HP Muggles In Waiting Thread!

I think Harry will sacrifice himself to save the wizarding realm.

Alot of wet eyes in the theatre then eh? ;)

Speaking of which, who came REALLY close to crying in the Goblet of Fire movie when Harry came back with Cedric's body? It was SO sad!!!

They were talking about it on MuggleCast. Someone next to one of the guys was all-out bawling! It was a big improvement from Dan's "He was their friend!" in PoA . . .

Ditto. The "He was their friends!" line was rather blah when compared to all of the moments in GoF.

Plus he seemed far less stiff in GoF. Dan's really grown into character with each film. They just get better as they go along.

Does anyone collect or own Harry Potter stuff?
Do you have a wand?
A T-shirt?
A Poster?
Trading Cards?
A Chocolate Frog????
Have you gone to a release party for previous books?

I actually think they're getting worse as he gets older. The first one had a lot of detail and sorda kinda followed the book more. While as the gof left out tons and tons of stuff...For example...S.P.E.W...was ont in the movies, as well as many other things.

As for the acting, no I feel the same. He's gotten older and to me just doesn't fit the HP character anymore, while as in the begginning he fit it well...

But just my opinion.

In GOF there were creatures (spider, skrewts, sphinx) and lots of spells to get past in the maze but in the movie they left all of it out and I liked the book maze a lot better. Also, Dobby was in GOF but he wasn't in the movie. In the book Dobby starts working in the Hogwarts kitchen and he gives Harry the Gillyweed so he can breathe in the lake. In the movie they have Neville give Harry the Gillyweed.
The books are always better.

I'm not a teen but I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I've read my books so much that they are getting worn. I agree with all of you- the movies are fun but they really sell the books short- there is so much more in there.

As for THE FINAL BOOK- I'm holding on to hope that Harry will survive but in the back of my mind is the reality that I think that in order to rid the world of LV, Harry will have to sacrifice himself to accomplish this. I never would have thought this way and then Dumbeldor died-

We will be at Disney on July 13- I know you know what day this is- So do you think it in bad taste to take a break from Mickey to have a "date with Harry"?:rotfl:

just a MOM's point of view

Does the movie start on the 13th? I know the book is released on the 21st. (But the release parties will be on the 20th in anticipation of 12:01 on the 21st).
I love Disney but I would definatly take a break and go see the Order of the Phoenix on opening day! There is a fairly nice theatre at Downtown Disney so you wouldn't really be neglecting Disney at all! Besides Disney is all about magic and so is Harry!:wizard: We could all use a bit more magic in our lives I say!
I do plan to see OOTP on the day it starts!popcorn::

What do you think they will cut out of OOTP in the movie? I can't wait for the DA and also the Department of Mysteries. I am gonna be so sad when Sirius is dueling at the end.

oh, yes. Order of the Pheonix is set to release july 13. I think the whole Grawp thing will be cut. I cant seem to really follow its purpose in the books either but I know it will be significant. JKR doesnt just put stuff in there to take up time.

I'm gonna cry when Sirius duels. He was my favorite character.

I've seen a picture of what looks like the whole DA together and it looks really cool. I'll post it later.

Oh Thanks! I would like to see the piccie of the DA!!

I think Grawp was in the story because I think he will end up talking to the giants in book 7 and getting some of the giants on the good side. I have recently read a book that discusses what is likely to happen in the Deathly Hallows and it predicts that one of those who will die is (get ready for the shock!!!!!!!) Hagrid. So if Hagrid does die then Grawp can deal with the giants. Of course, this is all just guessing. After all JKR did say that some loved characters will not make it.

Here's the picture of the DA. At least, I think it's of the DA . . .

Wow that's a really sucky picture. Whatever cameraman took that should get fired.

WOW they're actually gonna have the DA in the movie. Surprising seeing as how they leave everything else out.

Ok sorry I'm feelin' a bit moody today.

The picture might look a little on the cheap side 'cause it's not an official promotional picture. It's not as close-up oriented or stylized as a promo pic would be.

Personally, I can't wait until the battle in the Ministry, even though my favorite character dies in it.

Hmmm...I hope that this movie isn't as bad as I fear it will be.
