I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

I think they've come together pretty well. I only have 1 thing (right now  ) that I'm debating. It's something pretty early on in our trip so I need to make a decision about it before that update. :rotfl: I should have an update rolling out in a couple of nights.
:crazy2: You know I can't handle these teasers!!!!! :rotfl2:

That has always been one of my favorite movies ever since I was a little girl. Today, we were cutting up a watermelon & I had Pandora up on the iPad playing Disney music. Every time a song from Mary Poppins came on, he would get all excited.
So cute!!! I do love the songs from that movie. We listen to the sound track in the car sometimes. ::yes::

Willow should definitely wear the Mary Poppins dress on the cruise. Then, it would be like Mary really is on Holiday! :thumbsup2
I agree! I just don't know whether she will be willing. She is VERY picky about what she wears - I get pretty much no input into these decisions anymore. :sad1:

I completely understand why you cannot keep surprises. I love talking to devyn about Disney world. He gets so excited and even more excited if it has anything to do with trains and the monorail. And he is mainly the only person at ho0me to talk too :rotfl:
I loved MNSSHP. I cannot wait until i can do it again. Im sure you all will have a good time and the costume idea with captain hook, smee, and Wendy is s cute for your family!

:rotfl: But, if I told all my plans at once, no one would come back. :rotfl:

It is a great soundtrack!

Oh goodness - it's already starting for you. :sad2: Have I mentioned I'm glad I have a boy? :lmao:

Exactly! I'm at home all day with Reid, so he is the person I talk to the most. And he just loves talking Disney so I can't help myself. A lot of the time, he brings it up.

I loved MNSSHP. I cannot wait until i can do it again. Im sure you all will have a good time and the costume idea with captain hook, smee, and Wendy is s cute for your family!

I'm so excited to get to experience MNSSHP!

Thanks - I have to say that I'm very happy with our costume choices. :goodvibes

:rotfl: But, if I told all my plans at once, no one would come back. :rotfl:
Meh - I would most certainly come back! I would happily discuss every detail of each plan every day until your trip started. :rolleyes1

Oh goodness - it's already starting for you. :sad2: Have I mentioned I'm glad I have a boy? :lmao:
It really started at about 2 - it was around then (a little before) that she developed her shoe obsession. Shortly after, she had to take charge of the clothing as well. It has just gotten worse over time. :worried: I really thought I would have several years of getting to pick out those cute outfits! NOPE! :rotfl2: If I had made it all the way down the path to a second child, I was really hoping for a boy - thought it would be a nice break! :rotfl:

We went to Houston this past Saturday & on the way home Sunday, we discussed them some more. I'm just so afraid with us leaving after Ed gets off of work that it may be too far. But, Ed is insistent that it will be find. We're also looking at stopping in Marianna, FL which is close to Tallahassee.

We actually ended up leaving at like 3:30-4pm. So we didn't leave very early. Had to wait till I got off work.

Meh - I would most certainly come back! I would happily discuss every detail of each plan every day until your trip started. :rolleyes1

:lmao: You crack me up! :lmao: I promise an update tonight! I would do it right now but we just finished lunch & Reid is asking me to go play superheroes with him. Duty calls! :rotfl:

She's a little fashionista! I feel for you & your wallet as she gets older. :rotfl2: I've never been a big "girly-girl" type girl, so it was probably a good thing that I had a boy.

I'm glad to know y'all didn't leave early either. I would like to be on the road by 4 but it will just depend on Ed's work. And we probably don't know how that will be until a day before. Only bad thing is, since we're in Lafayette, we have about an hour & a half more to go. :sad2:

I think mine started at 2 as well. There's no point buying any clothes that she's on the fence about, because she'll refuse to wear them.

I just finished organizing her closet. Skirts out number the pants 8/1. And she has almost 30 pairs of shoes. Most are sparkly. I am happiest in jeans and a t-shirt, so I really don't get it.:rotfl2:

You know I was not a real girly-girl myself until I got the news that I was going to be bringing home a daughter. Something snapped - maybe it was because I only got to see her every other month until the adoption was completed, maybe it was the years and years of waiting, I don't know - but once I knew she was going to be my daughter, I just became a pink-clothes-buying machine! :scared1: Every time I went to Guatemala to visit her, I took a suitcase full of clothes for her! And, well, I must have created a monster! :rotfl2:

BTW, the coolest thing about all those clothes is that I am Facebook friends with Willow's foster family in Guatemala. Two of her foster sisters had baby girls this year. And I have seen tons of Facebook pictures of those beautiful babies wearing all those clothes that I took down there!

Okay, did all that rambling give you enough time to post the update?

OMG! Uh yeah, it's good I had a boy. :rotfl2:

I can't even imagine & I feel like I spend a lot on Reid's clothes. :sad2: He has 4 pairs of shoes: 1 good pair of sandals, 1 pair of play sandals, 1 good pair of tennis shoes & 1 pair of "playground" tennis shoes.

I promise I'm going type it up as soon as I finish these responses! No, really, I mean it!

Okay....I'm off to type up the next update! :thumbsup2

Actually, just recently, I have gotten so fed up with Willow's refusal to wear things that she SAID she would wear if I bought that I have really reduced the amount of stuff I am willing to buy. It just kills me to buy things and then have them sit in her closet/dresser all season. I miss those days when I could order all kinds of cute things and then put her in them!

Oh, I consider them family. They are amazing and love Willow so much. I am so happy that she has so many people out there who love her. I can't wait until we can go back and visit and spend a good week or more in Guatemala. :cloud9:

It really does! :cloud9: I love that family so much, and I wish I could get down there to hold those babies myself, so I feel like I am there with them just a tiny bit because they are getting to use all those clothes that they can't get down there.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! And to the fathers reading along....

Happy Belated Father's Day!!!

We went to Houston on Saturday. Ed had a short business meeting that morning. We decided just to stay the night & do some fun stuff.

Anyway....back to Disney! :woohoo: When I last updated, I discussed our plans for doing MNSSHP on the night of Sunday, Sept. 30th. I am hoping for us to be in bed that night no later than 1230 am.

That brings us to Monday, October 1st.

We will probably need to wake up around 615am on this day. We'll get ready for the day & we'll have some breakfast items from home in our OKW studio.

By 8am we need to be leaving Disney.

WHAT?!? :scared1:

Don't worry, we're not headed home yet. We're just headed to.........

the Dark Side. *Bwahahahaha * (that's my evil laugh by the way)

Yes, we are going to Islands of Adventure. Ed & I LOVE this park. We love the coasters (we are adrenaline junkies) and one of Ed's all time favorite rides is here. However, I did consider skipping it this trip. We didn't do it last year & we were okay with that. So what made me change my mind? :confused3

This ride.........

WDW_sept_2007_895.jpg

I think I've mentioned that Reid has a HUGE love for superheroes these days. And Spiderman is definitely one of his favorites. And he's now tall enough to ride it! :woohoo:

I'm actually really excited to ride it as well. It's a great ride but it's been a few years since I've been on it. I remember the last time we rode it, thinking it needed a refresher. Well, they have finally listened to my telepathic request & the ride has been refreshed! :yay: This is one of the rides that Reid can't stop talking about how excited he is to try. And I can't even begin to say how many times I've had to show him videos of it on YouTube. But, that's not all we'll be doing!

Reid & I are big Dr. Seuss fans. So we'll definitely be spending some time in Seuss Land. He has already mentioned riding the Caro-Seuss-el, One Fish Two Fish, and his favorite Seuss ride.....

images

We may spend a little bit of time in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I am a huge Potter fan and we did this back in Dec 2010. But, I don't feel the huge need to spend a lot of time there again. But, we'll definitely go so that Ed & I can each ride the Dragon Challenge coaster.

Back in Marvel Superhero Island, there are 2 other rides that are absolute MUST do's for Ed & myself. The first being the best coaster I've ridden so far:

images

The Incredible Hulk

OMG! I can't even begin to express my love for this ride. I could seriously ride it all day long. One year, Ed & I rode it 6 times in a row. It still wasn't enough for me.

