Please help....not a big fan of HS food options. Are there any resorts close by that’s have a moderately priced table services... also how do you get there? We usually have the dining plan this year we do not. Thanks

There are plenty.
What type of food are you searching for?

You can walk, or take the Friendship Boats to any of the Epcot resorts, or Epcot itself.
Swan
Dolphin
Boardwalk
Yacht Club
Beach Club
World Showcase
All right there.

Not really.
The closest Gondola station will be at Epcot’s International Gateway. It won’t go to any of these resorts
True about the gondolas but the walk back to the Boardwalk is only 10 to 20 minutes away.
We stayed at BWI during our last trip and found that if the boat was pulling out of IG when we arrived we'd be entering the hotel before the next boat started back to IG.

Boardwalk has a bunch of good dining options - there's not a ton within the park, so it's nice that BW is walking distance. Or a short Uber ride.

I totally agree. I don't know why you quoted my post. I was answering the poster I quoted in my response.

(OP, I hope you don’t mind if I piggyback my related question onto this thread...)

Our family has plans to do a morning at HS and then lunch at an Epcot area resort and/or one evening we’re headed to HS for the evening and might grab an early dinner at the Boardwalk first. Either way we would be driving to HS from our hotel and driving back to the hotel after.

So what would be better, driving separately to both (so HS first and then Epcot resort for lunch, or resort for dinner and HS after), or just parking at HS and walking/taking the boat back and forth?

I agree with you on the food options...

So in the Park - We like Mama Melrose's with that said either early dinner or later like after the 8:00 pm mark... the dinner hour is absolute chaos, Another favorite is SCI-FI, for Burgers and Sandwiches... milk shakes super fun environment... other than those 2 we really don't get anything besides a drink, or a mickey bar...

You can take the friendship boats, over to the Boardwalk - ESPN and Big River Grill are 2 good spots for lunch... both spots have shareable pub grub or you can check out what the offering are at the resorts...

Another thought if you have park hoppers, is to go in the back gate of Epcot and have lunch some where in the World Show Case... I would stick to QS though as TS might be on the higher side for lunch

Lots of good advice, here. I agree that taking the boat over to the Boardwalk is a fine choice. There are a number of table service restaurants to choose from. Big River Grille and Brewing Works has a lot of nice outdoor seating. Enjoy!

If you have a park hopper, it would also be just as easy to take the boat to Epcot and have a meal there.

How far of a walk is it to boardwalk? We do not have park hoppers and we've had terrible food poisoning experiences at mama melrose and sci-fi

Probably easiest to park at the park and use the friendship boats or walk over the boardwalk area. The parking lots in those Epcot hotels get pretty crowded.

ESPN at the Boardwalk is fun - pub food. I really enjoy Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club - I’d put their burger up against any as one of the best in WDW. Never any guarantees but I’d guess walk-ups would be available at both of these. I actually don’t think ESPN takes reservations for dinner. Beaches ‘n Cream at Beach Club is essentially a soda shop- burgers, sandwiches and ice cream - but very small and therefore difficult to get a reservation and almost impossible for a walk-up. Fountain at Dolphin is also a soda shop style - bigger and quite good food but less theming.

Have you tried Hollywood Brown Derby and 50’s Prime Time Cafe at HS? We eat at those every trip.

It's about a 20 minute walk to Boardwalk.

I have always wanted to eat at Brown Derby but it's out of price range. I've done 50's when I was a kid....do they yell at you if you don't finish your meal and make fun of you?

The Cobb Salad at Brown Derby is only $18. That’s just a couple bucks more than QS entry. The Brown Derby Lounge has small plate menu. How many people is your party? Could you do a app and split an entree?

That's an idea! There is four of us with one onion allergy
