Note to self... buy biggest bottle of port for Mom's next birthday...
I find that it does wonders for my mom!
Awesome news! For Jay's tummy at least.
One step forward ... two steps back.
Couture by Von Trapp. The fall collection is coming out soon. It features leiderhosen.
Nice ... I give that a 9 on the snarkiness scale.
Oh gosh, you really captured the twilight romance here. Sigh.
You really paint a pretty word-picture, there. It's like you can look at the pictures and have someone narrate this paragraph. Like one of those old filmstrips in school. - beep -
Thanks - I was trying to make it pretty for a change.
Didn't Jay match his wine at California Grill during your last trip? Sheesh. The drinks sound fantastic, though.
At some point and time one of us will end up ordering a drink that matches our clothing ... I don't know how it happens but it does!
First it was port. Now it will be a pomegranate martini. You're a terrible influence on me. We'll have to hold a meeting about which drinks we need to order at Todd English's bluezoo.
Pomegranate martinis are wonderful! I say we order the martini sampler at Bluezoo and then wing it from there. And ... I see your trademark!!!
I dunno. You totally lost me with the Hector pup comment. What did you have to drink tonight? LOL!
I was recovering from all the drinking the night before ... I was obviously off-balance when I wrote this review because I had only been drinking water all day.
I knew that you'd get that. You just had to get a crabby patties! You didn't disappoint me there.
Call me predictable.
Well maybe if you had Mr. Peabody (not Hector) and Sherman (the boy) hanging out with you, you might be able to travel back in time. Nevermind. The soup sounded fabulous and would have probably won me over. I might have wanted to make dinner out of the crab cakes and soup and dessert and called it a night.
I don't really care for chowder but I can see where the crabbie patties would have probably worked pretty darn well with just some soup ... and dessert ... or cheese ... or both.
Wow that looked fantastic. Makes me re-think the appetizer heavy dinner.
It was excellent!
Funny that you mention it. The only time I ate at Narcoosee's, I ordered scallops. And I was completely disappointed in the meal. But that was back in 2001, and I'm sure the menus have changed dramatically since then.
Jay really liked this so I guess that's all that really matters. I just think it looks revolting.
No dessert? No cheese? No fair. Pout.
Sometimes the unthinkable happens.
Yeah, I really don't have much of a desire to return. I'd rather go to Citrico's or V&A's if I had to choose a meal at the Grand Floridian.
For sure we'd return to V&A, and we'll let you know about Citricos after this Fall!
what a great family shot!
Thanks Elin!
Nice review Brenda. One question, not food related, how much do you pack? You always wear a dress when you guys go out to dinner but then you have other casual clothes for during the day. That's a lot of suitcases. I'm so sad that you're almost done but can't wait for the next review. I'll be going on your blog too later.
Thanks for reading, Laura! I know I already answered this in part ... but we actually end up with two suitcases, a garment bag, and a duffle bag. I over-pack ... like I said, it's chronic.
I come home from a weekend away and what do I find??? Another installment in Brenda's food report!!!!
Hi there! Hope you like this update ... we're almost finished ...
finally.
Brenda, John is just so darned cute that I want to adopt him. Great group shot!
Fess up.....you gave Grimmy a big stack of scratch-offs with her dessert, right?
Hi Erica! He is cute, isn't he? He looks a little confuzzled in that picture ... I think he might have snuck a drink of my scotch when I wasn't looking!
And honestly ... I didn't give Grimmie anything but a free meal and some port!
DisneyLaura, I am not certain but I have heard that our dear 'Benda" has the crew that packed for Gilligan and his three hour tour to do her packing. Nothing but the best for them!!!
Slightly Goofy
Linda ... you're still cracking me up! I wish I had that crew packing for us!
I see Planky did the Segway Tour - I think he should have ridden with you Brenda
Jay is the keeper of the Plankton and I am the planner of the trips ... besides if Plankton had ridden with me he might not have survived to plot world domination for another day.
We've done that tour in the past and loved it so we just had to do it in St Maarten too
What a great picture - thanks for sharing!
Grimmy!!!! I was SO just going to ask if y'all brought her some lottery tickets!! You look right perty!! Jay as per usual is quite dashing!!!
Sometimes I think I should tell my mom just how popular she is with people she doesn't know! No lottery tickets this evening ... just free food and booze!
Thanks for the compliment; you're too sweet!
I do not understand how you can pack away so much food and booze and
a)stay thin
2)avoid rehab!
you amaze me!!!
I'm not exactly sure either, but some here (and I'm not naming names) seem to think that Jay and I sold our souls to the devil.
Grimmie actually asked me during the meal Saturday night if I had a tapeworm!
I'm all caught up!! Please don't tell me this review is pert near over?! I live vicariously through you and YOUR Jay. MY Jay won't go on the Segway tour b/c he's too bossy to be part of a "guided tour"...even on a Segway. He likes to be the boss of his own self at all times...silly husband...once we got married THAT went right out the door!
I'm the boss.
naturally.
What do you mean your Jay won't take a Segway Tour? You would have so much fun ... don't give him a choice, just book it! Like you said, you're the boss!
And it's true ... there is only a wee bit left and this review will finally be complete. I'm sure the mods will be happy to see me disappear for a while.
But there will be plenty of good times on our blog, so come pay us a visit, you hear?
Glad you got to try out Narcooooooseeeeees. We have enjoyed it both times we have been, but we will def. be trying new signature restaurants the next time we go.
LOVED the bird pictures and description of the impending " Bird Brawl"..hilarious!! i have to visit your other blog soon..but its too far from dinner time to risk it now.
Hi Gina! Thanks for reading ... I hope to see you on the blog when you have time. There will be all kinds of updates after next week (we leave for Vegas in 6 days!).
Ummm a little
Didn't you know that draperies are all the rage this spring?
I can't wait to dine there in August but will be steering well clear of what you and Jay had, I hate sea food
Well I hope you have a wonderful meal there ... and if you like almonds and cheesecake the consensus here seems to be that you should order it for dessert!
PS - Your dress for your family dinner in Stinktown is VERY lovely! And your hair looks nice too.
Thank you! As for the hair ... I had about 6 inches lopped off early in March - it was just getting too long and I couldn't do anything with it. I like this length a lot better.
Brenda... Be at my house on May 3rd... I'm going to need help packing!!!!
I would have no idea how to pack for a 14-night cruise ... I'd have to book another cabin for our luggage.
Size 0??????
That's my right ankle.....
I'm right there with ya ... I've never been anywhere close to a size zero. I'm 5' 6" ... I don't even qualify as petite, let alone size zero.
See I'm the opposite, I hate doing the launday after vacation so I pack light except of course when it came to the kids. On DS9's first trip he was 2 we stayed there for 10 days and I packed enough clothes for him to last 20 days. I doubled each day you know messy babies. Me on the other had I was preggo with DS#2 so I had limited maternity clothes so I did laundry for me and DS so I wouldn't have to do when we got home. Of course I did it when he was napping so I didn't miss any park time.
I'll do laundry on vacation if I really have to, but I end up washing everything again once we get home anyway because all the clothes seem to have that warm suitcase smell to them.
And I'm sure if we had kids we'd do a lot of things differently on WDW trips ... it would be about them instead of us. And we wouldn't drink ...
nearly as much...
