SW only has advisories through Monday, Sept 2nd on their website.Tuesday is too far out to really know exactly what conditions will be but fingers crossed Wendlle you get your connection!
I just got off phone with Southwest and husband is on phone with American. We are good to change our flights on both airlines no issue. Actually encouraged us to do so on both airlines.
Southwest was very accommodating.
For us it was a matter of getting stuck in Orlando and not being able to fly out Monday. Southwest already has advisories for several Florida airports thru Tuesday on their website. The rep I spoke to said that from current information flights from MCO on Monday do not look good. Currently Southwest has MCO, PBB, FLL under advisories through September 2nd. She again said all flights from Saturday-Monday are being encouraged to change dates. I was told that may change and additional airports east and west coast of Florida may be impacted too. I said what are my chances getting out on Tuesday if my flight was cancelled Monday. Didn't get a straight answer but something along the lines of flights are expected to be impacted: disrupted, canceled, delayed etc through September 7th. Thats all I needed to hear! Not an option for us.
What appears to be of concern now is that it is looking like it will travel NW and go across the entire state to the gulf coast. I am sure that is going to put flights to a halt/delayed for a bit all over Florida which means days of correction.
My flight is supposed to be landing at MCO on Monday at 9:30am. Should I try switching it to an earlier flight, maybe Saturday?
When SWA says that you can alter your flight between your city pairs in the original class of service, does that mean if you booked WGA then you have to find a flight to choose that still has seats in WGA?
It did not matter for me. The only fares left were the top two tiers with no WGA fares left (since they take them down at like 7 days). They switched my flight for 5 people without an issue and no charges.
I’m in the same boat. Inbound flight to MCO from MSW on Wednesday morning. Southwest offered rebooking on flights from 8/31-9/4. Our inclination is to wait, but nervous to risk complete cancellation and rebooking days later. We’re staying on DVC points. If it does hit Orlando on Monday what are the chances our flight in on Wednesday 9/4 will happen?
us too, we're flying in with delta and they also have no waivers either. We are supposed to arrive on Tuesday. JetBlue is not offering any waivers for Florida yet.
My daughter too. Booked out of EWR with JetBlue on Tuesday. We are supposed to arrive on Tuesday. JetBlue is not offering any waivers for Florida yet.
