CPAPs are considered medical necessities though. Do humidifiers fall under the same umbrella? I have a portable water bottle humidifier for traveling. @Dreamer24 do you have enough time to pick one up before the trip or have it shipped from amazon to the hotel? I am picturing you trying to carry on one of those kids ones that looks like an elephant and imagine it would take up almost all your carry on space haha.
As long as there is no liquid in it I don't see why not? I have a portable humidifier and I always have it with me - usually in my checked bag but sometimes in my carry on and never an issue.
The TSA guys may ask that it be taken out of the bag and x-rayed in a separate bin as it falls under the large electronics category, but as long as there is no water in it you should be ok

When you pack it, for just this reason, consider putting it in a large Ziploc (they make Jumbo and larger, if needed) so if you do have to put it in the tray it can stay in the ziploc and go in the tray, protecting it from the not-so-clean grey trays.
