I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm really starting to think about an Etsy shop to sell these things. My only conundrum is how I would get posters shipped to people without all the Mickey heads & such falling off.

Hi, everybody! Hope y'all are having a great start to the week. So far, mine is okay. It's just going to be an extremely busy week. :sad2: So, I thought I would get back to our Disney plans so I don't have to think about the 101 other things I need to get done. :lmao:

When I left y'all last week, we had exited the Magic Kingdom & were headed to either the monorail or to a boat. So, where exactly will be heading this night?

Yep....we're headed to the Polynesian! But where are going for dinner? Of course, the options are plentiful at the Polynesian. You have Kona Cafe, 'Ohana, the Luau show and Captain Cook's if you want something quick. We've done Kona Cafe (very good) and the luau show (it's alright). This year we are finally going to experience dinner at 'Ohana! :cool1:

I have been trying to get an ADR here the last few trips & it has never worked out. The only times I could ever get were like 9 or 930pm. I don't like to eat that late & I'm sure my child would not do so well with a late dinner. So, I was very excited when I was able to get a 705pm ADR for this year!

From everything I've read on the boards, I'm fully expecting for us to have to wait for our table. Hopefully, the wait won't be terribly long though. While waiting, I may have to get one of these to try:

For those of you who have gotten a Lapu Lapu before, can you get them at the bar that is outside of 'Ohana? And do you know if they have any child friendly beverages like fruit punch or something? If I get something to drink, I know Reid will want something. And if I don't get him something, you may as well go ahead & cue the tantrum. If not, I may just wait until we're seated to order my drink.

Anyway, Ed has been very excited to eat here ever since I told him that it's all-you-can-eat skewered meat. I'm excited to eat here just to see what the fuss is all about. It would be really neat if we were still in there when Hallowishes goes off at 930pm. But, if not, we may head down to the Poly beach to watch them. Of course, since this will be near the end of the trip, we may be too tired & just head back to OKW & hit the bed!

UP NEXT: The first half of our last full park day. Can you believe that?!? I'm getting close to not having any more updates for y'all. That means our trip is getting really close! :cool1:

I hope you love 'Ohana - I know so many on here do! Can't wait to read about your experience.

I would bet BIG MONEY that whoever takes your drink order while you wait for your table will be more than happy to get something for Reid too. :thumbsup2 I don't remember whether we ordered something for Willow while we waited (in 2010), but I know they would have brought something for her if we had. ::yes::

Yay!!! I'm so glad that you guys are trying 'Ohana!

I'd heard so much about it, and I'm so glad that we booked it. It was delish! Now, of course, Bryan expects me to be able to get us and ADR there fore every trip. :rolleyes2

amanda They will get Reid whatever he would like....I am sure... Our kiddos did sodas (that's a special treat for them) And Ed will love the all-you-can-eat MEAT MEAT MEAT>>>GO MEAT!!!:goodvibes

Loving the PTR so far!! Can't wait to read more! I've heard great reviews of the Ohana!

Good call! I kind of wanted to try Ohana on our trip, but of the very little feedback I did get from the family, it was that nobody was interested in it.

So happy that you were finally able to get your long-awaited Ohana reservation. It really is a fun meal. The only thing I hate is that they serve the shrimp last and I am always way too full to eat them by then. I love the wings and I love the noodles. I can get full just on the apps.

I know they serve the lapu lapus at the bar. I have never had one, but I have heard they are A-mazing! Need to put that on the list of this trip. ;)

Every now & then I run across a bad review of 'Ohana. But, for the most part, it seems like people love it. Hopefully, we will too!

I really hope I can get him something....especially if the wait for our table is a long one.

I hope it's a great meal for us, too! I have a feeling Ed will love it. That's funny that Bryan expects this ADR now. Does he not know how early one must wake up on the 180 day to get a decent time here? :rotfl:

Yeah, Reid only gets fruit punch or soda when we eat at restaurants that don't have milk. I'm glad to know I'll be able to get him something. :thumbsup2

This literally made me :rotfl2:!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes I'm so excited to finally try 'Ohana!

Awww man....that stinks! The one time they give you feedback & it's to veto a place you want to eat at. :headache: Oh well....that just means you'll have to plan another trip without all the extended family! :thumbsup2

I am so glad you told me this about the shrimp! I could eat shrimp every single day. I'll have to make sure I save some room in my belly for them!

I know they serve the lapu lapus at the bar. I have never had one, but I have heard they are A-mazing! Need to put that on the list of this trip. ;)

They look wonderful! I can't wait to try one. And I think by the end of the trip I may really need one. :lmao:

I can't wait to read your review of 'Ohana! I would really love to try it one day.

Lapu Lapus are really good! Wow 37 days? Your trip is coming up quick!

AHHHHH 'OHANA! Okay, I know I haven't gotten to that part in my TR yet (not even close) but let me just say, it was my FAVORITE meal of the trip! I looooved it. It was fantastic. YUM YUM YUM. I'm willing to bet that yall will just love it too!

You guys are not going to be disappointed with Ohana! I'm so happy you scored a ADR there! As for the bar- you can certainly get a Lapu lapu at the bar outside of Ohana, and they will get Reid whatever he would like. They even make virgin coladas and daquiris and things like that if you're looking to get him a treat! Also don't forget the simple goodness of a shirley temple, I have recently rediscovered them now that I'm preggo and can't have real bar drinks. Somehow drinking a drink invented for a five year old makes me feel less lame at the bar- you figure that one out! :rotfl2:

Oh and you MUST watch Hallowishes from the beach, it is simply the best view around! I think you get a better view from the Poly than you do from Main St- AND they pipe in the music! Its heavenly!

I'm am sooo happy to hear that about the bar there!

That's funny about the Shirley Temple! :lmao: If it makes you feel better - I have been known to send Ed late at night out to Sonic just to get me a Sprite with Cherry syrup. :rolleyes1

That's it.....you've convinced me! We will have to stay to watch Hallowishes from the Poly beach. Sounds fabulous!!! :cloud9:

It is getting close...almost time to start packing!

I know, right?!? I wish it would get here already!! Are you getting ready?

Just waiting right now! I will probably start packing things together in a few weeks. Although it is/still will be hot here so we'll still need our summer clothes so I'll have to wait for that. Right now just trying to figure out food...should we bring some breakfast type stuff? Order from Garden Grocer? Skip it altogether and just pack snacks? Not sure yet.

Yeah, it stays hot here into November so I definitely can't pack any clothes early. I'm just slowly starting to pile up some things in my scrapbooking room that are only for the trip.

This is our 1st year driving so we'll be taking some drinks, snacks & breakfast items with us. Are y'all flying or driving?

I missed an update. :headache:

I am pretty sure you can get that drink at the bar outside of Ohana. And every year I say we're going to finally try Ohana and EVERY YEAR we forget it.

I can't believe you're about to start your last day update? But that is good...it means our trips are getting closer.

No worries! I know you're a busy lady! :goodvibes

Ed has been wanting to eat here so badly. I'm really glad I woke up with the chickens in order to get us a decent ADR time. :rotfl:

I know, right?!? Just think.......September starts next weekend! Next weekend, we can both say, "I'm going to Disney THIS month!" :cool1:

We are flying...we are in Massachusetts.

With flying, I would look into Garden Grocer & see how much it would be for them to deliver the things y'all need. May be well worth it!
