Huge Strollers

Or that only people who really need a wheel chair/evc/crutches use them...
Sorry but shouldn't that be the case any way? Not saying ANYONE other than that person (and maybe their doctor or family) should decide who should or shouldn't use them. But if you (general you) honestly do not need the use of a wheel chair or EVC why use one other than laziness, trying to buck the system (ie thinking you will get on rides faster) or my favorite I can ride faster than you can walk so clear the path for me EVC riders?

Buy me a really nice maneuverable double stroller that is "acceptable" in your eyes and I'll gladly leave my big ole honkin' stroller at home! I mean if someone's going to steal my stroller again at DL, I'd rather it be on your dime anyway!

That said, I've seen plenty of people block the heck out of the walkways and store aisles with their small umbrella stroller so in the case of strollers...does size really matter?!? :confused3

Wow, really? That is what you took from my post? Just another opportunity to try and get another dig at someone on a message board that you do not know, but seem determined to continue fighting with because you do not agree with their statements.

Okay, you just keep on at it if that makes you feel better.

And just for the record I do not for one minute care either way what the issue was or is, but think that how this is being continued, and the manner of which speak volumes.

Jeez, defensive much? I was not attacking you, or anyone else on this board I don't know. I'm not fighting because I don't agree. I wasn't even making a dig, just pointing out that while you are trying to remain Switzerland, and think everyone should just worry about themselves, you are actually going against what the OP is saying, about people only thinking of themselves.

There is bullying. There are "Mean Girls".
The OP made a statement in general, not directed at any of you by name. Yet people have taken it personally and attacked the OP directly and anyone else with an opinion on strollers or the thread (Virgoinab).
Agree to disagree and move on.

Never thought for a minute your were attacking me. However by making the statement that just because I stated that everyone should worry about themselves you took that as me going "against" the op, really speaks volumes.

Have a great day.

What I was trying to convey is that many of us stroller users are "in need" of the double stroller as is someone who is "in need" of their evc/wheelchair.
The big BUT is....It isnt my place or even in my thought process to criticize WHY they are using the device. It is a NEED for them.
What someone else is doing is NONE of my concern until they are being rude, or inconsiderate. Then its a problem, but it really does not matter what stroller, buggy, evc, wheelchair, backpack, crutches, or whatever they have.
It boils down to how we treat each other everyday. We need to be a little more tolerant and less judgemental and we will all feel the disney magic.
When someone is rude and we turn around and take it out on others who are TRYING their best to be curteous. It really isnt solving the problem. Right?

I was the poster who made the leash comment, and I apologize if I offended anyone. I don't have moral objections to using a leash - I tried one of the backpack things with my son when he was about 2.5. It was a disaster and he was a genuine safety hazard to himself and others when we were in crowded areas. It was... not good. Parent meltdown.
If others can manage it, God bless and go have fun.
But I needed (and still sometimes need) a stroller.

I didnt' say I disagreed with your comment, only said I didn't posted it.

Also,it amazes me that people who are the offenders with the huge strollers, and I am sure they know who they are, they just don't want to admit it.

Would one of you please just admit that you take your strollers there for your own comfort w/o care of others.

Simple as that. I also have small children, but don't feel the need. Just admit that your comfort is more important than others and move on.

Like I said, there are some who are very careful about what's going on in front of them, but forget that there are people behind them that would like to keep moving along. Let's just solve the problem and bring umbrellas for childen who are older and need to relax now and then. Bring the bigger umbrellas with the extended handle, the sun visor and the smaller under carraige (for people who can't bend over for the short ones and who need to bring a bunch of stuff, which I totally get). And free up a bunch of room for others. They aren't that much and if you can afford to go to Disney, you can afford $40. Why do people think that is asking too much?
Remember that I have small kids and don't think it's hard to ask for a little courtesy.

I take my stroller for my comfort.
You don't like my stroller because of YOUR comfort.....exactly how is this any different. You only care about YOUR comfort, and aren't concerned about mine. Would YOU like to admit that you think your comfort is more important than mine too?

As far as the $40 stroller.....yes I can afford a $40 stroller. But I'd need 2 of them, plus I don't need 2 single strollers. I have a stroller that fits my family just fine. What you are asking people to do is to purchase one or 2 strollers because it'll make YOUR visit more comfortable? Why are you so important? If you'd like to ask us SUV stroller pushers to take extra care in not stopping in the middle of walkways and not squeezing our stroller into an already crowded elevator....GREAT!