Now the other must do ride is only a must do for Ed. This is one of his favorite rides. I've done it once & never again. I DESPISE this ride:

images

Dr. Doom's Fearfall

For anyone who isn't familiar with this evil ride, here's the setup:

You have two towers. On each tower there are 4 sides with 4 chairs. You sit & buckle yourself up REALLY tight. You're sitting there all nonchalant enjoying the fresh outdoor air & then......AAAAAAGGGHHHH! They send you rocketing into the air & you feel like you will fly out into oblivion. I have never screamed on a ride so much in all of my life. I knew I was going to fly out of that thing & fly across the park & die. :scared1: Never again. But, I love Tower of Terror! :confused3

At some point, we'll need to grab some lunch. Back in 2010, we did the Harry Potter restaurant, the 3 Broomsticks & it was sooo good. But, this year we're going to just do a quick counterservice type meal. We'll probably eat somewhere in the superhero area since I'm sure that's where we'll spend most of our time. I can't wait to see how many times Reid makes us ride Spiderman.

Other than that, there are some characters there we do need to try & meet:

Spiderman, Captain America and Wolverine.

I know that Dr. Doom is also sometimes out to meet people. I just don't know if Reid would actually go up & meet him. Doom is one of his favorite villains but that's when he's on the TV & not in person. :rotfl:

Since we don't have a very long to do list here, it won't be a full park day. My goal is for us to leave no later than 4pm. But, we could possibly leave around 2pm.

Once we leave IoA, we'll drive back to OKW. We'll rest for a bit and then start getting ready for the night. Remember how I was contemplating if we should go to Epcot on the 30th anniversary or not? I finally made a decision!

But, you have to wait until the next update to find out what I decided! *Bwahahaha*

If I had a little boy, I'd be at IoA too. He'll go crazy for the super hero area!

My DH and I love roller coasters too. I can't wait until Maddie is tall enough to ride them, there's a really good Six Flags 30 mins from here when we can't be at Disney!

I haven't been to US/IoA in a really long time, but is it just dead in the off-season? I can't believe that won't be a 'full day' there!

So, have you been watching Around the World in 80 plates? It's Top Chef mixed with Amazing Race and a dash of Survivor! I love it!

And the Glass House? I watched the first episode, and they definitely full from the same casting pool as Big Brother. Lotsa rocket scientists.

And my new obsession? Dance Moms. It's so bad, and I love it!

I think we'll have a lot of fun. I'll just have a hard time getting him away from the gift shops. :sad2:

Ed & I said Reid has to like roller coasters. He has no choice. :rotfl2: We want to get up to Cedar Point one day. And we were thinking of going to Disneyland in a couple of years. But, once we realized that we could do it & Six Flags Magic Mountain, we decided to wait until Reid's older. Have you checked out some of the coasters at Magic Mountain? They have some scary cool ones!

We went on a Saturday in Dec 2010 & it wasn't crowded at all. The Harry Potter area was the only area with crowds. I think we left around 3pm. So, I definitely see us leaving a few hours after lunch.

LOVE that show! In fact, I'm catching up on shows right now & I have to watch last night's episode of that next. I can't decide who I want to win though. Who are you pulling for?

And the Glass House? I watched the first episode, and they definitely full from the same casting pool as Big Brother. Lotsa rocket scientists.

I haven't seen that one. I've been reading about the legal battles but haven't checked it out.

And my new obsession? Dance Moms. It's so bad, and I love it!

OMG - I love that show! I don't watch it regularly but I watch it late at night a lot of times. I'm such a night owl so I always watch junk reality TV at night. :rotfl2: My other late night guilty obsession: Toddlers & Tiaras. :rolleyes1 It's like a trainwreck.....I just can't stop watching & change the channel.

I haven't looked into Magic Mountain-I'll have to check it out. We have been to Cedar Point though, and it was awesome! We haven't been for about 10 years though, I can't imagine how awesome it is now. The Six Flags in Chicago has a really great Superman ride. You basically ride laying on your stomach --or flying like Superman. It's intense!

I'm catching up on it too. Thank goodness for on demand! I think I like Nookie, the Asian girl, and the girl who lost her dad. Though as soon as I pick a favorite, they usually get kicked off right away! :rotfl:

I haven't seen that one. I've been reading about the legal battles but haven't checked it out.

