Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter!!

We're tied up for the rest of the day with a wedding and we're having a brunch here tomorrow morning for the family. :scared:

Hope everyone is doing well. If you can spare an extra good thought for the many people in this area who are being impacted by flooding it would be much appreciated. Jay and I are fortunate enough to live outside the flood-prone areas in the STL region, but we know plenty of people who are being impacted. The scary thing is that this is just flooding from one monster storm that came through Monday / Tuesday of this week. The real spring flooding that we usually get once the snow begins melting to the North of us hasn't even started yet. :guilty:

Be well and eat lots of chocolate tomorrow! And why not have some whisky while you're at it? ;)

And a happy Easter to you and Jay, hope you have a lovely time with your family and also at the wedding.

A prayer  for those poor people affected by the floods. So much for those that say Climate Change is a myth:headache: , try telling that to these people and those in third world countries.

I'll raise a big chocolate egg to you tomorrow 'cos I think whisky is mingin' . Don't worry about the Scottish economy being affected by my dislike of whisky....both my dad and dad-in-law drink enought to offset my lack of consumption:rotfl:

Hope you can make it! As for Planky ... my understanding is that he was the perfect gentleman on their cruise. He's unpredictable, that's all I can say.

Ply him with enough Mickey Bars I think and it might be an enjoyable journey!!!
Alrighty then ... table for four and I'll shoot for 7PM. I'll let you know once we hit the 180-day mark.

Adding on extra days at WDW is always a good thing ... maybe you can add it to your expense accout. ;)

I'm workin on it!!!

My company is a pick a prize from the catalogue, too. I hit the 5-year mark in July ... I wonder how I will be able to choose between the fake pearls and the electric can opener???

Open a bank account and maybe you can get a toaster... ;)

No excuses necessary - people never feel the urge to explain why they travel anywhere else, do they?

No, but it's amazing how fast they call ME when they want to know about discounts!! :rotfl:

Oh no, nothing to worry about there. We'd still have to cover the cost of anything extra - the company just covers the cost of the hotel and airfare (unless Jay knows something I don't ... in which case I'll take one of those all day beauty packages at the spa and six bottles of champagne with some caviar, and don't skimp on the creme fraiche). :lmao:

Save some room for F&W!!!

Don't justify it to anyone ... just do it because you enjoy it! :goodvibes

I just "justified" the cruise to my "so how are you paying for this" brother...:scared1: (I'm taking mom...that's how...)

Brenda lots of thought and love to all of those who are going through the floods. I cannot imagine it and it happens near here as well (I live uphill from the Mohawk River (aka the Erie Canal...) I don't know if I would be strong enough to start over like that each time... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Bendy!!! She gave you a new word!!! :woohoo:

Mingin'... must go look that up...

Enjoy the weekend wedding festivities and Easter. :goodvibes

Yeah, I was not happy to be shovelling snow in Spring. Spring!! :headache:
There was a little bit more after I finished, and today? Melted. Go figure.

Brenda,

I immediately thought of you when I heard about the flooding.
I'm glad you are not impacted. Sorry for those who are.
I drove through Chehallis Washington yesterday. They had horrible floods in November and the impact is ongoing. I watched a Seattle news report that had a piece announcing that Oprah is coming to that area for a Big Give segment. Sounds like she needs to mosse on down to Missouri, too.

Have a good brunch. Lots of Mimosas, I hope.

Deb

Happy Easter Brenda! What wine goes with Chocolate Easter Bunnies? LOL

Soooo glad you are not flooded...I was worried about you when I saw the tv last night. John said the 44 interchange was under water????

Is the city affected much? I'm glad his grandma was never flooded out when she lived there. We did see the affects of the flood in the early 90s when the Missippi was heading toward the arch. Yikes.

Anyway, glad you are ok, and have a GREAT holiday! :goodvibes

Happy Easter to you, too! Glad you're not in the flooding, and will send prayers for those who are. Are you having to cook a lot for your brunch, or getting catered stuff? Even with me, my mom and my aunt doing the cooking for tomorrow, it just seems exhausting! So, for dinner tonight I had cracked pepper white cheddar cheese and a glass of hard apple cider with blackberry juice--no cooking required!

Gotta go--we have to hide the Easter eggs now....

Happy Easter to you and Big Daddy! Sorry to see all the flooding, but glad you are ok...........:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

sorry... it was the greenbean cassarole and the peeps.... I get sucked in and hey...it's all over!!! Holidays... gotta love um...;)

Live from OKW - - - - sad news folks!! Just came in from the MK - parade, fireworks and tried to top it off with a grand dog at Casey's - - - - - - - - - - - Sad, Sad, and unAmerican - - - Casey's dogs are now served on a whole wheat, grain bun!! Please, what ?!?!? A healthy hot dog, can't be!! I sent my complaint to Mickey - - please don't make healthy choices for me and serve me fries with it!! How can a true American eat a hot dog on a whole wheat grain bun - YUK!! Enough moaning and groaning - - no more dogs at MK for me!!

Sorry to jump in here - - but I just had to let you all know!! :confused3

Happy Easter to all !!!

