at Casey's Corner. It was a nightmare! I definitely want to eat right away so we don't run into the same problem. Hopefully.

Thanks! I'm excited about our costume choices. I think it'll be a fun night!

Mr. Smee will be awesome! I love it! It should be easy to find all of the parts for it too:goodvibes

I like your changes too. I'm sure that will be so fun for Reid to get to pretend Mommy is his "prisoner." I know Anthony would be all over that!

You all are going to have such a great time!

I think the costume change is a great idea! He will be a lot more comfortable. Oh, wow, I am so jealous - being at WDW that time of year became a very brief tradition for us. I'm going to be shedding a few tears in October this year, I think.

I think it's going to work out very well! Yeah, I don't think it's going to be hard at all to put together. :yay:

Thanks! Oh yes, Reid keeps laughing that I'll be their prisoner all night. And he keeps telling Ed, "Daddy, now you get to be my 1st mate". :rotfl:

I think it's going to be a fun night for sure. :goodvibes

Thanks! I really do like the change, too. It will be comfortable and I think he'll enjoy the costume more.

Awww, I'm sorry y'all won't be going in October this year. At least you can live vicariously through my TR. :thumbsup2

I thought of Willow tonight - We had to go to Best Buy for something. Well, we ended up with 3 Disney movies, too of course. They were all princess movies. More for me than for Reid but whatever! Anyway, we bought Princess & the Frog (love that movie especially the music), Tangled (even Ed really likes this one) and Mary Poppins. Well, Reid has seen Princess & the Frog and Tangled but not Mary Poppins. So, I let him watch it tonight. He loved it! But, as soon as it got to the part where they're in Bert's painting & she has on her white dress, I couldn't help but to think of Miss Willow! :goodvibes

Mr. Smee is a great idea! And it'll be so cute with Reid as Captain Hook. I was wondering how on earth you pulled off getting your husband to wear tights! LOL!! I love fall too, especially up here in Vermont. It's so beautiful. The only negative is that it's so short and I know what's coming fast on its heels - months of freezing cold and tons of snow! :scared1:

Amanda, finally catching up! Reid is going to be perfect as Mr. Smee!

Back to more reading- can't wait to be all updated! :goodvibes

I think Smee will be a much better costume for Ed. The only way he had agreed to be Peter Pan was because the costume I found had pants instead of tights.

I would love to go to Vermont one year for the fall & see the leaves in all the beautiful colors. But, I definitely could not be there in the winter. :sad2: I don't even like "winter" here in south Louisiana. :rotfl2:

Hi, there! It'll actually be Ed as Mr. Smee & Reid as Captian Hook. I do think it's going to be perfect! Reid is very excited to have me (aka Wendy) as his prisoner & Daddy (aka Mr. Smee) as his 1st mate. :rotfl:

CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I know....y'all are shocked that I have another change to announce. :lmao: But this one is not my doing.....it is Ed's.

Okay, that's it for changes. For now. :rotfl2:
I wouldn't mind dressin like Mr.Snee...looks comfy :goodvibes

I LOVE Mr. Smee and I think that is a perfect costume...and one that I think you can easily put together. :goodvibes

I LOVE Mr. Smee and I think that is a perfect costume...and one that I think you can easily put together. :goodvibes

Thanks! I do think it suits Ed quite well. The only thing I need to get for the costume is the shirt & shorts. I may paint a shirt myself. The shorts I'll just find something close to what his look like. Oh - and I'm thinking of a way I can give Ed the big white sideburns like Mr. Smee.

Funny you say that about Tallahassee - we were discussing our stopping point this week. I was thinking of stopping around Pensacola. But, Ed has said that he really does want to stop closer to Tallahassee. I do think it would make our Friday a lot easier.

It really did work out perfectly staying in that area. It was just show enough of a drive the next morning to not be too long. Alexa even took a nap for about an hour of it. We're planning on crashing there too on the way down for our ladies trip in 2013.

We are going to be a group of like 10 gals when we go... the idea was we all pick a different princess to dress as. Could work... in theory. There are quite a few princesses. My dd's sil is planning on a princess from the Kingdom Hearts game. Ok... not park or movie princess... but Kingdom Hearts is a Disney game, so it counts right? And it will be a bit more obscure...and I am certain no one else in the group will want to be it. Dd keeps asking her though... "is it appropriate" :rotfl2: Apparently, even my 21 year old dd shares our opinion on costumes.

I HATE trying to find costumes. Sexy costumes were 30 lbs ago for me! and then I had no ****s, so I didn't want to wear them anyway!

I didn't realize y'all were dressing!!!!

