I am going to be ILL!

Glad you are all set.. Have a great trip!!

Glad you got your original reservation back. Now that you won't be spending that $1300 on the resort, bet you could book a 3 or 4-day Disney cruise in the fall with the money "saved"!

Wow, that is stressful. It is hard when you try to get more for your holiday money and end up causing yourself some problems.

I hope the rest of your trips comes off without a problem.

Have a great time.

I am so glad this worked out for the OP, but there is a valuable lesson to be learned here, this is very easy to happen and can be avoided.

Disney reservations is a very busy place, with many new employees and thousands of phone calls coming in every minute. It is a place that is easy to have a mistake made. Does not make it right but a little prevention goes a long way.

Leave your reservation alone, "unless" you are truly sure you want to change it. If you are considering a change go online, get prices, discuss the situation especially the monetary part and make a firm decision "before" you call.

I have seen too many of these stressful situations and they can be avoided.

I am glad they were able to help the OP get the reservation back, others are not so lucky. So please be sure what you want before you call.

Thanks for the advice - I learned the hard way. :) I do want to clarify, however, that we had every intention of changing the reservation if there was availability and if it would have been something that was in the budget. Considering I had called every day for a week and come up empty, I wasn't too hopeful that there would be any availability. If there had been availability at WL in a standard room (or even something just a touch more affordable than BC), we would have jumped on it. Since we booked during the free dining promotion there was no way for me check availability online (since the booking period has long since expired) which is why I had to inquire over the phone.

There were no hard feelings and, as I mentioned, I was totally appreciative of the CM checking availability for me. Having worked in an environment somewhat similiar to the CRO call centers, I understand that mistakes are made and that there is margin for error. I was never angry, just ill. :) In the event the prices had been just a bit more comparable, we would have proceeded with the change (and don't think for a second that I didn't consider it... I've always wanted to stay at the BC - ;)). I have called before to inquire about availability and/or changing a reservation and have never experienced an issue. Things happen. I'm just relieved it worked out.

So glad to hear it all worked out. I can imagine what a stressful situation you went through with your trip coming up so soon.
Your story had me double check my ressies since I will be staying at CSR
in 26 days but I also have been calling trying to see if I could upgrade to Poly or WL. No luck with any openings at the deluxe resorts but I just went WDW website to verify my ressies weren't somehow changes during the course of my calls to CRO. Thankfully, eveything is A-Okay! :)

So glad and happy you were able to work it out. You are very kind to give all the specifics and definitely deserve to get on down there and have a Magical time. Please do a trip report when you return so we can all enjoy hearing how much fun you had!!

OMG, the same exact thing happened to me last week! I called to inquire about a deluxe using the FL RES code and we were looking at AKL when my cell lost connection. I decided to sleep on it and call back in the morning if my husband liked the price...well we decide not to go that weekend...needless to say, my credit card was charged! I couldnt believe it! I never gave them a # nor said I was ready to book. =(
