I can do this...Karyn's journal to lose 20!

I must not have done too much damage yesterday. I put on a pair of jeans AFTER eating lunch, and I didn't have to do squats to stretch them out!! :cool1: I haven't weighed yet this week. Can't wait to see if there is a change!! Even though I may not be losing weight, I am certainly feeling better.

I did have a small victory today. I have been wanting brownies like crazy here lately. I had to go to WalMart to get Katelyn some medicine (she has a bad first-week-of-school cold) and I couldn't resist the temptation any more. I picked up some fat free No Pudge! brownies that you make with fat free yogurt. They are so good!! You can't even tell that they are fat free!! Only 2 pts for 1/12th of the recipe. Well, you know me by now...I cut them into 6 brownies. That is still only 4 pts a brownie. They are really, really good. I also FINALLY got some good looking lettuce to eat this week. Sandwiches are always better with lettuce. I've got to get more veggies in this week.

Breakfast-none

Lunch-baked chicken (3 pts), corn (2 pts), and Rice a Roni (5 pts...used light butter and ate a little less than a cup)

Snack-brownie (4 pts)

I am starting out on the right foot today! Thanks to Amy, I have a big pot of vegetable soup cooking away on the stove. I need to get more veggies in, and that is a low-point way to do it. We all have colds at my house, so the hot soup will be good tonight.

Breakfast-pancakes and a little syrup (6 pts)

Lunch-Turkey, cheese and lettuce on white toast (4 pts)

Snack-No Pudge! brownie (4 pts)...I can not say enough great things about that brownie mix!! It is just like eating a regular brownie with NO FAT!! Unbelievable! :cool1:

I have 6 pts left for the day, and I think the soup will be about 2 or 3. I'm in good shape!! :flower:

Hi, there!
Those brownies sounds wonderful! I am sorry that you are sick...hope you and your family get better soon! :goodvibes

Yay, I'm so glad you are making veggie soup! I just had mine for lunch and it was SO good! I have enough for lunches for the rest of the week, yum! A nice break from salads. I am surprised at how much it filled me up. I just hope I'm not starving in a couple hours...

You are doing so great! Congrats on the clothes fitting better! And I applaud your attitude about the weight loss. You are right - who cares what the scale says, your clothes fit better so you know you are getting into shape, good for you! :cool1:

Oh ya, those brownies sound AWESOME!! I :lovestruc brownies. I wonder if they have that No Pudge mix here...

My mouth is watering for one of those brownies. Is the brand "No Pudge" ? I have never heard of this. I'm not sure if we have them here.

Great news about the shorts! Doesn't that feel great?

Have a good day. And I hope everyone feels better.

You can get the brownie mix at Wal Mart. It comes in small boxes...usually on the top shelf. The boxes are pink for the original flavor. It also comes in Mint and Cappachino (sp) flavors. REALLY GOOD. The brand name is No Pudge! and you only add fat free vanilla yogurt to the powdered mix. I just can't believe that something fat free tastes that good!!

Karyn -- Glad you discovered one of my all-time favorites! If you add fat free sugar free flavored yogurt to the original chocolate (think raspberry or strawberry), they are really really delish!

Keep up the great work. So glad to hear your clothes are fitting better! :cheer2:

I have to try these brownies!!!!! I saw the No Pudge ice cream treats at a local grocery store, I'll have to look for the brownie mix. Is it with the other brownie/cake mixes?

In our grocery stores, it is on the top shelf of the brownie mixes in the baking aisle. They also sell all those flavors at Trader Joes.

karyn -- I think I'll have to stop on my way home to buy some! :teeth:

Just a suggestion...I would start out making the original flavor. I tried the mint flavor first and didn't like it, and it took me a long time to want to eat it again. Now I want to try the mint again to see if my tastes have changed!!

I did good today. This cold is about to drive me crazy :crazy2: and TOM refuses to leave.

