Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Brenda, John is just so darned cute that I want to adopt him.
Great group shot!
Fess up.....you gave Grimmy a big stack of scratch-offs with her dessert, right?

DisneyLaura, I am not certain but I have heard that our dear 'Benda" has the crew that packed for Gilligan and his three hour tour to do her packing. Nothing but the best for them!!!

Slightly Goofy

I see Planky did the Segway Tour :thumbsup2 I think he should have ridden with you Brenda :lmao:

We've done that tour in the past and loved it so we just had to do it in St Maarten too

Just popping in quickly at lunch ...

Lori darling, she's obviously happy in this picture. Trust me. If you doubt me, go back and look at any of the pictures of Grimmie that I posted on the Argle Bargle ... :rotfl2:

And no, I didn't bribe her with lottery tickets this time. I think she was happy because she convinced Jon to use valet parking so that she didn't have to walk three blocks in the wind and cold rain Saturday night. :lmao:

I'll be back tonight to post some comments to everyone.

Oh, and Laura ... I shove all those dresses into a garment bag and make Jay haul it through the airport as a carry-on. It's amazing how much stuff you can cram into a garment bag ... I can get three dresses to a hanger and six-to-seven hangers in the bag as long as Jay doesn't need a suit.

I'm a chronic over-packer ... I like having variety and I hate doing laundry on vacation. That's why Jay is also known in some circles as "the pack mule."

Well, maybe YOU can--your little size zero dresses don't take up hardly any room, right? ;)

No dessert at Narcoosees--how sad. :sad2: I would say I'm disappointed, but you clearly made up for it at the food booths at the F&WF!

Keep the laughs coming!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's the funniest thing I've read all day ... size zero ... me?! :lmao:

Thanks for the compliment but I'm nowhere near a zero ... :flower3:

Thank you for reading and I'm glad you've gotten some laughs - that always makes me happy! And we definitely made up for no dessert at Narcoosee's the next day at F&W where we had many desserts ... update to come soon!!! :goodvibes

I've been working on pictures from our dinner last night and thought I'd post the only group shot we took the entire evening. :rotfl2:

This is everyone after decimating the menu and booze I mentioned in an earlier post.

P4120052.jpg

Your eyes do not deceive you ... Grimace (my mom) is actually smiling!!! And she only had one glass of port ... I wonder if that's the secret???

Grimmy!!!! I was SO just going to ask if y'all brought her some lottery tickets!! You look right perty!! Jay as per usual is quite dashing!!!

I do not understand how you can pack away so much food and booze and

a)stay thin

2)avoid rehab!

you amaze me!!!

I'm all caught up!! Please don't tell me this review is pert near over?! I live vicariously through you and YOUR Jay. MY Jay won't go on the Segway tour b/c he's too bossy to be part of a "guided tour"...even on a Segway. He likes to be the boss of his own self at all times...silly husband...once we got married THAT went right out the door!

I'm the boss.

naturally.

:teacher:

Glad you got to try out Narcooooooseeeeees. We have enjoyed it both times we have been, but we will def. be trying new signature restaurants the next time we go.
LOVED the bird pictures and description of the impending " Bird Brawl"..hilarious!!
i have to visit your other blog soon..but its too far from dinner time to risk it now ;)

I actually like this dress a lot, but it does look like fabric that could be used for window dressings, doesn't it?
Ummm a little :rotfl2:

BTW ... because I mis-pronounced it when making ADRs, I thought I'd share with you how I was told to say it: Nar-cooooooo-sees.
thanks for that, I was saying nar co zees :confused3

I can't wait to dine there in August but will be steering well clear of what you and Jay had, I hate sea food :rotfl2:

PS - Your dress for your family dinner in Stinktown is VERY lovely!
And your hair looks nice too. :thumbsup2

Brenda... Be at my house on May 3rd... I'm going to need help packing!!!! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's the funniest thing I've read all day ... size zero ... me?! :lmao:

Thanks for the compliment but I'm nowhere near a zero ... :flower3:

Size 0??????

That's my right ankle.....

See I'm the opposite, I hate doing the launday after vacation so I pack light except of course when it came to the kids. On DS9's first trip he was 2 we stayed there for 10 days and I packed enough clothes for him to last 20 days. I doubled each day you know messy babies. Me on the other had I was preggo with DS#2 so I had limited maternity clothes so I did laundry for me and DS so I wouldn't have to do when we got home. Of course I did it when he was napping so I didn't miss any park time.

Guys, you have to lose the black calf socks! The cool (hot) guys at the gym wear the ankle socks that just barely peek over the edge of the shoe (and in black).

And the hits just keep on coming! ;)

Oybolshoi, thanks for the entertaining reviews! I loved reading them!