It's not good, but of course I'm watching!

I'm on demanding Dance Moms too. I love it! It's totally one of those shows that you have to watch after the husband goes to bed. I can't listen to his grumbling when I watch my programs. :rotfl:

Toddlers and Tiaras is the BEST!!!! I love that one. Those people are NUTS!!! I always watch that one late at night. I refuse to let Maddie see any of it. Not only do I not want her picking up any of the behavior, but I'm also afraid she'd want to do pageants!

I did try one episode of the Housewives last week. I think it was orange county, and one of them sang with the P***cat Dolls? I could totally see myself getting hooked. Which city is the best?

Have you watched any of the Kathy Griffin talk show? I like her reality show and her stand up, but I'm not sure if I'd like the talk show.

You'll definitely have to look up Six Flags Magic Mountain. It's is Los Angeles. Seems like they have a good bit of coasters & some of them look quite intimidating.

That's great! It's been so long since we've been there-we may have to check it out one of these days.

I'd say it's definitely worth doing at least every now & then. I think for our 2014 trip (hopefully we will have one then), we'll start off at Universal & maybe even stay there for 2 days & then move to Disney.

I'm catching up on it too. Thank goodness for on demand! I think I like Nookie, the Asian girl, and the girl who lost her dad. Though as soon as I pick a favorite, they usually get kicked off right away!

Yeah, I like Nookie & the other guy that's left (can't remember his name). I also like Avery (the one who lost her dad). Just saw who got kicked off this week. Do you know who it is? I don't want to spoil anything.

It's not good, but of course I'm watching!

:lmao: Don't you hate it when that happens?

I'm on demanding Dance Moms too. I love it! It's totally one of those shows that you have to watch after the husband goes to bed. I can't listen to his grumbling when I watch my programs. :rotfl:

Oh yeah, Ed laughs at me about some of the things I'll watch.

I am soooo relieved to know I'm not the only person who watches that show! :rotfl2: I never want to admit that I watch it sometimes.

I don't blame you for not wanting Maddie to see it! :scared1:

My favorite little girl? Honey boo boo child! Have you seen her? :sad2:

I did try one episode of the Housewives last week. I think it was orange county, and one of them sang with the P***cat Dolls? I could totally see myself getting hooked. Which city is the best?

That would be Orange County that you were watching. My favorites are Orange County & Beverly Hills. But, I do also watch New York & New Jersey. I don't watch Atlanta on a regular basis, just when nothing else is on.

Have you watched any of the Kathy Griffin talk show? I like her reality show and her stand up, but I'm not sure if I'd like the talk show.

I can only take her in small doses so I have not watched the show yet.

That looks like a lot of fun. I don't know that I'd call the Hulk my favorite coaster, but it has got to be somewhere near the top of the list. Some of my college friends and I went to Orlando for a week a year after we graduated to have some fun and hang out together. We got the week long Universal pass and I'd hate to try and guess how many times we rode Hulk. I never get motion sickness from coasters, but one day I finally had to say enough was enough.:lmao:

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new updates to Spiderman when we go as well. I've always enjoyed it, especially the part where it makes you feel like you're falling.

Are you just doing IOA? Have you done the new coaster that they put in on the other side? I haven't been since it was built. Gotta be honest, I'm a lot more excited about that than seeing Harry Potter for the first time. :rolleyes1

So I missed the Mr. Smee update, but I think that is an awesome choice for Ed! I love that he is going to be Reid's 1st mate, Reid will have so much fun with that all night!

And I'm a little jealous that you are going to IoA! I haven't been since 2007, and I'd love to get back to ride the Hulk and see the new Harry Potter land. I'm totally with you about Dr. Doom's freefall. DH managed to talk me on it, and I thought I was going to DIE! Never will step foot on one of those things again! ToT is fine, I'm OK in an encased space, but just dangling up there in the sky- NO WAY!

We'll be back someday, but I want to wait until Everett (and now new baby) are old enough to enjoy it. Or maybe one of these big family trips I can get my Mom and Dad to watch Everett and new baby, and DH and I can sneak away to IoA for a day!
