How young is too young for first trip???

DS was 9 months old on his first trip. We took him again when he was 13 months old and he's going again at 17 months (in March). I think as long as your little one is older than 2 months its perfectly fine to take them to WDW!

I know plenty of people that refuse to take their child until they are older so they can appreciate it but you know what my DS appreciates it just fine. He LOVES Pooh to death and on our last trip seeing him standing there hugging Pooh and loving it was worth every penny we paid Disney to be there.

Don't listen to anyone else but yourselves. You guys go when you are ready!

We waited till our youngest was 2 months shy of being 3 and the other 2 were 6 and 9. This was a once in a lifetime trip and I didn't want to bring any babies.

Now, if we had the means to go to disney every year or even every other year I would have went anytime before that, but we don't and I wanted the trip to be special for all of us.

Obviously this is a matter of personal preference.. For our family, a disney vacation is one that can only happen once every 3 or 4 years...at least.. While most of the reasoning for this is financial, I think that it keeps it extra special... Last time we went my DD (8) and DD(4) had a wonderful tme. I was pregnant with our DS and because of my condition, I was able to spend alot of time waiting while the others went on rides, and I observed many families... I made the conclusion that for us, we would not return until our son was 4...fully potty trained, a little more reasonable, yet young enough to still really believe in the magic.. There were countless times where I felt such pity for parents that looked so worn out at the end of the day with an exhausted baby and cranky toddlers...Now our son is 4 and he cannot stop talkng about out May trip. Like I said, it's definitally a personal preference and I feel like you can enjoy Disney with your child at any age..

I agree with many pp about it being personal preference.

We had 3 kids in 3 years so we would have had lots of diapers to change had we gone when they were really young. For us we decided to wait until they were all potty trained. Our youngest was 3.5 and for our family it was great.

They were all young enough to feel and believe the magic, enjoy rides, not be afraid of the fireworks/shows/characters and not having to worry about an uncomfortable diaper at the end of August was also great!

This will be our 3rd year in a row going and I think as the kids are able to do more they have had more fun plus, they also get more say in the vacation Which is not always so much fun for us!

Go when your family is ready. Maybe do a long weekend somewhere closer to home to test the waters and see how that goes first.

We took DS at 5 months and he had a lot of fun. When we go back this fall he'll be 2 and a half and his sister will be 6 months old, it should be fun too. I am more worried about him then the 6 month old though, because a 2 anda half year old is much more definite in their opinions then an infant.

our DD was 2 and she remembers everything and cant wait for this years trip

our dd was 6.5 months on her first trip. she had fun! will she remember it? of course not. but was it worth it for us? yes! will she have the opportunity to look at pictures and know we cared enough to take her even then? yes!

i can't tell you how many people told me it wasn't worth it to bring her because she wouldn't remember the trip. if you follow that philosophy, why bother doing anything w/ or for your child until they are say 5?

go, have fun, take lots of pics and bring your little one back again!!! :)

My wife and I are having our first child in May as well. We already have our trip booked for December of this year. I don't think you can ever be too young for Disney.

Well we're taking our LO for his first trip in July when he'll be 15 months and we can't wait!!! :thumbsup2

We took our DD when she was 13 months and she had a blast. We cannot wait for our next trip!! You are never too young and never too old for WDW!

just got back from DW with 2 and 3 yr. old

they loved it, did not once pitch a fit, although I must say I saw some children this age do that, & mine can if they get a mind too exp. the 3 yr. old, but we stayed out of the stores. I did not buy thim one thing other than food, we did before the trip go to wall mart and got thim a stuffed animal from "disney"

If he hasn't already had a haircut...definitely make time for the barber shop on Main Street in MK. It was one of my two most favorite memories of my trip with my lil' guy who was just shy of 14 months.
