My HS rope-drop strategy has always been riding Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster back-to-back while they're both walk-ons. I'm headed to WDW in a couple weeks; unfortunately, RNRC is down for refurbishment for my trip. We will get early entry as we are staying on property and I plan on buying Genie+. From past experience, getting a LL for ToT hasn't ever been an issue so I am thinking I should head somewhere else for rope-drop. We considered heading straight for Rise but I know that's where *most* people go at rope-drop. If we do ride it (it's not a must-do for us), I figured we'd jump in line at the end of the evening instead of first thing in the morning. I am leaning toward rope-dropping Slinky or MMRR. Which would you recommend? I am wondering what your rope drop strategies are for this park.

Slinky is another really tough rope drop, but that's because it's another long wait all day. And, you only get one last-ride-of-the-night...

If you go MMRR, you can usually also hit TSMM and AS2 before lines build too much there.

You can try for slinky as your first LL and only RD MMRR if you know you've got a slinky return time in hand...

If you are in the front of the rope drop pack, and are on ToT within 15 minutes after early entry, you can easily get on MMRR before official park opening. This would free up a G+ selection for Slinky. They don’t start letting guests into HS until actual park opening, and it takes about 10-15 minutes after that for MMRR line to build.

I got to HS 90 min before opening. They sometimes start Rise that early. We were lucky and were on and finished before official park opening had started. Went to Slinky with a 10 minute wait and the Railroad with a short wait. By that time the lines were long. Have fun and good luck
