I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

That looks like a lot of fun. I don't know that I'd call the Hulk my favorite coaster, but it has got to be somewhere near the top of the list. Some of my college friends and I went to Orlando for a week a year after we graduated to have some fun and hang out together. We got the week long Universal pass and I'd hate to try and guess how many times we rode Hulk. I never get motion sickness from coasters, but one day I finally had to say enough was enough.:lmao:

Hulk is such a fun coaster! Many moons ago, Ed & I went on a trip to do only the Universal parks. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel & it was the end of August. No one was there! And since we were hotel guests, we could bypass the regular line. It was insane how much we rode Hulk & the Dragon coaster.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new updates to Spiderman when we go as well. I've always enjoyed it, especially the part where it makes you feel like you're falling.

I love that part! I'm excited to see it with the refurbished screens. From what I've read, it's such a crisp picture now that you can even see the stitching in Spiderman's outfit.

Are you just doing IOA? Have you done the new coaster that they put in on the other side? I haven't been since it was built. Gotta be honest, I'm a lot more excited about that than seeing Harry Potter for the first time. :rolleyes1

That coaster does look fun! We're just going to do IoA on this trip. But, I told Ed that I think I want to do both Universal parks during our 2014 trip. I'm thinking of starting off our trip there for 2 days, staying at Hard Rock. Then, moving to a Disney resort.

So I missed the Mr. Smee update, but I think that is an awesome choice for Ed! I love that he is going to be Reid's 1st mate, Reid will have so much fun with that all night!

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to that night. I feel like the plans are really starting to come together.

And I'm a little jealous that you are going to IoA! I haven't been since 2007, and I'd love to get back to ride the Hulk and see the new Harry Potter land. I'm totally with you about Dr. Doom's freefall. DH managed to talk me on it, and I thought I was going to DIE! Never will step foot on one of those things again! ToT is fine, I'm OK in an encased space, but just dangling up there in the sky- NO WAY!

Harry Potter is definitely worth going to see at least once. I am excited that they'll be expanding it, too. But who knows when that will be finished.

I'm so glad someone else feels the same way as me about the Dr. Doom ride! :scared1: ToT is so much more my speed for those types of rides. I think you're right - it's the encased space that makes it better.

We'll be back someday, but I want to wait until Everett (and now new baby) are old enough to enjoy it. Or maybe one of these big family trips I can get my Mom and Dad to watch Everett and new baby, and DH and I can sneak away to IoA for a day!

That would definitely be fun if your Mom & Dad could watch the boys for y'all to go. Then once they're a little older you could take them. I'm sure Everett (& the new baby if it's a boy) will eventually go through a superhero phase. So, it would be fun to take him them. And the Seuss Land really is so cute & fun too!

Your plan sounds great!!! :cool1: I really want to visit The Dark Side myself someday. I have been waiting because I didn't think there would be much for Willow to do over there at her current height. :confused3 I am even more excited for your TR now!!! :woohoo:

If I had a little boy, I'd be at IoA too. He'll go crazy for the super hero area!

My DH and I love roller coasters too. I can't wait until Maddie is tall enough to ride them, there's a really good Six Flags 30 mins from here when we can't be at Disney!

I haven't been to US/IoA in a really long time, but is it just dead in the off-season? I can't believe that won't be a 'full day' there!

So, have you been watching Around the World in 80 plates? It's Top Chef mixed with Amazing Race and a dash of Survivor! I love it!

And the Glass House? I watched the first episode, and they definitely full from the same casting pool as Big Brother. Lotsa rocket scientists.

And my new obsession? Dance Moms. It's so bad, and I love it!
I LOVE Around the World in 80 plates! But I didn't realize Glass House had already started. :sad2: I totally meant to watch it. I am going to have to search for it!

So much to comment on!

Reid will have a blast at IOA. We went last year and Anthony loved it. The Spiderman ride blew him away. The whole ride he was yelling, " mom! We are helping Spiderman!"

One of my favorite moments from our trip last year was when Anthony met Spiderman. He had on a shirt that had Spiderman, Captain America, Thor and n Man on it. Anthony was completely star struck. Spiderman asks Ant who his favorite superhero is on his shirt and Anthony says, "Thor.":lmao: Spiderman said, "Thor? Well I appreciate your honesty." Everyone in line was laughing.

Chad's favorite is Captain America so we got in line for him. As soon as we got in line he left for a 30 or so minute break. During the break Anthony met Dr. Doom and Green Goblin. I think Reid will be fine. Then it started sprinkling. The heroes do not meet in ANY rain and no one told us. I didn't like that, I thought the handlers could have let us know. They just drove their vehicles out and then went back in. At least we only waited one session, a family in front of us waited 3 times already. So we didn't meet Captain America. Chad is still upset:rotfl2:

I am right there with you on Dr Dooms free fall. I walk right by that thing; do not pass Go, do not collect $200. I rode it many years ago and I hated it! And TOT is my fave ride! It is that I'm shooting up straight in the air, I can't see where I'm going to stop feeling that does it. Ugh, no thank you.

I rode the Hulk for the first time last year, so fun! Chad kelt saying he would ride then would come up with excuses:rolleyes1 We didn't even go over to Seussland:sad2: we only had one day to do both parks so we were really rushed. Next time I would def want a day just for IOA.

My dad and I went to Magic Mountain many moons ago. It was awesome! They had the best roller coaster I have ever been on, X. I don't know if that's still there or not. :confused3

I love Around the World in 80 Plates too. I guess I'm rooting for Nookie since my family are all Red Sox fans. And you watch Housewives? Oh boy could we talk, lol. I watch them all!:scared1: Beverly Hills is my favorite and I really like OC. I used to love NJ but its getting so ugly. The only Toddlers and Tiaras I've seen was what was featured on Anderson Coopers talk show. I'm afraid to start watching because I'm sure I wouldn't be able to stop.

BTW, the coolest thing about all those clothes is that I am Facebook friends with Willow's foster family in Guatemala. Two of her foster sisters had baby girls this year. And I have seen tons of Facebook pictures of those beautiful babies wearing all those clothes that I took down there!

That is so amazing, I  it. I hope you and Willow get to visit them soon!

We debated adding a day at IOA too for the super hero factor, but decided against it, so I'll be very anxious to read your TR and hear all about Reids interactions and how he likes the rides. I bet you are all going to have a GREAT time:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know there is like a Super hero/Marvel cafe or something that I think is a QS but I've never been so I'm not sure, I just remember reading something.

Can't wait to see what you decided about Epcotpopcorn::

I looooove super heroes! If I had a son who was a fan, I know I'd get up the courage to leave Disney for a little while too! (But until then, I'll be fine sticking with WDW haha!)

The Spiderman ride sounds AWESOME. I really, really, REALLY LOVE Spiderman. Although I won't lie, I'm not as excited about him recently since they had to go and make this new Spiderman movie... it's seriously been ten years since the other movie came out and only five years since Spiderman 3 came out. GIVE IT SOME TIME! Hahah sorry, I've just been slightly annoyed about that ever since I first heard about it.

Will Thor be there at IoA? I love Captain America too, but Thor is my new favorite. Only it wouldn't be nearly as cool to meet Thor if it wasn't Chris Hemsworth... :rolleyes1

Okay, sorry for blabbing like that. Your day sounds like a lot of fun! The Suess area looks adorable! Can't wait to hear about your plans (or lack of plans) for Epcot 30!

Yeah, I definitely think he'll enjoy it more than he did back in 2010. The only rides he got to enjoy on that trip were the Seuss Landing ones.

That is so cute! I can't wait to see what Reid thinks of the ride.

One of my favorite moments from our trip last year was when Anthony met Spiderman. He had on a shirt that had Spiderman, Captain America, Thor and n Man on it. Anthony was completely star struck. :lmao: Love it! :lmao: Gotta love how honest kids are....no matter who you are!

Chad's favorite is Captain America so we got in line for him. As soon as we got in line he left for a 30 or so minute break. During the break Anthony met Dr. Doom and Green Goblin. Chad is still upset:rotfl2:

Awww man, that stinks! They definitely should've let y'all know that. I didn't realize Green Goblin did meet & greets too! Reid loves him too. One of his favorite bedtime stories is with Spiderman & Green Goblin. I hope he'll meet the bad guys, too.

I hate that feeling! So glad I'm not alone. I'm going to make sure Ed reads all of these responses so he will see I'm not the only who likes ToT but NOT Dr. Doom's.

I rode the Hulk for the first time last year, so fun! Chad kelt saying he would ride then would come up with excuses:rolleyes1 We didn't even go over to Seussland:sad2: we only had one day to do both parks so we were really rushed. Next time I would def want a day just for IOA.

