I am in a pre-vacation nightmare right now....
We are leaving this Friday for 8 nights at CSR. We called CRO to inquire as to any availability at a deluxe resort for a possible upgrade this morning, realizing that it was unlikely due to the free dining promotion. I spoke with a fabulous CM who was able to find a standard room at BC. After thinking about the price difference (it was substantial) my husband vetoed the idea. When I went back to the phone to tell the CM "nevermind" that we would just stay put at CSR, my cordless phone was dead (battery) and the call had been disconnected. I hopped in the shower thinking nothing of it, since we had not given the CM a credit card number or any such thing to make the change official. When I checked our messages there was a voicemail from the CM who said to call back with a credit card number if we did, in fact, want the room at BC. Since we decided against it, I left well enough alone.
I went online to check our reservation (just to be sure nothing had been modified) and it shows that we are staying at BC and that there is a balance due of $1300.00 (and change).
I immediately called CRO and explained the problem. Yes, we did call to inquire about a possible upgrade but in the end, it was just too much for our vacation budget. There was no credit card number given to secure the upgraded reservation, etc. The CM that I am on the phone with now says that the reservation has been changed and that there is no availability at CSR. I explained that we didn't want to change, we inquired and the CM found availability but that we didn't authorize a change or pay for the change. I'm on hold... and even the happy music isn't helping me shake the feeling of pure nausea that I'm feeling.
I'm almost sick! I need extra pixie dust.... hoping it all works out!
