I don't think I will be going to my local walmart anymore....

I think Wal-mart presented themselves as the solution to everyone's problems, and they haven't come through. We had several smaller stores and groceries close after Wal-mart came in. I really miss running into the local grocery and being out in five minutes! WM is such a hassle that I plan our lives for a month, so I only have to go in as little as possible. Many of the associates are very nice, but a some are really rude. And, as stated elsewhere, some of their policies are counterproductive, IMO.

I haven't read the intervening pages...so forgive if I'm butting in on a debate...:o

Good for you Ms. Kanga!:) I've only been to a few Walmarts and ...yuck. They have been odious...customer service, indifferent, at best. ( No one knew, or seemed to care, where an item might be found; 50 customers and two open registers, one of them a trainee...things like that)

Of course , it is a huge chain and the employees at one don't necessarily reflect those at another but hey! It's a CHAIN..they CHOSE to project a single identity to their customers...NOT "Dr. Jekyll" in one store and "Mr. Hyde" in the other. So, friendly and mndful they may be on the commercial, but that isn't what I saw IRL.

Hopefully, you will find better service, better products and more personable employees elsewhere.:)

I shop at Wal-Mart regularly. It is a hassle to get in and out of there because there are usually so many people there. Hardly something the store should discourage. Our Wal-Mart is generally clean and organized. There are some employees that aren't worth a flip and some I've come across that have been very helpful and friendly. There are some courteous customers that will wait in line, say excuse me as they go around, and are polite, but there are a few that are rude and obnoxious. I generally ignore that or take it on myself to say something. I've never really thought about being angry at the employee for it.

I'm not trying to discount anyones experiences. And each person has every right to shop where they choose. But, not all Wal-Marts are the devil. I've had terrible experiences at our local Dillard's, but I've been in other Dillard's that are quite nice!