You have to go back & tell him "NO Excuses this year!" :rotfl2: It really is such a fun ride!

Seuss land really is cute & fun. It usually doesn't take us a lot of time to do the things we like to do there but it is fun.

My dad and I went to Magic Mountain many moons ago. It was awesome! They had the best roller coaster I have ever been on, X. I don't know if that's still there or not. :confused3

I really can't wait to go when Reid is older. :woohoo: I think they've upgraded X & it is now X2. It looks awesome!

I love Around the World in 80 Plates too. I guess I'm rooting for Nookie since my family are all Red Sox fans.

I like Nookie too. And Avery. I'd be fine with either one of them winning.

And you watch Housewives? Oh boy could we talk, lol. I watch them all!:scared1: Beverly Hills is my favorite and I really like OC. I used to love NJ but its getting so ugly.

ME! I watch all of them religiously except for Atlanta & Miami. NJ is getting ugly. Ok - are you on Team Teresa or everyone else? What do you think of the new ladies on NY this season? Oooohhh....& I can't wait to see the OC finale!

The only Toddlers and Tiaras I've seen was what was featured on Anderson Coopers talk show. I'm afraid to start watching because I'm sure I wouldn't be able to stop.

Yes, it's very hard to turn off. Even though you feel awful about watching it you just can't stop.

We debated adding a day at IOA too for the super hero factor, but decided against it, so I'll be very anxious to read your TR and hear all about Reids interactions and how he likes the rides. I bet you are all going to have a GREAT time:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know....it can be hard to justify the cost to spend a day there. I think we're going to have fun though. I just hope Reid will meet the different characters....even the bad guys.

I know there is like a Super hero/Marvel cafe or something that I think is a QS but I've never been so I'm not sure, I just remember reading something.

Yeah, I know there's one place across from Spiderman. And then there's a play next to the Hulk....I think that's where we'll try to eat.

Can't wait to see what you decided about Epcotpopcorn::

I'll be excited to tell y'all.......it may be surprising. :rolleyes1

I looooove super heroes! If I had a son who was a fan, I know I'd get up the courage to leave Disney for a little while too! (But until then, I'll be fine sticking with WDW haha!)

I love them too! I love all sorts of geeky stuff though - superheroes, Star Wars, Potter. I'm happy Reid loves all these things too. It's a lot of fun to get to expose him to these things we love.

The ride is fantastic!

You know....I felt that way about the movie at first, too. But, after Spiderman 3, they did need to do something to redeem the franchise because that movie was awful. The more I see trailers for the new movie, the more excited I get to see it.

Will Thor be there at IoA? I love Captain America too, but Thor is my new favorite. Only it wouldn't be nearly as cool to meet Thor if it wasn't Chris Hemsworth... :rolleyes1

No, unfortunately I don't think Thor or Iron Man are there. I know that will disappoint Reid. Yeah, I definitely wouldn't mind meeting Thor if it was really Chris Hemsworth.

Okay, sorry for blabbing like that. Your day sounds like a lot of fun! The Suess area looks adorable! Can't wait to hear about your plans (or lack of plans) for Epcot 30!

Babble away! I like to babble away here with y'all.

I think it will be a fun day. I love the Seuss area especially since I'm such a big fan of his stories.

Hmmmm....our plans for Epcot's 30th.....that'll be in the update next week I promise. :goodvibes

Yeah, I definitely think he'll enjoy it more than he did back in 2010. The only rides he got to enjoy on that trip were the Seuss Landing ones.

Yes, it's very hard to turn off. Even though you feel awful about watching it you just can't stop.

I would love to get back to IoA one day. The only problem is the added expense. We added up how much money we spent on just that one day last year and oh my word.:scared1: It was a lot. But we did park to park (which is more expensive than a two day single park ticket) plus Chad hates lines so he bought us all the Express pass too. We bought a ton of souvenirs as well. So that adds up:lmao: I am thinking next year to maybe stay at Universal on-site for two nights then head to Disney. The hotels there look really nice.

Ok, now for the serious stuff; housewives.:lmao: I will be able to properly answer these questions after this weekend as I am seriously behind. Chad doesn't know it yet but he will be watching the kids while I get my Bravo fix over the next couple days:rolleyes1:rotfl:

I have not watched any NY yet so I can't give an opinion on the new ladies. I was Team Bethenny when she was on although she's a little much.

