Me too. Can't stand the sight of them. I can get past it when I'm at the beach or poolside. But this whole flip-flop thing has got to stop. Especially for men! Cover your damn feet when you're in a restaurant.

It is called Discipline NOT dominance.

Nope. It is called being unable to communicate therefore resorting to violence with someone who is completely defenseless.

Sadly it is a learned behavior. This means it is self-perpetuating from one generation to the next.

I have 2 children that are well behaved and respect authority figures. Not out of fear of physical harm that may come to them, but because we use words and set examples through our own behavior of what is acceptable conduct.

Conversely, I have family members with children the same age as ours who DO hit/smack there children when they misbehave and it continually yields no results. If anything, their conduct is getting WORSE as the years go by.

I'm am "old school" when it comes to many values, opinions. I don't believe in participation trophies, helicopter parenting, "special snowflake syndrome" as I call it, etc. This is just not one of them. Never will be.
