I Can! I Can Stink at 9am! A January TR - 3/8 New TR Link!

Soooo happy to read this!!!! My father in law had/has something similar if not the exact same thing. He ended up meeting with a neurologist and then going to PT to help with the vertigo aspect and I know that one thing they said was getting that started earlier than he did would have really helped it resolve faster. Was PT mentioned at all?

Alicia, That is such a relief to hear and thank you for updating us all so quickly. I know that everyone was waiting and thinking about you guys today. :flower3:

Thank goodness for good news! I am so relieved for you guys that it wasn't any of those terrifying things. I truly hope that the doctor is wrong and his hearing comes back and the ringing goes away. Hopefully with time his ear will go back to normal. You guys so deserve a relaxing vacation after all this scariness. Speaking of which, my brother in law just got back from Vegas and he did the ferris wheel and said it was awesome.

I'm glad to hear that it was nothing too serious! That's probably about the best news there could have been. I'm still sorry that it's kind of one of those things that they can't really do anything to help him, but at least it isn't anything life threatening!

I'm so relieved this isn't life threatening, even though i'm sure it's annoying for him. Thanks for always checking in! :goodvibes

So happy to hear that the MRI was clear! :goodvibes I hope the symptoms resolve and he can get back to normal - still sounds like a tough thing to deal with.

I am no expert on this at all, but did they mention anything about Meneire's Disease? I only ask because a co-worker's wife has it and the symptoms sound similar - vertigo episodes and diminished hearing in one ear. If it could possibly be this, the co-worker's wife has a food blog she started because she found that certain foods (and elimination of foods) improved her symptoms - let me know if you want me to find and PM her blog to you.

At any rate, so glad that it wasn't any of those three very scary things!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Nope, he didn't mention any sort of disease and Dan even asked if there could be a relation between his Ulcerative Colitis and this, and the doctor said probably not. But the doctor did ask if he had any allergies (which DH did develop a few years back!) so perhaps that could be related? In any case, i'd love to read about what she went through. If you don't mind whenever you have the time, can you PM it to me? Thanks!

Good news????? I say that is great news, though I know the lingering effects will still take a toll.

Have an amazing time in Vegas. So jealous. One of my all time favorite places to visit. Unfortunately after having ,y daughter my twice a year trips are now like once every two years. So of course I supplement with Disney ; ) have a drink for me

Thank you! :goodvibes

We are so planning on having the best time ever, for sure!

So happy that the mri results were clear. Hope you both have a great time in vegas.

Thank you! :goodvibes

So happy to hear good results! Have a great time in Vegas!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I'm in Phoenix, but wanted to check in and so happy to hear the great news that it was none of those horrid things. Here's hoping for a great time in Vegas.

Thank you Kathy! :goodvibes

Well I'm glad it was good news that there is nothing conclusive wrong with him. I hope eventually you can figure it out and his hearing comes back! On the other side I hope that means you guys can make it to my birthday party. I will have whiskey and whatever else goes in a Manhattan, I just can't promise that I can get those ultra cool ice cubes in the room, but we will have a really cool cake!

Thank you Alison! :goodvibes We are absolutely still coming to your party! :jumping1:

Oh, Alicia, I'm SO happy to hear this!!! I hope that he feels better and better and that the two of you enjoy your Vegas trip! It's VERY well deserved!!! :goodvibes

Thank you Tracy! :goodvibes

AWESOME!!! So glad that the scans were clear and I hope that whatever it is resolves itself soon.

Thank you! :goodvibes

So happy you guys got good news. What a relief. Hopefully he will feel better real soon.

Thank you! :goodvibes
:cool1::banana::woohoo:party:

Thrilled to hear that! Such a relief.

Really? I hope that's not the case. I'm glad there are no restrictions and we'll keep praying that he makes a full recovery.:goodvibes

Thank you Mark! :goodvibes We'll be praying that over time, even if he doesn't get his hearing back 100%, any/better hearing would be awesome!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:I can't imagine the relief you guys are feeling. Yeah!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for letting us know :grouphug:

Thank you Pam! :goodvibes

Woot woot!! HAPPY DANCE!!!! So glad it's not something major. I bet you guys are so relieved. Now you can REALLY enjoy your Vegas trip!

Thank you Cynthia! :goodvibes Nope no mention of PT or anything. Mainly just leaving it alone and letting it recover. What did they do for you FIL for PT?

Thank you Heather! :goodvibes

I was so hoping to do the High Roller (the ferris wheel) and I know the doctor gave him no restrictions, but i'm concerned with the elevation and turning (I know it can't be THAT high or go THAT fast) but I just want nothing to happen.

Thank you all so much for your support! Wow, so much love here. Today has been a much happier day for all of us and so looking forward to starting off this Spring Break with some good Mexican food and beers tonight to celebrate life :thumbsup2 Am hoping to get this TR back on track and make an update over the weekend! :goodvibes Also, I know some of you have started other PTR/TR's over the past week or so, if you wouldn't mind sending a bat signal my way that would be great!

I'll be there in about 5 hours! :rotfl2:

Enjoy spring break, have a great weekend and have fun in Vegas!

Thank you!

Thanks!

I will ask Jeff, he took him to several sessions when he wasn't allowed to drive. I do know at first they didn't have him do anything and then ultimately they said that made it worse but he didn't have hearing loss I don't think, just super severe vertigo. What he had was called Vestibular Neuritis, not sure if that's what they said your DH's might be or not.

Just found your trip report and then your dh's vertigo issues. Definitely go to a Physical Therapist who specializes in vestibular therapy. There is a lot they can do.

I am so glad the MRI came back normal. What a relief for you guys. I might have missed this with trying to catch up on everything and reading quickly but are they able to drain the fluid from his ear if it is causing problems. That sucks that he has to wait it out and see but at least he knows that he is clear of the other things which is great news.

Also, I know some of you have started other PTR/TR's over the past week or so, if you wouldn't mind sending a bat signal my way that would be great!

No bat signal necessary from me. I just hijacked the old PTR with the one for my birthday.

MRI scan was clear of any sign of tumor, aneurism or stroke!:cool1::dancer::banana: So very happy for him that it was nothing major!

Well that is certainly good news! Still a bit scary in that they don't know exactly what is going on and what will (or won't) happen - but so, so, so glad to hear that it isn't any of the big 3 you were worried about. I can't fully appreciate what you are feeling but I can picture a bit how relieved I would feel if in a similar situation - just that feeling that you know you can go on and can fully think about the future.

Hope things continue down a positive path and everything works out with Vegas!

Just caught up with your thread so far! Glad everything is okay with your DH, and have a great birthday trip to Vegas! So much good food there :D

I LOVE your trip planning spreadsheet, I'm going to recreate it for our next trip!

Wonderful news Alicia and Happy Birthday! :bday: I hope you are having a great time in Vegas. How can you NOT be? :drinking1

I am a little late to the celebration but so, SO happy that the "big 3" have been ruled out. However, hearing loss will be quite an adjustment. Glad the dizziness is expected to subside, but will continue to pray for complete healing for the tinnitis (sp?) and the hearing. I also wondered about Munierre's. The symptoms do seem to match up.

On a happy note, I'm so glad you have a little closure- enough to feel like you can get back to normal again. That is a good feeling!

That is great news, so happy to read this.

Have a great birthday and trip to Vegas.

Great news on his test results. I hope it resolves itself soon. He may want to ask his Dr about anti vertigo, they help with an attack, in case it happens again. After that week long one I carry them when I fly as that seems to trigger it. Enjoy Vegas its a fun place and win some money so you can go back to the world.
