The storm was pretty much of a bust down in Charlotte, NC. Just a few inches of snow and some ice. But since the city shuts down at any dusting of snow, there was no impact.
GO PANTHERS!
I'm sitting way up north here, just outside of Bangor, ME. It's 14 degrees F with a "real feel" of 2, but it's not snowing- in fact, it's partly sunny (optimistic Maine-speak for "mostly cloudy"). We missed this one completely. That's OK, last year's 187" of snow was really enough for two winters! I'm watching the coverage in amazement (BTDT) and hoping everyone is safe and warm.
Before I read what you wrote I was impressed you posted some sort of high tech storm map!View attachment 146912 I can't even tell how much we have. In some places I can still see the driveway peaking through, but my car has a waist high drift on the driver's side. We have 2 trees down. One across the driveway and one in the backyard but neither are ours, have no idea where they came from. The wind here is incredible. We are in NePA on top of a mountain. Here's a branch of the driveway tree peaking through a big drift. Grateful for the power still being on, and enjoying it while we have it!
We are in Central PA here and when it all started our forecast said a total of 1-3 inches. Then it changed to 3-5, and then again to 8-10. Hard to tell how much we ended up with -- maybe a foot?
My Corgi isn't thrilled either. I opened the back door for him this morning and he did this: View attachment 146920
So, my DS is out there shoveling him a path off the deck and around the yard.
Kids are thrilled since it's the first real snow we've gotten all year.
Stay safe and warm everyone!
