I am so upset.

Almost everyone I know learns something new on every trip. Last time you learned you needed to plan more. This time you learned that you can still plan as much, but plan in a way that keeps things flexible.

I'm leaving next Wednesday so I feel your pain, but you gotta own it, accept it and move on.

If you have Fast Pass+ reservations for the attractions with long waits you should be fine. And you can get more in the park once you use your existing ones. You aren't going over Christmas week so you should be fine. We always go to the parks late morning and we have never had to worry about super long waits. And if there is a long wait we just keep an eye on the times because they change constantly. I would relax and just enjoy your vacation. If you sweat the small stuff like this you are going to ruin it for yourself. What time is your appointment at BBB? You said you planned to be done with them at 9. So if your appointment is at 8 just get in the park for 7:45 and you are now in an almost empty park.

The main benefit for an early morning ADR for alot of people isn't to simply beat the lines in the park. It is a good strategy when applicable, but alot of people are just early risers and want something to eat and aren't looking for any additional benefits other than what they pay for.

Sorry your plans got all messed up, but relax and just try keep things flexible. Everything will work out magical.

This exactly. I doubt most people who book early ADRs are thinking about being there before park opening at all.

They change their hours all the time. Our trip last year our last day was an MK day and they went and made it the 24 hour opening so crowds were going to be huge. We changed our plans which was a bummer but better than dealing with the crowds.

I'm sure you will still have a wonderful trip.

No I know that were not paying more for those things I just meant paying for things that def are not cheap. But I get it, I just thought we were in the clear when they posted the other time changes earlier. I still dont get why they do this I mean I guess I do but at the same time like I said I think its crappy regardless or ADR or whatever. People plan these trips so far in advance then to just be slapped in the face with something new right before your trip sucks when you're dropping thousands on a vacation.

As I pointed out, Disney does make day of hour changes too. One thing I have learned is you have to know how to roll with the punches. My trip a few weeks ago I had an early morning ADR planned for the Kona Cafe. We were going to have breakfast, and then monorail to MK for park opening. Didn't happen. Disney called me and told me the restaurant wouldn't be opening that morning. I had to switch our ADR to a day when we were going to the Disney Studios. So instead of monorailing to the Magic Kingdom for park open, we had to bus to DS and wait in a huge mob of people to get into the park.

Things can change. Make your plans the best you can, and if they change, make them again as best you can. :)

I have yet to use the new FP system and I am looking forward to it I know so many people dont like it but for me with two small kids I love that I know we have at least 3 rides we def want to ride with little waiting and I know there will be others that we dont have long waits for as well. Especially since we have little kids so we are not looking for a lot of the headliners. Our appointment is at 8:15 so thats what I am wondering what time we can get it. If we can still bypass RP and maybe try to get in there a little before 8. They want you there I am sure a few minutes before your appointment.

I personally have LOVED the FP+ system on our last 2 trips. I am a planner and have found it has made a HUGE difference in our vacations and given us more time in the day, plus I can plan better. If the appointment is at 8:15 Try to get in around 7:45 cause you never know they prob will let you in no problem.

Our appointment is at 8:15 and we are doing a small package not picking out dress or anything so I am pretty certain we would be out of there by 9. I know the park is not Empty but its at least not full on crowded and there is a better chance for a good picture with less possibly no people in it.

You wouldn't be done by 9:00 no matter what package you pick. We never do the dress package but that isn't want takes time. It's the hair and makeup that take time. We never get out in less than an hour.

You will be able to get in before 8:00. I would go at 7:45. While there will be people there early to get in there should be a turnstile open for those with reservations. Just approach and give them your name and see what they say. Chances are they'll let you in so you can walk back to BBB in the castle. Check in and go from there.

You know your kids best of course but honestly, I've taken DGD at 3, 4, 5, and 6 and she has never been a problem in their lines. Most of the lines are interactive. Hopefully you have underestimated what your kids can handle.

It's very frustrating and I had to move all our plans around to make it work, but crowd-wise it should be fine. I figure rope drop works because people hate to get up early, especially on vacation. So those people are definitely not going to get up an hour earlier just because an hour got added! They get to the parks at 10:30-11:00 no matter what time it opens.

Wonder how many people will make a 7am EMH :rotfl2: getting up in the middle of the night

I've done it before, and it was awesome!! But then, I'm up by 4:30 am for work every day, so getting up after that, and then heading to a Disney park, is a treat! I think there was me, and a family of 3 on the bus, if I remember correctly.

I am going to just keep our plans as they are. Hoping that lines are not too bad when we get done and hoping that we can get the rides in we wanted to before our fast passes. Although because of the time change does that mean they expect higher crowds than normal? If that is the case that stinks to because I picked this week due to lower crowds. Not the lowest but doing a lot of research I did not want to be in the park when its a 7-10 crowd level and wall to wall people. I hope its still a 4/5 like Josh predicted. Touring plans says a 2/3 but Im not holding my breath for that one.

I think I'm kinda glad they did this. I snagged an 8:15 CP for our 1st day in hopes that we would be in the park by 9:30 since we couldn't get 7DMT FP's. Now I think I will probably drop the ADR unless the others want to keep it and just hit the park at opening. I don't expect the park to be crowded for a couple hours after opening. We are getting an extra hour in the morning which is the best time for getting on the hot attractions IMO.

Wonder if this means they are about to dump some FP's into the system?

They did dump more in the system. Word hit the boards several days ago.

I think we all get so wrapped up in our planning, that this a good reminder to be thankful for all that we have. Messed up plans or not. Kind of puts things into perspective.

Thanks for adding some perspective. Let me add some more. There are thousands, even millions, of people out there who would be more than happy to go to WDW no matter the hours, ADRs, lines, FP+, or anything else everyone complains about on this board. But guess what, they are having trouble even putting food on their table. In fact, over 50 million people in America struggle to put food on the table. So, complain about the changing hours all you want, but remember, you are going to WDW, you can put food on your table, and you obviously have a roof over your head. You have a heck of a lot to be thankful for.

Oh please.

I'm so tired of this line of thought and making people feel bad in this way.

The OP never acted ungrateful and it's perfectly fine that she got upset that all of her planning got a bit messed up because of last-minute changes.

This is a Disneyworld planning board. Not the CleanWaterBoards or the WorldPeaceBoards.