Thanks for reading - glad you've enjoyed them!

I'm really looking forward to trying Narcoossee's and I may try that pomegranate martini!

It's a fabulous, refreshing drink - I think you'd like it just fine!

i've never done a dining review.....i just don't think i could bring the detail and enthusiasm that you do to my dining experiences! I'll include mini reviews in my TR though. here's where we have ADRs: kona cafe, mama melrose, house of blues, narcoosee's, liberty tree tavern, spoodles, the plaza and whispering canyon cafe. actually, it will either be the plaza or whispering canyon - i couldn't decide if we wanted to leave MK that day or not so i made both ADRs so we'd have an option. yes, i took an ADR time that i don't need.......i know.......shame on me!!! but we're going in late april/early may. not a busy time and i pretty much got any ADR i tried for - it's just not that busy during that time of year. so i refuse to feel guilty about it. :snooty:

oh, and by the way, anna's not from boston. she's just wierd.

Dining reviews are fun - I think you'd be really good at it! And you don't have to post reviews like mine ... the best part of the restaurant boards is that everyone is different. You have a fun style and you take great pictures and you've got a great list of ADRs ... I hope you come back and share with us.

As for your friend ... who's not weird? ;)

Ok, I just read both of your last two installments. I am hungry now.

I love this "Bendy-ism"--zip-zap-grabulous! It sounds fun and a little naughty.:lmao:

The food at Narcoosee's looks so good. I love crab!

Lastly, I say chowdah and crowdah, as in peas. Any self respecting Southernah never pronounces the "r" sound at the end of a word, Sugah!:rotfl:

If we don't touch base again before your trip to LV, I will leave you with the same wish I just gave my MIL who is retiring from the teaching profession next month--"May the slots, as well as your pants, be nice and loose!"

Oh, I almost forgot...I love your dress! You look beautiful, B! :goodvibes

Hey there Sistah P! How ya been? Thanks for dropping in while you've been so busy and thanks for the kind words. I think you and your hubby would really enjoy Narkadoodle ... maybe you should give it a try this year?

Thanks for the good vacation vibes ... not long now!!! :thumbsup2

Well, you can bet that if Mother Goose likes it, I won't be eating it! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Hmmm....where's the beef? :rotfl:

I thought you and MG enjoyed the same types of food? Oh wait ... I forgot - you're a meat and potatoes girl! They have turf on the menu here ... you might like that!

Thanks again for another great edition of Jay & Bendy eat Disney World - Can't wait till Jay & Bendy eat Las Vegas!

I have been looking at some restaurants but we are really picky (ok, fine I am picky and Rob will go anywhere I want!) but a lot of places are really expensive :scared1: Normally we eat at cheap counter service type places but I know I want to do at least 1 or 2 nice dinners. Do you have plans to eat at Joe's in the Forum Shops?? I think that will be our anniversary dinner.

One week today, you must be so excited :woohoo:

Thanks for popping in to read Cass! I don't know what Joe's is supposed to be ... tell me more about it if you have some time. And let me know if you want me to get any information at all for you. I'd be happy to mail it to you once we get home.

And yes ... we're definitely excited!

I love looking at your pictures of food and salivating! Thanks for the info about the F&W festival. Dh and his best friend are looking forward to attempting do Inebri-Nations.

Thanks for reading and I'm glad I was able to provide some helpful information.

And ... Inebri-Nations ... :lmao: I can't believe we didn't think of that!

So, how did you pronounce "Narcoossee's"?:goodvibes I thought Jay's scallops looked really good--I like that casserole look to it!

And you missed the almond crusted cheesecake! :faint:

I think I said something along the lines of "I need to make an ADR at ... ummm ... I'm not really sure how to pronounce this: narkacies...?" :rotfl2:

I think his scallops look good, too; it's just the rest of the dish that's bringing the bile up to the back of my thoat. ;)

Jay will have to try the cheesecake ... I can't do almonds. :sad1:

It's "nar-coo-sees" I was corrected by a CM ever-so-politely

Yes, that's exactly how they told me to say it, too!

I make a pretty mean pomegranate martini, if I may say so myself...... That being said, yours did match the dress rather nicely ;) Great update!

Somehow I knew you'd like pomegranate martinis, Erica! :thumbsup2

DD and I LOVE the dress. So chic. Not curtainy at all!

I never dress up, so seeing so many different dresses on one person astounds me. You clean up well! :thumbsup2

Thank you both very much! No one has ever referred to me or my clothing as chic ... so I'm flattered to say the least. ;) I have a thing about dressing up for dinner on vacation because we don't really get to do it very often here at home. As long as I can fit a bunch of sundresses into the garment bag then I'm in good shape and then I can feel flirty and girly at dinner. :cutie:

Thanks for the review of Narcoossee's. We can't wait to eat there next month!! :)

Thanks for reading - I hope you have a great meal there!