Brenda, When I saw about all the flooding, my first thought was of you & the Jay-man! So glad to hear y'all weren't affected!!! I hope that everything continues to go well! Let us know if you are in trouble, we'd be happy to put you two up for a while!!!

Thank you very much - it was a nice weekend but very busy. And I know that everyone appreciates your prayers - thank you!

Mmmmm.... chocolate. YUMMY!!!! Mingin ... could you define that for me when you have a chance? Thanks!

I just "justified" the cruise to my "so how are you paying for this" brother... (I'm taking mom...that's how...).

You're nicer than I am ... I just tell Jay's sister to mind her own business or get a job.

Thanks so much Michelle. It was a scary weekend for a lot of people and now that the rivers have started to go down, it's raining again and is supposed to do so through Friday. I think it's going to be an ugly spring around here this year (and I hope I'm wrong).

Bendy!!! She gave you a new word!!! :woohoo:

Mingin'... must go look that up...

I'm right behind you!

Enjoy the weekend wedding festivities and Easter. :goodvibes

Yeah, I was not happy to be shovelling snow in Spring. Spring!! :headache:
There was a little bit more after I finished, and today? Melted. Go figure.

Hope you had a good weekend Lori! Is all of your snow gone now? I hope so ... I don't know about you guys but we are ready for Spring and warm warm temperatures!

Deb

Hi Deb - thank you so much for your kind thoughts. Unfortunately this is an area that is all too familiar with flooding, especially in the spring. We've got the Missouri, Mississippi, and Meramec Rivers all meeting up in St. Louis, and a host of smaller rivers and creeks that get outta control this time of year. It's sad to watch it happen and it's sad to watch people try to recover from it.

And brunch was very good ... and of course we had mimosas!! My mom kept calling them osas ... I think her hearing is getting bad. :lmao:

Happy Easter Brenda! What wine goes with Chocolate Easter Bunnies? LOL

Right back atcha, Sarah! I would suggest a merlot with your bunny ... or perhaps you could be daring and try some port?

Thanks so much for thinking of us - we are fine and very thankful to be so. The area that got so much attention from the media was I-44 at Highway 141, which is located in the Fenton / Valley Park area on the border between South St. Louis County and Franklin County. The city of St. Louis itself was never really in any trouble from this one, although they did have to close the flood gates down at the riverfront and the statue of Lewis & Clark had water up to the very top - actually that is a lot of water now that I think about it, but that's what the flood gates are for.

With the Mississippi, you know it's getting bad everywhere when the water starts climbing the steps toward the Arch ... not even close this time.

Hope you all had a great Easter!:goodvibes

Happy Easter to you and Jay too.

Thanks Laura - hope you and yours had a great holiday weekend!

Thank you so much! We didn't do much cooking for our brunch - we made eggs benedict and steamed some asparagus and had honeybaked ham,
several cheeses, fresh fruit, coffee, mimosas, and panne cotta.

I've gotta get me some of this hard apple cider stuff ... ;)

Happy Easter to you and Big Daddy! Sorry to see all the flooding, but glad you are ok...........:goodvibes

Same to you Sistah Paige! And thanks for thinking of us - we really appreciate it! :flower3:

Where'd everybody go? :magnify:

Well, I can't speak for anyone else but it's been a very strange couple of days and this is the ugly busy season at work. I can't play on the DIS during the day when it's this busy and I've had to bring work home a lot lately. :sad1:

sorry... it was the greenbean cassarole and the peeps.... I get sucked in and hey...it's all over!!! Holidays... gotta love um...;)

Blech! Me no likum green bean casserole. :scared:

Happy Easter to all !!!

Glad to hear from you and I hope you're having a great trip but I'm ever so disappointed to hear confirmation of the whole wheat bun scandal at Casey's. Bah! If I wanted a healthy hot dog I'd order tofu. Gimme the dog...gimme the white bun...gimme the fake melted cheese ... and no one gets hurt. ;)

Hi Sheryl - thanks so much for thinking of us! We're good and thankful to be so.

Good thoughts on the way and prayers said.

Thank you Kathy.

You know this was the first year in forever, I didn't make a green bean casserole. I really missed it!

I will never miss the green bean casserole ... it's right up there on the list with blue cheese, canned asparagus, and wine in a box. :scared:

You're nicer than I am ... I just tell Jay's sister to mind her own business or get a job.

Tell family to blow it out their butt... check:thumbsup2

Send Brenda and Jay an inflatable raft that has a Spongebob theme so Planky can drive :scared1:

Skip the green bean casserole...unless they are serving it at V&A's...(with lots of wine!!!) (and I mean LOTS OF WINE!!!)

You forgot the shroomies on your dislike list... :sad2:

If I recall from my days in Scotland, mingin' means something like gross or nasty.

I am good for all kinds of useless information. :thumbsup2

Well done zweihund...you could get a job as a Scottish slang interpreter:lmao: how long were you in God's Own Land for?

Sorry I would have replied earlier but busy week combined with "Most Haunted Live in Turin Satan's City" kind of distracted me a bit from Dis....it distracted me a bit from sleeping and going to the toilet in the middle of the night as well:scared1:
