I couldn't eat another..OOHH, desert review with pictures

We started the morning with the Back Trail at Fort Wilderness Segway Tour and it was even more fun than the Epcot one we did a couple of years ago. I was also excited that we got to meet the headless horseman's horses (yes, there are two) and the other horses at the stable.

After the tour that morning, we were off to Whispering Canyon...YUM.
UM..I guess they though DH looked thirsty

Chips with queso and salsa for DH and BBQ pork rolls (mine was much better)

We both had the skillet and I had pecan pie for dessert..apple for DH

This was our first visit, but definitely not the last:thumbsup2

Tusker House looks really good as does Teppan Edo; we didn't like WCC and won't be back, but glad you enjoyed your meal there.

WWC looks so good-Im glad you had a good time cause so many people dont but I Love it too and now i want some right now hehehe

Thanks..I have to say Tusker House was a real gamble because DH has not like any Disney buffets (even...gasp..Chef Mickey:scared1:). This was our second time at Teppan Edo and it did not disappoint as per usual. I love that style of Japanese cooking.

I always try everything once..the only restaurant I wish I had listened to the warning about was Tony's, but some love it and I have heard it is getting better. You never know and sometimes, you just have to try for yourself.

Great reviews!! Thanks!! I'm hungry & excited now! :rotfl:
Thanks..I have to say I have sighed when looking at some of the pictures...my spaghetti dinner just doesn't seem as exciting as a three course meal (that I didn't have to cook no less) with an incredible view like fireworks, a castle, an aquarium...sigh...I am a very lucky girl though..for the first time ever, we are headed back again..just for a long weekend, but I get to see WDW at Christmastime..

Hey, sorry I couldn't come on the haunted carriage ride with you guys! How was it?

Looks like you had delicious trip! Citricos was our favorite meal too! I had that Chocolate Banana Torte last time and the Lemon Cheesecake this time. Where is a drool emoticon when you need one?

Hey...it was completely booked at the times we wanted, so we never got to do it.:sad1: Next year, I will plan in advance.

Yes, Citricos was just amazing and I will definitely go back.

Lots of yummy pictures! Thanks for the reviews. I can't wait to go and try some of that stuff.

So, we were going to MNSSHP that night, so we booked Ohana for the first time because it was close by. It was really yummy and I would go back in a heart beat. We booked the first dinner opening at 5:00 and it took a while to check in (and on a side note, as I was standing in line, my flip-flopped foot was run over by a man obviously not in control of his double stroller who was is such a hurry that he couldn't stop and apologize to me or the three other people in line he hit..OK, rant over).

We got an amazing seat where we could see the top of the castle (and could also see when it started raining..but it ended quickly, so :cool1:).

DH got a beer and I ordered a Lapu Lapu (which was delicious, but potent).
Picture586.jpg

They brought out salad and sauce first (I was told back home to put the peanut sauce on the salad and it is yummy) and then the wings and potstickers (YUM).
Picture587.jpg

Picture592.jpg

Then the noodles and broccoli.
Picture593.jpg

Then, they bring around big skewers of steak, pork, turkey, HUGE shrimp...hhmm, I think that was it. I didn't think much of the steak (kinda tough and I am a medium rare kind of girl) and all three sauces were wonderful.

But the best was yet to come..dessert was heavenly. Bread pudding with some kind of sauce..OH, I could have laid in it. I ate WAY too much of it. Sigh..I wish I had some now. (I would have an even more decendant bread pudding later in my trip...drool).

Stay tuned for Day 7...DH's 40th Birthday..Breakfast at Ohana, Lunch at Brown Derby and dinner at Le Cellier

 Ohana :cloud9:

Yip! That food IS really yummy - wish I could have some now! And the sauce for the breadpudding - is Banana Foster sauce - to die for! ;)

We started the day with a yummy breakfast at Kona. This was a return trip and it did not disappoint. I had the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes (YUM) and DH had the Big Kuhona (sp?).

Lunch was at the Brown Derby (we chose DHS for DH's birthday fast pass:cool1:) DH had the scallops as an appetizer and I had the crabcakes (both yummy).
Picture031.jpg

Picture032.jpg

DH had the chicken and I asked if I could get the Cobb Salad (which is an appetizer) as an entree and there was no issue.
Picture033-2.jpg

Picture034-1.jpg

We both got the banana mousse thing (I am sure Disney is thrilled at my descriptions, no?? They probably have people work on these names forever and here I go...some banana thing...a dessert by any other name would taste as wonderful).

Le Cellier is one of our favorites and probably the restaurant we have eaten at the most. It was still amazing, but I have to say that I didn't love the mushroom filet as much as I had in the past. I would still order it (no doubt), it is just in the past, we would have both said this was our favorite meal. This trip, mine would be Citricos and DH's would be Flying Fish.

I ordered a drink called the Magical Star which was great and DH had a beer.
I had the soup (probably the best part of the meal...especially when the pretzel bread is dipped in it) and DH had the spice sausage appetizer (which is very tasty, but spicy indeed).

The maple creme brule finished off our meal and they did something special for DH's birthday.

Day 8 was spent at Universal (I know, I know) but we had breakfast at the Wave and lunch at Wolgang Puck and a late night burger at the Food Court (sorry, no pictures..but it was just your standard burger and pretty good as I had worked up quite an appetite running from "monsters" at Halloween Horror Nights).

We had early ADRs for the Wave (first time eating there) and it was really good. The Wave is all about the healthy, which was a nice change of pace. We both had omelets and split them (ham and cheese/spinach, tomato and feta cheese). Both were really great.

We did an Unmasking the Horror Tour at Universal (which was great and convinced us to stay for the event). We decided after doing some rides to go have some lunch and maybe a swim since we thought it could have been a long night, so we went to Wolf Gang Puck. I had the chicken chinois salad (which was very refreshing on a hot day) and DH had the spaghetti. We both had the creme brule.

We did attend Halloween Horror Nights for the first time (which was so incredible, scary, thrilling and fun all in one) and then returned to the food court for burgers. I had the beignets for dessert and I am afraid I don't see what the appeal was..it was just fried dough with powered sugar..nothing to write home about.

Day 9- Dinner at California Grill, which was delicious as usual.

The breakfast at The Wave looks really good and we'll have to add that to our list for th enear future.

Great reviews, I may have to try the Wave for breakfast next trip. I do have one question about CRT though. You said you ordered your food, is it no longer served family-style?

This looks like a good breakfast. Maybe we'll hit the Wave on our next trip.

Can't wait for the review of the Cali Grill. It's our date night on our next trip. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a dessert person, but I could be.

This was our first time there. They brought out fruit and pastries when we first arrived and then we had three choices: my french toast stuffed with cream cheese and carmalized banana or hubby's quiche/egg thing or oatmeal.
