How'd I get so lucky?? My AP Year * Updated 8/22 Our Next Trip!

Unless you tell them - they will never know the difference. They probably think I am leaving the next day anyhow. lol.

You are brilliant, awesome brother. Brilliant and devious.
I just might go for that, but you know I love to talk about Disney and there's no way I won't want to talk about (and show pictures of) All Star Movies when I get back.

I almost told at brunch this morning, but nobody was really in a good mood. Maybe next Sunday. Maybe I'll cook something extra yummy.

Keep in mind that the only reason that I am not sticking around for that extra day too is the company holiday party that Adriane has that day. If I move for that new job, her holiday party will no longer be an issue...

Ok. Extra day for me. Let's count on it.

Also - cancel Whispering Canyon Café for:
Big River Grille & Brewing Works? Grand Floridian Café?

#1 Don't forget to add me back on your reservation!

I looked at menus for both of those places and they look ok. Going to go find some reviews now. But I'd like to also consider Teppan Edo.

Any readers have opinions about any of those eateries?

Hello fellow Disney fans! :cheer2:
So it's 84 days until we leave and I am EXCITED about our trip!

You know, at the beginning I was super obsessed. And then the obsession kind of... faded. Or hid. Or just got lost among all the other things of life that can fill a girl's mind. But lately, especially as my awesome brother and I have been trying to figure out where to stay on our extra day, and more importantly where to eat on the night we were going to eat at Whispering Canyon, I have gotten a little obsessed and a lot excited again.

And that's all I really have to say right now. I just needed to vent somewhere to someone who knows what I mean. I'll be back before too long though. As the trip gets closer there's more and more to talk about, of course.

See ya real soon!

I have been obsessively reading trip reports lately. Way too much.
But I was just reading about someone riding Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and so I was thinkning about riding it in the Buzz Lightyear tshirt I got when Threadless.com had a sale earlier this year. And then I was thinking about meeting Buzz when I had his shirt on!! And I got unreasonably excited. Because I am such a Disney dork! I can't really help it, and why would I anyway?

I only liked Buzz a regular amount (I don't really know how much that is) until our trip last year. We met him over by his ride one night after we traveled on the Carousel of Progress. They were having a dance party nearby and we could hear it and see the lights from the meeting spot. When I got to Buzz he grabbed my hands and danced me around a little bit and it was one of the most fun things I've ever done. Is that weird? I have done a lot of really fun things and you wouldn't think that dancing to a song I didn't like for 15 seconds with a man in a costume would be up there with them. But it's one of those Disney magic things that if you don't understand, no one can really explain.

:goodvibes

Anyway, I was thinking about that and wished I could share my excitement - and then I remembered that's kind of the point of a pre-trip report, right?

Here's a picture from that meeting! (Thank Mickey for Photopass+)

I never thought I would care about the costumed characters until I had my first character dining. I don't know how/what/why it is so awesome - but it IS.

I really want to meet Wall-E or the muppet mobile lab or even the new talking Mickey!!! Here's hoping.

Is it weird that I am totally jelly that a man in a Space Ranger costume danced you around to Disney Music. :lmao:

We attended MNSSHP and my DD was only 16 months at the time and she and I danced with the Cinderella mice. I thought it was totally normal to be dancing with people sized mice in dresses. :woohoo:

I LOVE meeting and interacting with the characters at Disney.

okay so forgive me if this is creepy but I can't help myself.......I really believe that people find eachother for a reason if we don't yet know the reason! So I go on the dis fb december thingy and heres this name with plans of going everywhere i planned on every day I planned as far as parks that is(I didn't know ur adrs yet) then I find that neither of us have ever had a dis-meet OMG!!! that's not all i also have an "H" but her name is Hailey, she has seizures aswell and although i am not 46 someone very special to me who I lost just last year was born in 46.Oogeddy boogeddy!

The things about "totally normal" is there's real world totally normal, and then there's Disney totally normal...

:dancer:

Not creepy at all! I love it when I find a "stranger" on the internet I have a lot in common with. It's one of the best ways the internet makes the world a little smaller! I'm glad we found each other too and really hope we get a chance to meet up in December! :dance3:

Love that you have your own H, but of course very sad to hear she also has seizures. They are horrible and I hate them with my whole heart. Is she epileptic? What brings on her seizures and do they ever get in the way of your Disney trip? Sorry if I'm intruding - I just don't know any other mom's with kids who suffer from those.

