HP Laser Jet 1012 Printer help needed.

I am having a problem with my printer. The left margin is smudged because it looks like one of the wheels is dragging across the print. It is actually pressing so hard (I think) that it is making an impression on the paper. I thought initially that the paper length smudge was due to the cartridge needing to be changed but it didn't fix the problem. It's a relatively new problem. Any solutions. DH is not home so I can't get him to look at it.

You can get cleaning paper from a Business Supply store. Just run one through. That may be the problem. Hope so anyway

Thanks for the quick reply. I am not sure that it is actually something that needs to be cleaned as much as something that is putting too much pressure on the printed material so it smudges. But, I think I will drop in at Staples and see if I can solve the problem.