I feel like saying, which I shouldn't, but guess I will that the first 3 people who will give me their email addres and then privately send me your mailing address, I will send you a bigger umbrella stoller if you promise to use it. I think you will not find you dont go w/o, find that you have enought under carraige room and the visor and the reclinor works well. We are talking about a $40 stroller at Walmart mind you if that is good enough to satisfy some of you. It has been for my 9, 7 and 9 month old for years ( I am a travel agent who takes my kids away to
Mexico twice a year and to the States once a year for attraction holidays, so have an unbiased opinion as a mom). Just have some courtesy and think about it. Why are people opposed to thinking about others??? Just don't get it.

And as someone just posted, I did not personally attack anyone, only my right to think as respect as something all others should have and I guess that's different than others apparently do. I guess they are entitled to that as well.

This is it for me.....

No one on here is against being considerate of others. I just don't see how using a stroller you don't approve of is being inconsiderate....and that people are inconsiderate just because they use it. If you have issues with how they operate said stroller, fine. Totally justifiable. But you have repeatedly stated your issue is that they use them at all? (or at least at Disneyland).

You wanted someone to admit that they use they stroller they have because it's for their own convenience and comfort.....I did. And why else should I use a stroller? Why should I pick a stroller based on YOUR needs as someone that may or may not be in the park at the same time as me? You aren't pushing it, riding in it, and most likely never will come into contact with it. If I run into you or stop in your path or try to squeeze into your elevator, feel free to have issues with me and those like me. But I truly can't understand why it is any of your business what I push otherwise.

That's the thing. You are accussing people of doing just what you are doing by expecting them to modify their behavior to satisfy you. You are only thinking of yourself. You don't like that others use big strollers because they inconvience you. You are only looking at how it affects you.

While I agree that the number & size of strollers at Disneyland has gotten out of hand. My opinions on stroller use have been well documented in this thread.

Personally I am glad to not have the hassel of a stroller.

Not the OP but................

There are many things that in some circumstances are considerate and in others inconsiderate.

I can crack open and chow down on 5 lb's of in the shell peanuts at home and no big deal. I do it at DL with a person with nut allergies sitting next to me waiting for F!, inconsiderate. Since I should be all about me and my comfort and what I want I should just go ahead and enjoy. If they ask me to stop I should just say, hey I pay $500 a year to get in here and I'll do as I please, your allergic, then go sit somewhere else. Right?

I dont think anyone here is saying they are a martyr and dont benefit from the use of a stroller. It is an obvious point that it is actually benifiting everyone involved.
I get the feeling that you would prefer those of us with a large stroller to modify our stroller use to benefit others and NOT ourselves. It makes no sense.
I follow the guidelines that disney sets out. I am curtious to others and mind my own business with my stroller that benefits MY WHOLE FAMILY and it still isnt good enough for you.
Hmmm, maybe you should go to a place that large strollers are not allowed and it would ease your anxiety.
Meanwhile, I will continue to follow the guidelines that the parks set for my stroller use and when or if it changes, I will adapt.
Most of all, I will surely go to Disneyland every chance I can, and take my kids in their stroller and enjoy every moment and when things happen that get to me I will think about how lucky I am to get to be at the happiest place on earth, with my family and give my girls in their stroller a hug.

Actually I would sit somewhere else. In fact I have moved because of dogs (not at DL, but at my DDs soccer game). I have NO right to ask someone else to move. I can ask politely if they mind switching spots with others in their party (more likely I'd switch spots with someone in MY party). I would not demand that they move. I have no more right to that spot than they do. My needs aren't more important than theirs...just like theirs aren't more important than mine. It's up to me to do what's best for me, but I can't control what others do. There are things you can control and things you can't....it's up to you to be wise enough to know the difference.

IOW you don't feel that person eating those nuts, knowing full well someone sitting right next to them has a peanut allergy, is being inconsiderate?

To the poster about peanuts. Great point. I have always been considerate about allergies and such, but now totally agree with them. You don't like it, don't sit near me. Also, on the plane, my kids are not allergic to nuts, so think they should be able to eat them because we like them very much. So you bring your big stroller for your comfort and I will bring my nuts (as I am on a low carb diet, so that is a very good snack). And we will both enjoy our own comfort. I can't wait to hear the people complain about that now that think it is their right to do their own thing, but now tell me I can't do mine. And before you tell me it is totally different, it is not. You don't like it, don't go there, just don't tell me that if I don't like it I shouldn't go there. Watch all the hypocrits come out now.