It will be interesting to see how we pull it off. 10 princesses? Could be quite tricky.

As for dd... she came out and old prude ;) Not that you are... just saying... maybe she is :rolleyes1

I'm sure Kira would appreciate you calling her a prude! :lmao:

CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I know....y'all are shocked that I have another change to announce. :lmao: But this one is not my doing.....it is Ed's.

This morning, I was about to order his Peter Pan costume. But, I texted him 1st about it to make sure it wouldn't be too hot for him (he's very hot natured). Also, I had offered for him to be another character & asked once again if he'd rather be that person.

Well, after a few texts, he decided to be the other character we discussed. So, who is Ed going to be now? This fellow.......

There are no Mr. Smee costumes out there for purchase. Or at least none that I've seen. But, I think I can throw together the outfit myself.

Okay, that's it for changes. For now. :rotfl2:

I'm really excited about our costumes! When my friend said she could make a Wendy dress for me, I was so happy. And I was even happier when I realized it wouldn't be a very constricting costume & it wouldn't be too hot! :thumbsup2

Well, as you see above, Ed will now be Mr. Smee. But the Peter Pan costume I had found didn't have tights. I knew there was no way Ed would ever wear tights. The costume had the hat, a belt, a tunic top & pants.

I love the costume themeing!

I was kind of curious about Ed as well when she said Peter Pan! I was like my fiance isnt one for dressing up either. If I asked him to wear tights, he would have laughed at me! And you can't have Peter Pan without tights!

We went to Houston this past Saturday & on the way home Sunday, we discussed them some more. I'm just so afraid with us leaving after Ed gets off of work that it may be too far. But, Ed is insistent that it will be find. We're also looking at stopping in Marianna, FL which is close to Tallahassee.

Yeah, those costumes were quite a few pounds ago for me too! :sad2: It's such a pain now trying to find something. :headache:

I figured this is the only time & place I could ever convince Ed to dress up for Halloween.

I love the costume themeing!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Initially, I wanted Ed to be Cpt. Hook. But, OMG! The price for the adult Hook costumes were outrageous! That's why I was going to go with a Peter Pan in pants costume. :rotfl: But, I think Mr. Smee will work out much better!

I LOVE the costume ideas!!! How wonderful that your friend in making it for you!!! I can't wait to do MNSSHP next year.. 14 months out and I've been thinking about costumes for awhile! :lmao: I definetly agree about the womens costumes! I have a big bust line and a thick waste.. not keen on showing it all off to the world! lol

I LOVE the costume ideas!!!

Thank you! I'm really happy with the costumes we settled on.

How wonderful that your friend in making it for you!!!

It really is so wonderful of her. She's just the best friend a girl could ever ask for. She's truly like a sister to me.

I'm really excited to do MNSSHP for the 1st time. :yay: I would definitely be thinking about your costume. I started looking in March. So, it took be about 3 months to come up with something that worked for all 3 for us.

I understand about the big bust line. :sad2: Been that way all my life. My friend who is making my dress is the opposite & always teases me. I even had to find an addendum to the pattern I bought that is for making the bust line larger on the dress. :rotfl2:

Hey Amanda! Checking in - suddenly finding myself with more downtime than usual! :scared:

How are the trip plans going?

Aww - that is so sweet! I'm so glad that Reid enjoyed Mary Poppins. We just watched that last week here as well - it had been a while. You know, I am pretty sure that I had never seen that movie before I bought it for Willow! :scared1: I am secretly hoping that she decides to bring the Jolly Holiday dress on the cruise and that she actually wears it. :rolleyes1

Hi! I'm happy to see you being able to be on the boards more! :goodvibes

How are the trip plans going?

I think they've come together pretty well. I only have 1 thing (right now  ) that I'm debating. It's something pretty early on in our trip so I need to make a decision about it before that update. :rotfl: I should have an update rolling out in a couple of nights.

That has always been one of my favorite movies ever since I was a little girl. Today, we were cutting up a watermelon & I had Pandora up on the iPad playing Disney music. Every time a song from Mary Poppins came on, he would get all excited.

Willow should definitely wear the Mary Poppins dress on the cruise. Then, it would be like Mary really is on Holiday! :thumbsup2

You're not late! We're just getting this party started!

Thank you for following my previous TR. I'm so happy you found me here!

That is so cool that your DS is only 2 days older than Reid! I have found this age to be so much fun. It definitely has it challenges, don't get me wrong. :sad2: But, overall, we have a lot of fun.

That's great that you signed up for the 10 miler! :thumbsup2 I'm just hoping I can do the 5K without collapsing. :lmao: But, Ed is very excited to be running the 10 miler.