Note to self... buy biggest bottle of port for Mom's next birthday...

I find that it does wonders for my mom!

Awesome news! For Jay's tummy at least.

One step forward ... two steps back.

Couture by Von Trapp. The fall collection is coming out soon. It features leiderhosen.

Nice ... I give that a 9 on the snarkiness scale. :thumbsup2

Oh gosh, you really captured the twilight romance here. Sigh.

You really paint a pretty word-picture, there. It's like you can look at the pictures and have someone narrate this paragraph. Like one of those old filmstrips in school. - beep -

Thanks - I was trying to make it pretty for a change.

Didn't Jay match his wine at California Grill during your last trip? Sheesh. The drinks sound fantastic, though.

At some point and time one of us will end up ordering a drink that matches our clothing ... I don't know how it happens but it does!

First it was port. Now it will be a pomegranate martini. You're a terrible influence on me. We'll have to hold a meeting about which drinks we need to order at Todd English's bluezoo™.

Pomegranate martinis are wonderful! I say we order the martini sampler at Bluezoo and then wing it from there. And ... I see your trademark!!! :lmao:

I dunno. You totally lost me with the Hector pup comment. What did you have to drink tonight? LOL!

I was recovering from all the drinking the night before ... I was obviously off-balance when I wrote this review because I had only been drinking water all day.

I knew that you'd get that. You just had to get a crabby patties! You didn't disappoint me there.

Call me predictable.

Well maybe if you had Mr. Peabody (not Hector) and Sherman (the boy) hanging out with you, you might be able to travel back in time. Nevermind. The soup sounded fabulous and would have probably won me over. I might have wanted to make dinner out of the crab cakes and soup and dessert and called it a night.

I don't really care for chowder but I can see where the crabbie patties would have probably worked pretty darn well with just some soup ... and dessert ... or cheese ... or both. ;)

Wow that looked fantastic. Makes me re-think the appetizer heavy dinner.

It was excellent!

Funny that you mention it. The only time I ate at Narcoosee's, I ordered scallops. And I was completely disappointed in the meal. But that was back in 2001, and I'm sure the menus have changed dramatically since then.

Jay really liked this so I guess that's all that really matters. I just think it looks revolting.

No dessert? No cheese? No fair. Pout.

Sometimes the unthinkable happens.

Yeah, I really don't have much of a desire to return. I'd rather go to Citrico's or V&A's if I had to choose a meal at the Grand Floridian.

For sure we'd return to V&A, and we'll let you know about Citricos after this Fall!

what a great family shot!

Thanks Elin!

Nice review Brenda. One question, not food related, how much do you pack? You always wear a dress when you guys go out to dinner but then you have other casual clothes for during the day. That's a lot of suitcases. I'm so sad that you're almost done but can't wait for the next review. I'll be going on your blog too later.

Thanks for reading, Laura! I know I already answered this in part ... but we actually end up with two suitcases, a garment bag, and a duffle bag. I over-pack ... like I said, it's chronic.

I come home from a weekend away and what do I find??? Another installment in Brenda's food report!!!! :cheer2:

Hi there! Hope you like this update ... we're almost finished ... finally.

Brenda, John is just so darned cute that I want to adopt him. Great group shot!
Fess up.....you gave Grimmy a big stack of scratch-offs with her dessert, right?

Hi Erica! He is cute, isn't he? He looks a little confuzzled in that picture ... I think he might have snuck a drink of my scotch when I wasn't looking!

And honestly ... I didn't give Grimmie anything but a free meal and some port!

DisneyLaura, I am not certain but I have heard that our dear 'Benda" has the crew that packed for Gilligan and his three hour tour to do her packing. Nothing but the best for them!!!

Slightly Goofy

Linda ... you're still cracking me up! I wish I had that crew packing for us!

I see Planky did the Segway Tour - I think he should have ridden with you Brenda :lmao:

Jay is the keeper of the Plankton and I am the planner of the trips ... besides if Plankton had ridden with me he might not have survived to plot world domination for another day. :rotfl2:

We've done that tour in the past and loved it so we just had to do it in St Maarten too
47b7dc27b3127cce813c2b7b244600000026108AatGLhi2cNK

What a great picture - thanks for sharing!

Grimmy!!!! I was SO just going to ask if y'all brought her some lottery tickets!! You look right perty!! Jay as per usual is quite dashing!!!

Sometimes I think I should tell my mom just how popular she is with people she doesn't know! No lottery tickets this evening ... just free food and booze!

Thanks for the compliment; you're too sweet!

I do not understand how you can pack away so much food and booze and

a)stay thin

2)avoid rehab!

you amaze me!!!

