Great update! Your shirt is so cute!
I don't know anything about Disney marathons...why do they make you start at 10pm???I don't know if I'd be able to run a race that late, I'd be getting ready for bed!

I love that you actually remembered to bring your camera. I had checked mine, and kept thinking I should have brought it. I wish I had taken a few pictures along the way. Can't wait to hear the rest!
Woohoo!! The race is on! How exciting!! I can't wait to read more!!So glad your friend found her iPod--poor thing!
Cool! The race begins!
I'm not big on running unless something is chasing me, but I'll be interested to see how you do! And I'm glad that if nothing else, you got to meet some DISers.
And you have no idea how much I want to let loose with a "women have to go to the bathroom at the start of every trip" joke right now...
Must...hold...back...![]()
I love your shirt!
I just started training for a half marathon on Monday. I've done one before, and reading your description of the start made me feel all the race-day nerves!
It's crazy that everything was so disorganized for the race. It sounds like you were lucky to even find it.
I hope the rest of the race went well for you!
Thank you:
Most races start early in the morning around say 7 am...but this one is a little different and was advertised as the "runners night out". With the heat during that trip I am sooo glad it was at night
I don't know if bringing my camera along was a blessing or a horrible mistake. I stopped a lot to try and take pictures, but most weren't coming out, because I was moving and it was so dark outbut I am glad I was able to get a few good ones. Next time no camera and I will just enjoy the race
Soo I know I have been moving slowly on updates lately, I promise to get another part of the race done tomorrowLee and I sat down the other night to discuss the year ahead and I am having a hard time accepting that a WDW vacation is not on the horizon...at least not this year and possibly not next
I know a lot of people go each year...but isn't a BUMMER when you aren't planning another trip??
The map was interesting; I had no idea the Wine and Dine would use such a different route from the Princess!
I can't imagine running through Animal Kingdom in the dark. What were they thinking? I have been there for late EMH and it can get VERY DARK in there!
It looks really cool though!
I also found it interesting that you got the blocks and we got the gel. I guess they wanted to change it up for some variety!
I can totally relate to this. WDW is not on the agenda this year, but I wish it was.![]()
The 4 mile stretch to DHS must have been torture after having all that entertainment at AK!!!
Great job so far! I am so excited for you, even though the race was months ago!
I love it that you stopped for a pic with Chip and Dale!
Ick!! The evil Clif Shot Bloks. It still makes me ill just thinking about them.
I liked your pictures from AK. I forgot about the characters and float things they had there. That stretch from the AK to DHS felt sooooo long. I couldn't wait to get into another park.
Great update! I love how they had characters out and entertainment along the race course! I had no idea they did that! This is so interesting!
I can't wait for the DHS part, I LOVE that park!![]()
Shannon, I'm enjoying the race part of your TR. You are doing great! I can't imagine running through AK at night...a little creepy.
I'm sorry there isn't a trip on the horizon any time soon...but you never know that could change. The only reason we are going again this year is we are getting AKL free for the two nights we are staying there and we got the 30% off code for the CSR for our four nights.
Hi Shannon! Coming our of lurkdom to comment on your race "coverage"! I never realized that the races actually went through the parks and that there are so many characters and sights to see. This may just be the incentive I need to start running and get in shape. Maybe I can convince DH that he and I should take a short trip back alone!
Loving your TR and looking forward to more!
Kelly
