Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I posted this last night in the kindness thread and want to give a thumbs up here, too, an older from 2022 movie called Autumn in the City. It takes place in New York. It's the story of Austin (a writer) and Piper (an illustrator) and how collaborate on a children's book and fall in love. I grew to root for both characters and especially loved Austin's mother at the end and how she supported both her son and Piper. I would definitely recommend:)

Okay, then... need to clarify my earlier complaint. I'm tired of multiple movies about a group of friends detailing their individual stories. THIS mini-series is soooo much better. I just finished Part 2 of Providence Falls and WOW! This ending was heartbreaking! This is one of the better storylines I've seen on Hallmark... and it keeps twisting. It's written well and the acting has been really good too. I can't wait to see how it all ends next Saturday.

::yes:: I suspect when the current programmer got called into the Hallmark CEO's office to explain how many more series there are and was told there is this mini-series in August too, the CEO probably went,

"No! Not another series! We're just not going to promote this one very much." Whereas, out of all the series, THIS is the one that should be promoted as it's not the same "series" format as the others and the overall quality of this production is so much better. If Nial Matter hadn't shown up indicating it's a Hallmark production, this could have been a Netflix mini-series. This should also have been on Hallmark Mystery instead, which has been shoved to the wayside this year, as this mini-series has more drama and mystery to it.

@Imzadi, you're right... the lead actress is really good. She reminds me of Mariska Hargitay.

Yes, I see what you mean. Katie is very real and down to earth. She's intelligent, is able to convey the complexity of what she's going through, and has emotional depth. If her detective character was transported and plopped into the Law & Order: SVU detective bullpen, I think she can hold her own with the other actors. :thumbsup2

Its been a long time since i've posted mainly because i'm lucky to catch hallmark stuff on repeat if i have time but this was announced today for the christmas folks https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/hallmark-grand-ole-opry-christmas-movie-brad-paisley-1236482800/

Great post! I'm glad you had your eyes peeled. :magnify: :thumbsup2

I think it will be nice to have Kristoffer Polaha in another time travel movie. I really liked him in A Biltmore Christmas. And having Brad Paisley write & perform original music for the film and a Hallmark theme song is a nice touch. Although, since his sister-in-law Ashley Williams is a Hallmark regular, and she and Kimberly made two Hallmark movies together, he would have never heard the end of questions had someone else stepped forward to write the music. 🎶
