I Cut My Hair! I'm getting [Dread] Locs! UPDATED - Pg 39!

Okay, so I am one of the dopey people that figured with the locs that it was just a get up and go type style. I never even thought of them being stuck to your head. So much work, but they look good.

Thanks! I think most of this work is only in the beginning. When they get longer, I doubt I'll have this much maintenance to do.

Hey DISers! It's been a few weeks, so I thought I'd post some update pics. These pics were taken about a week after they were done.

If I were brave enough, I'd walk out the house with my hair like this! I love when it's all sticking up!

My hair hasn't grown alot, but they are thicker, and locing up really well. When I wash my hair now, none of them come out.

A few days ago, I bought a burgundy/brownish rinse. So the next time I do my hair, I'll add a little color. I've NEVER done it before, so I hope it turns out right! I'll make sure to post the pics!

Every so often I'll put an auburn rinse in my hair. The gray strands give it a nice high lite!!

I agree about the color, that red should add a bit of fire and give it that really cool funky look. All you need is some cute glasses and the look will be complete.

It's thick, and it smells GREAT - like juice! It also has GREAT hold, without making my hair feel stiff. But, it was a bit heavy, and left my hair a bit greasy.

Hey, I used to use Mango & Lime to double strand twist my hair, but they changed the formula (and the smell), so I changed too! I have a scent sensitivity and the old formula was not too bad for my nose, but the new one, I just can't take! I also use Organic Root Stimulator. That smell doesn't bother me.

I have thought about locking for years, but now that my hair is soooo thin, I don't want to. I've seen people with very thing hair with locs and I don't like being able to see all that scalp.

Hey! Thanks for posting! When I finish using the Island Oil, I'm going to see what oil "ORS" makes. Hopefully it'll smell great and have more natural ingrdients in it.

As for thin hair - mine is very thin and soft. But now, my scalp isnt showing as much. I think people with hair like mine, has to have them started out a bit bigger. I was worried in the beginning that my scalp would show for a LONG time, but I guess not! Take a look . . .

Sneezie!!! HEY! so good to "see" you! When you do get to see the pics, let me know what you think! I REALLY hope that my hair doesnt turn out RED! But if it goes wrong, at least it's Winter, and I can wear hats till the color rinses out!

Hey Mom! I am looking forward to them getting longer. BUT I must admit that it is nice having short hair! Funny, the one thing that I thought would weird me out about this whole experience, is one of the things I like the best!

Next week I'll post pics of the color - but if it can only be seen when the light hits it, I don't know how well it'll show up. We'll see!

Girl I reacted the same way, when I realized how much of my hair they were gonna cut. But, like I said before, it's been really nice having so little hair. Especially now that it's so cold here in Baltimore - no hat hair!!!

It's getting so thick, it's going to be beautiful! I love your picture progression and I can't wait to see how it continues to grow.. I know I liked my hair short because it was easier to care for, but I also loved it longer because I liked the way it made me look. Hopefully you will love it at every stage you go through.
