“6-7” trend.

That’s what I’m concerned about. There’s also a level of self control that needs to be instilled in those students. Not every boss or manager will be tolerant.

If they are saying things at inappropriate times - no matter what those things may be - then that behavior should be corrected. If they are disrupting class, then they should be held accountable, whether they are saying "6-7" or "Groovy, man" or "Totally radical!"

Reminds me a bit of when you hear a spectator at a golf tournament yell 'mashed potatoes' when a golfer tees off. Seems kinda pointless to me.

It's a line from a bad song that was turned into a meme, and every time adults get annoyed, it just makes the meme stronger. It's no different than any other trend.

I was at a football game last Saturday, the announcer said 6 7 for some legit reason, and the students all laughed. By the time these things hit the news, they're usually dead.

Well....a student told me what a dude was... I fell for it as in1999 students when come up to me on hallway duty and say...",hey dude how's it going????....alas in my research now... they were just jealous students not in my second semester classes

This is the most ridiculous trend I have ever heard… random kids just yelling those two numbers. Does this irritate you, and if you are an educator are you taking any further action (detentions, essays, or even restricting/excluding your students from certain fun activities)?
.....nope.....(I am retired as of June 30!!!! Yay me!)

When my grandkids found out I was 67, they thought it was hilarious. My grade school age granddaughter would say "6 7", do hand motions and sway, laughing away. I laugh with her. I looked it up, saw that it was meaningless so I didn't care if she said it or not. Now that I've had my birthday, I don't hear it anymore.

I saw this on display T-shirts in various souvenir storefronts on the Reboboth Beach and Ocean City Boardwalks this summer. I asked an employee standing outside one shop what it meant and he had no explanation, just that it was a stupid trendy thing kids were saying.
Same. I saw it printed on T-shirts in many tacky Boardwalk stores, but I never saw any kid actually wearing them. Not that I was looking closely. It was just the summer of 2025’s crazy but harmless trend.

This thread gives off massive "old man yells at cloud" energy. Your parents were saying the same things about you back when you were a child. Who cares lol

Oh come on. At least do something annoying that makes sense.

Exactly what I mean btw. It's dumb but not something to get worked up over.
I’m not the least bit worked up. Someone started a thread with a question and I chimed in with my opinion. No more, no less.
