HS EMM v. After Hours

HS is not our favorite park and I was planning on bypassing it entirely this time around but then I was intrigued by both EMM and After Hours. I know that you need a park ticket (and we are not getting park hoppers) for EMM, so paying for that would mean no additional parks that day, which makes After Hours more appealing, but also clearly almost double the price. If you have done both, which did you prefer and why? Thanks!

DD15 and I did the DHS EMM in Jan. Rode SDD and TMM multiple times and Aliens x1 and done! Left the land and saw the rope drop people being walked past Sunset Blvd towards the land...looked like something to avoid if possible. We walked very casually to RNRC and TOT, then rode ST all before going to eat breakfast at 9:45. The food was awesome for QS. We were able to order 1 or more of everything(they encouraged it)!

Thanks, that is definitely something else to consider - a full late breakfast at EMM, which would definitely keep us full until dinner, vs. snacks at After Hours.

With After hours you get the entire park(mostly) as opposed to just Toy Story Land. So that's a pretty huge difference. With EMM you get a full breakfast instead of just snacks, but it's also half the time in the park. I think AH is a better overall value.

But my kids our young so we LOVE EMM. But as soon as they're old enough to stay up until midnight, Id much prefer to do AH.

We typically do both, but if I had to choose 1, I would choose DAH. We rode SDD 3 times and TSMM 2 times and then alternated between RNRC and TOT and rode both of those 6 times each. We left with 30 minutes still left to go because we were exhausted.

My kids are tweens/teens now so this After Hours stuff is opening whole new worlds for us. I wasn't remembering that EMM is just TSL - we are big TOT fans - have been to TSL and TOT is still our favorite ride - so that's a huge factor, thank you.
