I don't understand...how do you qualify to get a pin??? It is just luck of the draw?? And if you get one...do you have to book immediately or can you call back later to book? IE giving you the chance to switch to a pricier hotel...?

I have ressies for the campground Aug 08 after the AP discount expires and can't get the free dining deal at the end of the month because I have a campsite not a cabin.

I love coupons and codes and was just browsing the DIS tonight and found this thread....too tired to research this...can anyone help me?

I just called too and I have a pin, but it is only good through Dec. 08 and I want to book for Feb 09. He said I can't use it past Dec 08.

How do you know you have a pin when you call? Do you need to ask or do they automatically tell you?

Personal ID numbers (PIN's) are randomly mailed to people offering various discounts. Nobody knows for sure who, where, or why. The PIN's will be attached to your name in disney's system, so some people like to keep calling disney to see if by chance there is a PIN attached to their name.

PINs are discount codes. No one is really sure how Disney decides who gets one, but they're not transferable. You can ask them to check and see if there's one under your name, but the Disney CMs can't apply a code unless there's already one under your name.

Some things that MAY help you get into the running are ordering the trip planning DVD, hitting the reservations site and pricing out a variety of options, and pure dumb luck.

The AAA discount, however, relies a whole lot less on chance. All of you hoping for a PIN: can we assume that you have at least the AAA discount?? It ranges from 10-20% off your accomodations.

What's so frustrating is that we get them all the time, but can never take advantage of them because I'm a teacher and can't leave during the school year and usually am busy in the summer - hate throwing them away when I know so many others have never received one.

We got a 40% pin in Feb. for our Sept trip. I had to call and call and call and then call before I got one.
I didn't know they had another round of PINS going out!!! Good Luck to all.

I have only received one pin. I called a couple months ago and there was one on my name, or so the CM said. He gave me the code, but I never called back. When he priced it out for me, it was the same price as a regular vacation.

Previously I called once a week. My PIN was only good through Aug, and I'm going in Nov. To hear there are PINs out for Dec, I think I'll call and ask again.
