I am in a pre-vacation nightmare right now....

We are leaving this Friday for 8 nights at CSR. We called CRO to inquire as to any availability at a deluxe resort for a possible upgrade this morning, realizing that it was unlikely due to the free dining promotion. I spoke with a fabulous CM who was able to find a standard room at BC. After thinking about the price difference (it was substantial) my husband vetoed the idea. When I went back to the phone to tell the CM "nevermind" that we would just stay put at CSR, my cordless phone was dead (battery) and the call had been disconnected. I hopped in the shower thinking nothing of it, since we had not given the CM a credit card number or any such thing to make the change official. When I checked our messages there was a voicemail from the CM who said to call back with a credit card number if we did, in fact, want the room at BC. Since we decided against it, I left well enough alone.
I went online to check our reservation (just to be sure nothing had been modified) and it shows that we are staying at BC and that there is a balance due of $1300.00 (and change). :scared1:

I immediately called CRO and explained the problem. Yes, we did call to inquire about a possible upgrade but in the end, it was just too much for our vacation budget. There was no credit card number given to secure the upgraded reservation, etc. The CM that I am on the phone with now says that the reservation has been changed and that there is no availability at CSR. I explained that we didn't want to change, we inquired and the CM found availability but that we didn't authorize a change or pay for the change. I'm on hold... and even the happy music isn't helping me shake the feeling of pure nausea that I'm feeling. :sad2:

I'm almost sick! I need extra pixie dust.... hoping it all works out!
 
Geez, i can't see how they can justify that, when you didn't give the "offical OK" -- please keep us updated!! Sending pixie dust your way!!
BTW--- the BC is a BEAUTIFUL resort if that helps at all... ;) :(

Thanks! I am so hopeful that we can fix it.

I'm still on hold (on my cell phone, not on that darn cordless) with my fingers crossed. I feel terrible about this whole thing... the original CM that I spoke with was absolutely fabulous but the price difference was just too much for us for this trip (only a few days out). I should have just left well enough alone but I thought I'd take a shot in the dark just to see if anything was available. I'd be all over the BC if we had planned to spend that much on this particular trip.
 

Awwww, I am so sorry you have to go through this nightmare right before you guys have to leave...... Please KUP on what you find out when you get off the phone
 
Eek! :scared1: That's terrible! I hope they get something worked out for you! Heck, maybe they'll even upgrade you for free since you never okay'ed the change. I can't believe they gave away your rooms so quickly!

I think you should call until you find a sympathetic CM, or even ask to speak with a supervisor. Did you by any chance get the name of the CM you were speaking with when the phone went dead? I don't know if that would help, but at least it would make you sound more "legitimate" when speaking with the next one. I have a feeling this will work out for you in the end, tho I totally understand your frustration!! Keep us posted...
 
Wow, that is nuts - guest services will be able to help you with this if a CM cannot.
 
Oh, I am on the edge of my seat! This sounds like my luck:scared1:
 
Don't let this spoil the fun of counting the hours till you go. Keep calling. Ask politely for a manager. Keep asking. You will get a good cm who will fix it. $1300 - yikes, that is crazy.

I don't either. I know he was trying to be helpful but I didn't think the reservation would just be changed without securing payment, you know?

Anyway, THANKS everyone for your responses.

After spending about 35 minutes on the phone with the initial CM (who answered my second call), a guest services representative and then a supervisor, we were able to get my initial reservation restored - supposedly they had to "pull some strings" but they got it done! I explained to them what happened and made it clear that I sincerely appreciated the original CM's help. I did ask why the reservation was changed without the official "go for it" and bucks to back the change, there was no reason other than he was probably just trying to help (which I agree with). Thank goodness it all worked out in the end. :)

Whew! What a relief! Thank goodness they got your other rooms back! Now you can get back to counting down the days without any stress! :woohoo:
