Hurricane Dorian - SWA/Delta/AA/JB waivers available

When SWA says that you can alter your flight between your city pairs in the original class of service, does that mean if you booked WGA then you have to find a flight to choose that still has seats in WGA?
When I changed our tickets online every day that I looked at to find what would work best for us, all of the flights listed for that day had WGA flights available. So you should have no issues getting the flight you want. Now that they expanded it to Sept 4 I noticed the same thing for our return flight as well all of the flights show WGA as available to book.

I can't disagree more with this. We were there during Irma and the days after was the worst crowds I've ever experienced at WDW in all my trips. It was packed.
Differing experiences I guess :confused3 Crowd level opinions are in the eye of the beholder. My friend spent the day after at DHS and had a great experience. Logically, one would think crowds would be lower immediately before and immediately after, even if only for a day, with so many people needing to cancel, change flights, or getting stranded elsewhere. Perhaps 2-3 days after crowds would be higher than usual with those who postponed now showing up.

American Airlines has no update on waivers for Florida airports and they do not have a set time those decisions are made for hurricanes. Waiting game continues for my Tuesday flight, looking like we will not make my 50th Birthday trip.

Just FYI, the path of Dorian remains about the same, but the timing has slowed down quite a bit. Dorian is now expected to make landfall in Florida in the early morning hours of Monday. That's about 12 hours later than yesterday's forecast.

And once it makes landfall, the current forecast predicts that it will slow greatly and will still be affecting Orlando on Tuesday. So we're talking about a prolonged period of hurricane conditions, with Monday night/Tuesday morning being the peak.

All of this is subject to change, of course, so pay attention to the progress of the storm.

Good news for us!! Hopefully we will be able to really enjoy some park times on Sunday! (We have dining ressies at Epcot we don't want to cancel for Sunday evening lol)

Currently have a flight scheduled for Tuesday, and trying to reschedule it for Saturday morning. I’m getting an error when trying to do so online. I’m on hold now, but does anyone know if that’s because Saturday is still within the dates they’re allowing people to reschedule flights? Or should I be able to do this whenever I finally get through to someone?

We were due to arrive in Orlando on Sunday evening, was able to get us moved on AA to arrive tomorrow morning instead.

WOW, we were there right before Irma and then the week after and the parks were empty. We always travel this week and it was extremely low crowds for us. We stayed at the Poly.

Has anyone had a hurricane/flight change with Allegiant?

My daughter and son-in-law are scheduled to fly Fort Lauderdale to Cincinnati Sunday afternoon. I don't think that's going to happen. And they can't leave earlier, because their ship isn't scheduled to dock at Port Everglades until Sunday Morning. Again, I don't think that's going to happen.

Knowing Allegiant only has maybe one or two flights flying from FLL to CVG a day, I'm thinking my daughter and son-in-law may be stuck in Florida until at least mid-week. Or might they add more flights? Keep in mind, this is Allegiant.

For those rebooking, what day are you rebooking for next week?

There are a lot of other airlines who fly out of FLL, and if they get in a bind MIA is only 30 miles south.

Doubtful they will add more flights because the reason they only flight a limited flight schedule now is that they do not have a lot of aircraft in their fleet. Plus they would need more crew members to fly those flights. And who knows the cruise might not be able to dock at the port. Disney just issued a warning today to those that are cruising tomorrow on the Dream out of Port Canaveral that once the cruise is over they may not be able to dock back at Port Canaveral. In which case they dock somewhere else and bus everyone back to Port Canaveral.

Thanks Jim. :) (Right now, you're my favorite hurricane hunter named Jim. And that includes Cantore.)

Did you see the latest tracking. Not good news for some, but could be for me. It appears Florida landfall isn't until late Sunday/early Monday. Hoping my daughter and son-in-law are sleeping in their own beds then.

For those rebooking, what day are you rebooking for next week?
If you rebook you may change your flight as far out as 14 days from the original flight date. Plus it depends on room availability as to what date you can fly

Do you know if it is 14 days from first leg or can I change the return as well? So I am currently 9/3-7. 14 days from 9/3 is 9/17. So can I shuffle my return from 9/7 to 9/21 as well? I assume so, but want to make sure.

I would call and go with the date that works best for you to start with. You never know they may have the ability to waive it farther out. I am not sure if its the start or end of travel. I suspect its 14 days from the flight that is being moved.
