By 1st grader is in Cub Scouts. As luck would have it, he had to miss his den's visit to our local radio/tv station. I was thinking that maybe when we go to Hollywood Studios that there may be something there that would help him meet his requirement. This is the first year of Boy Scouts, and things are a bit looser in terms of just what they need to do. My husband said Spaceship Earth should cover it! He just needs to hear something on how tv/radio/communications help people get information. Thanks in advance for any advice!

How about the Magic of Disney Animation? I think there are a couple hands on activities too. It would be about TV/movies....too much of a stretch?

They used to have a sound stage next to Drew Carey that has old time radio props for people to test and play with. Its a set of automatic doors. I believe its just to the right of Drew Carey if you are facing it (if I remember right). You just walk right in and start looking around if it is still there. Most people don't know about it.

Also, what about Carousel of Progress? It takes you through time and takes you through the advancement of many things including a little radio and tv.

You might want to talk to his leader and see what they say about replacing stuff. I'm a den leader and we've switched out stuff or made sure that type of thing would cover the requirement.

As a former Tiger Leader ( I moved up to Wolves this year), I would gladly take credit for doing the MAgic of Disney Animation or the Back Lot tour. I think any of the attractions that show "behind-the-scenes" and how to stuff will be acceptable. If not, they do a radio broadcast often from over by RnRC. Just check with your den leader in advance and I'm sure they'd be OK with it. They MAY want to climb in your suitcase in order to verify the achievement ;), but they will probably approve. :happytv:

As a PP stated, I would start with your den leader. I would think even The Great Movie ride might be stretched to accommodate those requirements.

The first thing I thought of was the Backlot Tour. I also thought maybe either Indiana Jones or Lights Motor Action. I was thinking the latter two because it shows they behind the scenes of how they do special effects.

I think Space Ship Earth is more than perfect its all about communication and how it moved the progress of civilization.:thumbsup2
