Glad I found this tread. I do notice a lag time when I tap the screen sometimes, I also get the too many cards open when I only have 1 or 2 cards open. Any tips

overclkd mine to 1.5 bc read it was designed for 1.5 so shouldn't hurt it. Nice and zippy. Still getting used to typing. But its so portable. Laying in bed listening to pandora radio and reading boards b4 bed. Love it.

where do i enter code for apps...its asking for cc info..want ti make sure wont charge me. Thx.

I only got this once when I had literally like 11 or 12 cards open. Try closing apps by sliding down so they shoot up (it makes a funny noise in landscape mode lol). Also reboot your device every so often to clear up ram. Do you restart it every so often or leave it on all the time?

I *think* the codes are gone however to be prepared for next time, yes you have to enter cc info the first time around. Basically set up an account. Then when you have a code, you find the app, hit the buy button (green button with price), that should launch a window that asks for your webos account password, then from there you will get a window that says purchase, promo code, cancel. Click promo code and enter the code (including dashes). if it accept the code it will start downloading, sometimes i get invalid promo code and if i try it once or twice more it works. So dont give up the first time. After you will get an email to your webos account email saying that you "bought" an app, a receipt, which will show it was a promo code purchase.

Thanks, google it just before I opened this email and found the answer. By restarting you mean holding down power and small button on the front right? I did not know I was supposed to do that. It was like 3mo before I figured that out on my iphone.

yes a pop up will come up like after 20 seconds (seems like forever lol) and it will have options like luna restart, device restart and some others i dont remember. device restart is your friend lol. I did it last night when one of the free app games, totemo hd was crashing and it worked after.

I have tried to install the preware, but for some reason, I cannot do it as far as box.net.. I went to do that, don't you have to pay for that? If so, I will hold off doing it .. . I will do it when I see I am going to need that extra room.. and the added space is only when I am on the internet correct?

So far I have used my TP to go on the net, and check my emails.. I am going to Disney/Universal next weekend.. I will take it with me then, and really use it more up there than home. My DH, who it is really suppose to be for.. has not used it at all 2 of my kids are using their constantly.. my one DD moved to HI before they arrived so the one for her is sitting in the box. I really do need to check it out.. she may be home by Wed (another story and a waste of money ) so she can try it out herself if she is.. if not, I will be opening the box then...

Where are you having problems with preware?

Box.net is a free app in the app catalog. You download and launch and create an account. It gives you 50gb free storage that you can access on your touchpad. You might as well sign up now before they take it away (like everything lol). Well technically yes the added space is only when you are online but you can put stuff on there and the download to your TP and then it will be on your tp for you to access even when you are not online.\

Let me know if you want guided preware, the link is pretty step by step but I can copy paste you just what you need rather than everything on there.

Sorry I dont have an iphone so cant relate however, if you want you can put the same WebOS account on both TP's (just name them something different like EchoQueen's TP and EchoQueen's Hubby TP) so that anything you buy with one account is available on the other. Not sure if there is another way but I know from another forum this was discussed and it was possible.

Also there's a new app now that lets you control your desktop/laptop remotely, this can allow you to view netflix and hulu since it will actually be running on your home computer and not on the TP directly. Its called splashtop $4.99.

Just as I'm learning my Touchpad I find out my DH is getting an IPad from work and I'll be getting one of those too. Just gotta decide what I'll do with my TP. It makes an awesome kindle and my kids would probably want to use the IPad more.

I think , and of course this is just my opinion, but since you got it for the cheap prices, you should keep it (unless money is a big issue). from your siggy and past poss you have multiple kids, it will make a great movie player for long road trips (disney). If for that alone, it might be worth keeping lol congrats on getting a free ipad! lol