Breakfast-pancakes (6 pts)

Lunch-turkey sandwich (4 pts)

Snack-brownie (4 pts)

Dinner-soup (2 pts...the only things to count pts for were the potatoes and corn...may not have even been 2 pts worth, but I like to figure high)

I drank a glass of milk a minute ago to soothe my sore throat (2 pts) so that puts me at 18 pts for the day. That may be all that I eat today. (unless I get back into the brownies!!)

This cold is miserable! I hate having a cold when it's hot outside. I don't know about any of you, but when I'm stuffy and have a sore throat, I want rice to eat. I just made some rice with chicken stock and some gravy. I feel a little better after eating it. I figure that I ate 6 pts (a little over a cup of rice and the gravy had some flour and light butter in it). I may do that for lunch, too. I thought that I would have plenty of soup left over for this week, but DH REALLY liked it. Oh well... :flower:

Sorry to hear you have a cold! Must be that back-to-school germ fest. Hope it (and TOM) goes away soon!

You are still doing good with your eating. When I have a cold I don't want to eat anything. But that's not enough to make me wish for one...

Hang in there and feel better soon!

I was just reading back through my journals, and I realized that I have been sick since we moved to Iowa! You guys must be thinking that I'm the sickest person that you have ever met!! I guess I just need to get used to this thin Iowa air.

I ate on my rice and gravy on and off today. I haven't had any veggies, but honestly, I don't have the appetite for them. I made a cup of rice (uncooked is 13 pts) and the only thing that counted points-wise in the gravy was a little flour and a little butter (probably 2 points for both of it). That adds up to 15 points. I will eventually get used to the different climate and maybe I can get straightened out!! I start pilates and step on Thursday and I CAN'T WAIT!! I know that I will start feeling lots better then. It's funny how being in a different area can affect your health. My hair has gone board straight, too! Weird, huh??

It has been a busy morning, so I am just now sitting down to eat for the first time! I got some WW pizzas from WalMart to try out. I need to add some veggies to it. I'll look around and see what I have. I'm starting to feel like I'm alive again. I can't wait to start pilates tomorrow morning. YAY!! :flower:

I hope you feel better! Are you drinking lots of Vitamin C? Even if you don't like OJ, I think Capri Sun has a lot in it. That is supposed to help.

That's cool that you are so excited about Pilates! You will discover muscles you never knew existed. Stick with it and you will see results in a couple weeks!!

Get those veggies in!!

Okay, they have changed the WW pizzas. So much better than I remembered!! Yummy.

Breakfast-none

Lunch-WW pizza (7 pts)

snack-2 potato skins from Schwan's (5 pts)

Is that all that I have eaten today? I guess so! That leaves me 8 pts for dinner. DH went to Pizza Hut today (I actually turned down the chance to eat pizza!! Am I sick?) so I don't have to cook dinner tonight. I will probably have a WW dinner. I am going to get on the scale in the morning since it is the 1st and I can see what I can lose during September! I'm not going to do the challenge, because I get mad at myself when I mess up. I will start exercising on a daily basis starting tomorrow, so I should have a loss next month. As long as I don't have to buy new jeans AGAIN this winter, I'll be happy!! :flower:

Pilates is awesome. I finished the class an hour ago, and I'm still weak! What a great workout!! I discovered something else, too. I got some of the Eggland's Best eggs yesterday. They have less fat than regular eggs and taste better! It was 3 pts for 2 eggs. Not too shabby. That's all I've had so far. Lunch will be in a little while. No plans yet.

I'm so glad you like Pilates! I really do love it. Plus you can get DVDs and do it at home - not a lot of room or equipment required.

You are going to rock on your exercise this month! Did you sign up for the challenge yet? I am hosting it, get on over there and sign up!

I love your new attitude about the scale. Thanks to you I put mine in the closet and will only weigh myself once a week. If you can do it, I can too!!

What are you talking about, you WANT to get new jeans again - SMALLER ones!!! :goodvibes

You're doing great, thanks for being such a positive role model!