I have never really liked Teresa but I don't like Melissa either. I don't think she's as innocent as she claims to be. Jacqueline has always been my favorite in the previous seasons but she seems to be losing it this year. At least based on what she's been putting on Twitter. I am a couple episodes behind though so I will keep you updated on how I feel. The last episode I watched was Field Day. Gia, the attitude on her!:rotfl2:

On OC I used to like Tamra but she's just so mean this year. I don't know how I feel about Gretchen. I don't like how she's just dropped Alexis because Tamra wants to be friends now. I don't get why everyone is just dogging on Alexis either. What's up with the OC girls all dating sleazy guys too? I don't care for any of the guys except maybe Heather's husband. The finale should be good and apparently the reunion was pretty juicy. :happytv:

It is a fun park but I do find we spend way too much money for the time we spend there. The only Universal hotel we have stayed at was Hard Rock Hotel but we LOVED it. It's a very nice hotel. You can walk to the parks or take a water taxi to CitiWalk. I want us to stay there in 2014 for 2 nights to do both parks then move to Disney.

:lmao: Yes, I agree - this is the stuff that matters! You definitely need a Bravo weekend to catch up!

I have not watched any NY yet so I can't give an opinion on the new ladies. I was Team Bethenny when she was on although she's a little much.

I loved Bethenny when she was on RHONY. I watched the 1st season of her own show. I started watching the 2nd season but just couldn't watch anymore. It just seemed like her & Jason were always fighting & she was always sad. I found it too depressing.

Ok, catch up on NY because I want to know what you think of the new ladies! Oh - and were you glad about the ones they kept & the ones they got rid of?

I love to talk housewives!

I have never really liked Teresa but I don't like Melissa either. I don't think she's as innocent as she claims to be. I've always disliked Teresa. While I don't love Melissa, I like her more than Teresa. I do think Jacqueline is going a bit cuckoo. And as for her daughter! That girl needs a serious attitude adjustment! :headache: You know who I love? Kathy & her whole family!

On OC I used to like Tamra but she's just so mean this year. I don't know how I feel about Gretchen. I don't like how she's just dropped Alexis because Tamra wants to be friends now. I have to admit - I really, really dislike Alexis. Tamra is a mean girl but I still like her better than Alexis & Vicki. I do like Gretchen but I don't understand her being with Slade. YUCK! And that Brooks guy? Double yuck? I'm warming up to Eddie. I have to say that I love Heather & her husband! And what about Alexis & Gretchen's friend, Sara? She is certifiable crazy!!!

Looks like a fun day! Leaving to go to IOA... just one of the things you can do when you have your own car, eh? That hulk coaster looks absolutely terrifying.:scared1: I would never ever ever ever EVER survive it. :rotfl: Good for you for being so brave!:thumbsup2

We love IOA:love: Even vacation resisant DH has said that as soon as Caitlin hits the height requirement for the Hulk we are planning a trip to Universal.

I am hoping to do a split stay with one of the Universal Resorts/ Disney next time we go back as a family. The resorts look pretty nice and I love the express pass there.

the hotels at US look really nice. I have only seen pics of Royal Pacific or whatever it's called but I'm going to look up Hard Rock Hotel. I really like the idea of having 2 nights there than moving to Disney.

:lmao: Yes, I agree - this is the stuff that matters! You definitely need a Bravo weekend to catch up!

I sooo need to catch up!

I love to talk housewives!

I love to talk housewives too! They are all so nuts there is always plenty to discuss.

I feel the exact same way about Bethenny and her show. I thinks it's really hard to watch because they are always arguing and miserable. I just thought Alex and her husband were weird. I think Kelly actually has something wrong with her, but she was entertaining because she's so out there. She def brought the crazy! Jill seems very bitter. I liked her in the beginning but after all that happened with B she just came across very jealous.

[/FONT] Last season I was totally team everyone else. This year they are all just getting on my nerves I think.:lmao: I do like Kathy. I really want to go to her house when she is making all those desserts! I can not even watch Jaq's daughter. I would be crazy too if I had too deal with that all the time I guess.

It's not that I really like Alexis, I just don't like how they all ganged up in her while on a trip. It's not like she could leave and go home. (ETA I just watched the 2nd part of that & Gretchen did stand up for her so never mind lol) Slade, ugh he's so gross! He's such a moocher, she could do way better. Brooks is awful! He gives me the creeps every time I see him. Blech! He is using Vicki for her money. Vicki has always been crazy but she's really losing it now. She needs to listen to her daughter. Sara is from another planet! I was like who is this? I do like Heather and her husband they seem to have a great relationship.