I was up so early that day trying to get the ADRs, and I was so glad I was! I am thrilled with the ADRs I got. Keep trying for the ones you want though. New spots open up all the time. On our last trip there were several I had to keep checking and checking for. I know BOG is a tough one - but I hope you can get in!!

Thanks for introducing yourself. So glad we've "meet" and I look forward to doing it in person at the happiest place on earth!

This trip will be awesome!

I certainly hope so.
Sometimes the whole Magic Band/Fast Pass+ thing makes me worry.
Or I worry about how our AoA stay is broken into two because we can't get one reservation for the whole time. I worry about the morning we have to make the move and will we make it to our breakfast reservation at 1900 Park Fare.
Or I worry about with PhotoPass+ being on our Magic Bands, will you and Adriene be able to use it too, or will it just work for me D and H?
Or I worry about which days I should not use the PP+ since it only works for 14 days and I'll be there for 16.
Or I worry about those few days I'm checked in at AoA and BLT at the same time. Will that cause any weirdness? Especially with the Magic Band/FP+.
Or I worry about can D, H and I really get along for 11 days of togetherness.
Or I worry about is 16 days too long to be at Disney?
Or, you know, sometimes I worry about stuff.

We are going to the Christmas party!

You may remember I already have tickets to go with my brother and Adriene on the 10th, the day after Danny and Hannah leave. But last night over dinner, we decided to go to the party ourselves! Heres how it happened:

Inasmuch as going to Disney at all is something special, we had decided to do a little something extra special on this trip. Our first plan was to go to the Wishes Dessert party, and everyone was excited about that. Recently, Danny started asking about the various tours, and after he and my brother talked, we decided wed all do the Keys to the Kingdom tour together instead. During that time, I stopped following the reservation watch for Wishes, and when I heard they were open for December, I didnt check it out.

There was really only one day it would work out with our overlapping schedules, on December 8th. My brother and I were out to dinner when he called to sign us up for the tour. We were both surprised to find out there were no open spots for that day, at any time. :( Dang.

Here's a picture from that night, because posts without pictures are sad. My awesome brother is also a big goof, but I love that about him.

I realized while we were appetizing on our chips and salsa I should call and reserve Wishes spots. It had only been a few days since reservations opened, so I didn't think I'd have a problem. But then December 2nd was sold out. And December 4th was sold out. The CM offered there were openings on Dec 5th, so I said go ahead and make them. Since we were out at dinner I didn't have my schedule with me so I hoped it would work out and made sure I could cancel (at least 4 days in advance).

When I got home and pulled out the calendar - well December 5th is a Christmas party night! Its my fault for not checking - but the CM didnt mention it at all. I wish she would have, of course. I remember clearly that when I talked to a CM to make my ADRs (on my other MVMCP night), she not only mentioned it to me, but when she read me a little list of disclaimers near the end of the call and mentioned again I would have to have a party ticket for that night. That was helpful.

I broke the news about our failed attempts at last nights Disney talk dinner, and I mentioned the Christmas Party. I tried to describe it and mentioned it's more expensive than the dessert party but cheaper than the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Danny and Hannah did a lot of talking and asking questions. H was the first to vote a definite yes (she's excited to meet the Princes with their Princesses)!, but D also voted yes. Good thing I wanted to go, right?

So how fun! None of us have ever been to a hard ticket event and were excited! And I'll be getting to go twice, which is awesome because when I'm there with D & H we can do what they want and I won't have to worry about getting to do and meet everything and everyone I want to! Plus it will give me an extra chance at photographing the parade and learning from my mistakes.

I can not even believe how close this long talked about trip is! I'm starting to get that oh my goodness I have so much to do feeling!

It's all good when it's getting ready for Disney though! What a lucky problem to have.

getting myself in here so i can read it.

thanks for sharing.

this is MY dream of a lifetime trip taking my family to disney for the Holidays. I have only been a few times...less then 5.
heding tot he world on Dec 8th thru the 15th and celebrating a Grand daughters 8th birthday with dinner in the castle and attending party.

The week is pure magic and I will be there with 15th family members

What wonderful news!!! Bummer about The Keys to the Kingdom tour not being available but you will have so much fun at the party!!! Plus you get to go twice that is amazing.:woohoo:

I have been to the MNSSHP and that was great. We had so much fun seeing everyone in costume and just the different experience that is Disney at night during a party.

You are getting close to your trip. I am almost to the single digits. :)