I'm not exactly sure either, but some here (and I'm not naming names) seem to think that Jay and I sold our souls to the devil.

Grimmie actually asked me during the meal Saturday night if I had a tapeworm! :lmao:

I'm all caught up!! Please don't tell me this review is pert near over?! I live vicariously through you and YOUR Jay. MY Jay won't go on the Segway tour b/c he's too bossy to be part of a "guided tour"...even on a Segway. I'm the boss.

naturally.

:teacher:

What do you mean your Jay won't take a Segway Tour? You would have so much fun ... don't give him a choice, just book it! Like you said, you're the boss!

And it's true ... there is only a wee bit left and this review will finally be complete. I'm sure the mods will be happy to see me disappear for a while. :flower3:

But there will be plenty of good times on our blog, so come pay us a visit, you hear?

Glad you got to try out Narcooooooseeeeees. We have enjoyed it both times we have been, but we will def. be trying new signature restaurants the next time we go.
LOVED the bird pictures and description of the impending " Bird Brawl"..hilarious!! i have to visit your other blog soon..but its too far from dinner time to risk it now.

Hi Gina! Thanks for reading ... I hope to see you on the blog when you have time. There will be all kinds of updates after next week (we leave for Vegas in 6 days!).

Ummm a little :rotfl2:

Didn't you know that draperies are all the rage this spring? :rotfl2:

I can't wait to dine there in August but will be steering well clear of what you and Jay had, I hate sea food :rotfl2:

Well I hope you have a wonderful meal there ... and if you like almonds and cheesecake the consensus here seems to be that you should order it for dessert!

PS - Your dress for your family dinner in Stinktown is VERY lovely! And your hair looks nice too. :thumbsup2

Thank you! As for the hair ... I had about 6 inches lopped off early in March - it was just getting too long and I couldn't do anything with it. I like this length a lot better.

Brenda... Be at my house on May 3rd... I'm going to need help packing!!!! :rotfl:

I would have no idea how to pack for a 14-night cruise ... I'd have to book another cabin for our luggage.

Size 0??????

That's my right ankle.....

I'm right there with ya ... I've never been anywhere close to a size zero. I'm 5' 6" ... I don't even qualify as petite, let alone size zero.

See I'm the opposite, I hate doing the launday after vacation so I pack light except of course when it came to the kids. On DS9's first trip he was 2 we stayed there for 10 days and I packed enough clothes for him to last 20 days. I doubled each day you know messy babies. Of course I did it when he was napping so I didn't miss any park time.

I'll do laundry on vacation if I really have to, but I end up washing everything again once we get home anyway because all the clothes seem to have that warm suitcase smell to them.

And I'm sure if we had kids we'd do a lot of things differently on WDW trips ... it would be about them instead of us. And we wouldn't drink ... nearly as much... ;)

Hey Brenda!
I don't have anything witty to say, just wanted to let you know I'm still reading and loving your reports.:thumbsup2
I think DH and Jay might be distant cousins twice removed or something. He always looks good in pics and would have made the helmet look like normal fashion attire. I, on the other hand, always look like someone took a pink marker and highlighted parts of my face and then added an extra chin.:scared1:

Brenda...the Segway tour looks like so much fun!! I have to play catch up on your report, little league is kicking my butt!!!:headache:
Where are you staying in Vegas? Man, I  Vegas.

I've been working on pictures from our dinner last night and thought I'd post the only group shot we took the entire evening. :rotfl2:

This is everyone after decimating the menu and booze I mentioned in an earlier post.

Hey Brenda! I don't have anything witty to say, just wanted to let you know I'm still reading and loving your reports.:thumbsup2

Hey yourself! Thanks for letting me know you're still "lurking" ... I hadn't seen you for a bit and was wondering where you'd been. :goodvibes

I think DH and Jay might be distant cousins twice removed or something. He always looks good in pics and would have made the helmet look like normal fashion attire. I, on the other hand, always look like someone took a pink marker and highlighted parts of my face and then added an extra chin.:scared1:

I hear ya ... that helmet did nothing for me. If I had posted the close-up taken with the "helmet" cam you would know of what I speak. It was horrible! :rotfl2:

Brenda...the Segway tour looks like so much fun!! I have to play catch up on your report, little league is kicking my butt!!!:headache:

Hey there Jusmom! Segway was a hoot - definitely give it a try some day if you have a chance! As for catching up ... the good news is that the end is near!

Where are you staying in Vegas? Man, I  Vegas.

We are staying at Mandalay Bay - got a really good internet deal. Can't wait to get there and start eating and drinking!! :thumbsup2

Me too,i had that smile costing a whole pack of lottery tickets at least, maybe she'd won the port in a raffle...:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
