Congratulations! It looks like a spectacular itinerary, and is definitely on my bucket list for when I can spend more time there. ENJOY!

Can't wait to hear all about it!! It will get me even more excited. I'm leaning towards October 2016 on one of the adult exclusives. I'll gave to be patient and wait for the itineraries in May.

Yeah!!:cheer2:

Austrailia will be my retirement present to myself, when I can add pre and post days and spend 3 weeks there (not spending 27 hours on a plane for 12 days) and my niece will be old enough to stay at my house to take care of my pets and I can buy business class airfare (27 hours = business or first class)

Hope you have a great time!!!

That's pretty much how I feel (except for the niece/pets part.)

I also want to go to New Zealand while I'm down there.

I agree....spending that much time on a plane definitely warrants a longer stay. I'm very lucky since I get 36 days of PTO a year. My husband doesn't get as much PTO as I do, but he never takes off and can roll over PTO so I'm definitely going to use that in our advantage. We will definitely add some pre and post days. Post days in Melbourne since we have friends that live there and if we're ending in Tasmania saving Melbourne for the end just makes sense. We will see how it all works out, but this is one of the two vacations I have to take (the other being Italy) and I figure life is too short so I'm just going to do it.

We're definitely flying business or first. That is way too long in a plane to be uncomfortable. My dream is the Quantas flight from Dallas to Sydney on the A380. I have this weird fascination with that plane and since no US carrier is going to buy one I need fly on one when I get the chance.

I have a friend who went to New Zealand and she LOVED it. I think taking a cruise around the fjords would be amazing!!

That's the flight I'm booked on going out. It's the longest commercial flight right now at 16h 50m.

That is awesome!! You'll definitely have to report back not only on the trip, but the flight as well. I saw an Air France A380 when I was flying home from DC and it is gigantic. Im hoping I can save enough for first class. It is very expensive, but considering how infrequently we travel I can justify it

Definitely go for it!! It took 20 years but I finally have my dream trip to Australia booked for next year.

We did 12 hours from Chicago to Maui direct, it's long and boring but at least you know when you get off the plane, you're there. As long as you move around and stretch, and bring plenty to entertain you (and snacks), it won't be as bad as it sounds!

I am SO jealous of this trip, I can't wait to hear all about it. My husband and I are dreaming of the day our kids are old enough to take to Australia - before kids we had to choose between Australia and Hawaii, and went with Hawaii. Now that Aulani is here, I wish we had done it the other way, we could do Hawaii with kids!

We did a 13.5 hr flight to Beijing last yr and back to back 11.5 and 10.5 hr flights to get us to Saigon before that. We're as prepared as we ever will be. I typically load up a couple of seasons of some tv show and that helps pass the time, but there's no denying they're long flights. The one upside (but possible argument against traveling to Australia) is after such a long flight, you arrive in a land completely different from the one you took off from in most every way, and I like that about traveling.