ETA: I decided to start a thread on the community board where we could talk about our reality TV!

Don't worry, we're not headed home yet. We're just headed to.........

the Dark Side. *Bwahahahaha * (that's my evil laugh by the way)

But, you have to wait until the next update to find out what I decided! *Bwahahaha*

LOVE the dark side! LOVE yor plans!!! Excited for the next update!

Yeah, it'll be nice to have our car down there with us. Last time we did IOA, we took a Mears shuttle which was relatively cheap. But, we were ready to go earlier than our pick up time so that had to be dealt with.

Sure you could survive the Hulk! The key is to scream really loud....or laugh.

We love IOA:love: Even vacation resisant DH has said that as soon as Caitlin hits the height requirement for the Hulk we are planning a trip to Universal.

It really is a fun park! That's great the likes IOA, too. At least you know how to talk him back into going! :thumbsup2

I am hoping to do a split stay with one of the Universal Resorts/ Disney next time we go back as a family. The resorts look pretty nice and I love the express pass there.

Me, too! I told Ed my idea of doing that. He wants to see how we do with 2 resorts on this year's trip first. But, I have a feeling it will be fine.

LOVE the dark side! LOVE yor plans!!! Excited for the next update!

Thanks! I think it'll be a fun day!

the hotels at US look really nice. I have only seen pics of Royal Pacific or whatever it's called but I'm going to look up Hard Rock Hotel. I really like the idea of having 2 nights there than moving to Disney.

Yeah, I like the idea the more I think about it. I'm partial to Hard Rock just because it "fits" our family well. And I like the walk to the parks.

I love to talk housewives too! They are all so nuts there is always plenty to discuss.

They are all crazy indeed!

I feel the exact same way about Bethenny and her show. I thinks it's really hard to watch because they are always arguing and miserable. I just thought Alex and her husband were weird. I liked her in the beginning but after all that happened with B she just came across very jealous.

I couldn't agree with you more on every single one of them! And Bethenny looks like she's getting a little too skinny. I think she's too busy to eat.

Last season I was totally team everyone else. This year they are all just getting on my nerves I think. I do like Kathy. I really want to go to her house when she is making all those desserts! I can not even watch Jaq's daughter. I would be crazy too if I had too deal with that all the time I guess.

Her daughter is awful! I would love to go to Kathy's house when she's baking! Her kids are so sweet & funny!

It's not that I really like Alexis, I just don't like how they all ganged up in her while on a trip. It's not like she could leave and go home. Sara is from another planet! I was like who is this? I do like Heather and her husband they seem to have a great relationship.

Yeah, I didn't think they should've done it there. Gretchen did try to stand up for her & also tried to help her understand what they were saying. But, she just saw it as Gretchen ganging up on her too.

Brooks is disgusting. He keeps saying, "It's just because I'm a southern gentlemen." Uh....no. I am married to a southern gentlemen. And while they are extremely nice & caring, etc......they aren't fake about it. They don't do things just to be doing them. Know what I mean?

Fun! I'll have to go subscribe! :yay:

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I can't believe I forgot to say this in my update I did Thursday but.......

we are in DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

As of today, we will officially be in Disney in 96 days! :woohoo::woohoo:

And we'll be leaving in 95! :yay::yay:

Yesterday, I went to my friend's house. The one who is making my Wendy dress. Reid & I were there from 10am to 7pm. I'm sure she was ready to get rid of us.

But, we got everything needed to make the dress, got the pattern & fabric cut out & she started sewing it! :yay:

She was able to get it put together enough to do a 1st fitting. I'll probably have to go back in a couple of weeks for 1 more fitting & then she'll finish it!

It is looking soooooo fantastic!

:woohoo: double digits!! That is one feeling I love - only one better? SINGLE digits - and it won't be long! :goodvibes

Hey I just found your PTR and I'm joining in! We will be there the same time as you and I have started walking trying to get in shape to do the 5K but alas life has gotten in the way and I have slacked. But I did check out this couch to 5K and have decided to start that tomorrow!!!! I would love to be in shape enough to run the princess half!

We will also be at the same party as you! My girls are going as Jasmine and Pocahontas, but I don't think I will be dressing up this year (I went as a mousekateer last year)
