Hurricane Dorian - SWA/Delta/AA/JB waivers available

And they have now said it will move up at day and they changed it from a cat 2 to a cat 3 hurricane. So it was suppose to hit Florida on Sun and Mon now its Sat and Sun. It is also suppose to grow in size and have 135 mph winds.
There is no "supposed" when talking about hurricanes, especially 3-4 days out. Yesterday it was supposed to be a tropical storm. You just have to keep an eye on things. They can change drastically in just a couple hours. Just keep aware .

I am struggling to make a decision. I'm reading it may hit Saturday or it may hit Monday. I know it's too early to tell, but at some point it's too late to change your plans right? How long do we wait to make a decision?

We are scheduled to fly in Saturday at 8am, returning home Wednesday 09/04 PM.

I don't mind if its rainy and windy the whole time, but if it's downright dangerous and we'll be locked in our rooms the whole time we should probably cancel

I’m not-so-patiently watching American Airlines travel alerts for updates. We’re due to fly in from Philly to Orlando on Sunday evening, which doesn’t look promising. One-ways on Saturday morning are dirt cheap at the moment - but things could be grounded by then too. (Edited)

I am in the same boat. We are scheduled to go down there tomorrow, returning Tuesday. I am ok with rain but if it really windy and downpour I would like to avoid since I have a one year old with us and my 5 year old. My thought is if we extend maybe by a day, if it ends up being bad on Monday or even Sunday, thats ok. I just hope it is localized to one day and not the entire time....

Us too... arriving to Orlando at 9am Saturday. Sticking it out until the airline forces me to change and hope to enjoy lighter crowds.
The bright side is that for those who are there, you will see light crowds right before and right after. My friend was there during Irma and it was a ghost town. Stay safe everyone!

We only have 2 full days in the parks, so we're hoping to at least be able to enjoy those days

I was in The World during Irma - flew in the day before it hit (from CA) and was at POFQ when it hit. Everyone was treated so well.

This time our flight is Monday night...

My flight was scheduled for Monday night too.......so now I'm headed out your way for the first time in my life instead of Florida!

We're flying from Australia and arriving into LAX Monday morning with a flight leaving LAX and arriving into MCO at 7pm Tuesday.
I've checked Delta's website and so far they have nothing about Dorian except for Caribbean updates.
I'm already stressing enough about these flights with an infant and toddler now I have to worry about another Hurricaine. This will be our 3rd in Orlando.
What do you guys think about a 7PM arrival on Tuesday? Would it be cancelled? I know no one really knows but I need to make plans.

I can't disagree more with this. We were there during Irma and the days after was the worst crowds I've ever experienced at WDW in all my trips. It was packed.

Yes there is no supposed when it is currently a hurricane. :)

Very different than what I experienced. Flew in Sat. 9 arriving at 6:30AM. Parks were empty. Managed to hop to all four. Then Tues. 12 and Wed 13 AK and HS were nearly empty. MK was busy but didn't seem packed to me. It picked up later in the week. That next weekend (16 and 17) was busier than the typical mid-September.

Well if it doesn't go in our favor maybe I'll be here to show you around...

We're flying Delta, too. Been checking. Fingers crossed... (Do you do that in Aus?)

Yep, just been checking the website. Plus I'm assuming they will maybe send an email if I need to change something.
I'm hoping that by Tuesday afternoon it will be OK to fly in. But who knows??

The 5 PM forecast track has shifted south. Currently projected to come ashore south of Cocoa Beach Sunday night, and guess where it will be on Monday afternoon?

If it does hit Orlando on Monday what are the chances our flight in on Wednesday 9/4 will happen?
