I am posting this as I was shocked after getting off the phone with Disney. We were booked at the Wilderness Lodge for Jan 1- 6th. I called CRO and asked what the AP rate would be for that time at the Poly. I told her I did not have an AP. She put me on hold and told me that if I could switch my dates to Jan 2-7th, I could get the AP rate of $273.00 a night for garden view. I told her that I will switch the dates and book it. She cancelled my Wilderness Lodge reservation and booked the Poly for me. I gave her a deposit of $273.00. I checked online and I am booked for Jan.2-7th at the Poly. It states that I received the Best Rate Passholder rate. We are going to buy the AP, as that is what we intended to do. I am thrilled that we got this rate. I am just confused, as I thought you needed an AP to book the rate. Did the lady at CRO do this right?

Congrats - That's awesome!

Clearly, they weren't doing the correct thing but that's their problem, not yours.

I understood that you could only book "Best Rate" with an AP # in hand, online only, but that you could still call and get rates and book via CRO as well, but that it wouldn't be "Best Rate", meaning you'd have to keep calling to see if the rates go down at all. Maybe someone else can confirm? :confused3

Thanks!! I just wanted her to give me the rates. I even asked her if I should buy the AP right then, over the phone. She told me that she was booking it as room only and that I could purchase the tickets at Disney. I have been reading these threads for weeks, and I only thought I could get BR once I had an AP. We are very excited for our trip. :earsboy:

I just checked the passholder site for you and you got the deal $273./night
congrats!

You don't have to have the AP in hand to book over the phone with CRO you just have to have it upon check in, although, I have never been asked for it when checking in but I'm sure they ask on occasion.

Well, that CM clearly did the wrong thing, but you got the better end of the deal for their mistake! I wonder how she got through the computer prompts on that one?

Well, she did put me on hold for some time. I went back and checked my reservation again, and it does say Best Rate Passholder. I guess what shocked me is that I thought you could not even book an AP rate on the phone. I was just calling to check rates and see if I ordered an AP if I would be able to book 60 days out. I knew the dates were getting close, so I wanted to ask before I ordered it. Anyways, after she put me on hold, she asked me if I wanted to book it. Who knows, maybe they will change the Best Rate. We are just so happy to be going back to the Poly. We love it there. :earsboy:

I was told today that you can call between 2-5 to book AP rates 60 days out, for those who don't have computers, or prefer to not book via computer.
