When my wife told me this was happening, I almost thought it was a joke. We have stayed on property too many times to count for decades, and one of the reasons we do, is because it is so unlike any of the places we've stayed on the strip.
I don't usually do the whole housekeeping thing, as we like to keep it private besides them asking us if we need towels, soap etc, we're just good and spend a lot of time in our rooms- we paid for them and we use them like intended.
While coming in and ''checking'' on us may seem minor to some, it's not to us. I don't like the appointment, the anxiety of being disturbed because I may be a suspect? It's not the end of the world, but the way they're going about it feels strongly like a random raid of your privacy.
And the real kicker is, it's being done in the name of ''security reasons'' because of one idiot in Las Vegas. News flash- if someone really wanted to do something, their little inspection of the ''trash'' wouldn't prevent a thing, so the whole process and what they're doing is just a complete waste of time and aggravation.
AND, I just wanted to add this for food for thought because to me this was shocking. They're willing to go door to door bothering their guests, but they let me slip right through the gates at each park without ONE TIME going through the metal detectors back in October 17'.
I'm 6ft 6, wore cargo shorts with button pockets, carried a backpack that was checked, along with a small cooler, pushing a stroller, and NOT ONE TIME did they check me beyond the bag check and ask me to walk through the metal scanner, while I see little old ladies being scanned? Are you kidding me? We went to the parks 5 different days. Unbelievable.
I hope they get this corrected and do away with this room nonsense once and for all and step up their security at park entry.
